Tempting the Dragon King is a spinoff of the Shadow Quest series, picking up not long after the battle to save the Faieara on Evlon from the Kayadon, in which his father, King Mar, was killed. He is heading back towards Evlon for a celebration when he comes across Juniper (June) from Earth coming towards his ship in a Kayadon vessel. The attraction between the two is instantaneous and though he feels obligated to marry a neighboring planet's princess for status, soon realizes that June is the only woman for him. Dragon King is hot, action packed and contains an unexpected twist at the end. Great start to a new series - I am looking forward to reading the next.

I had a hard time connecting with this story.... may have to do with mood or the characters. Tristan witnesses his fathers death, and he becomes the next Dragon King on a sad note. Bearing that sadness he finds a single human aboard a ship that they take over. Feelings start to overwhelm Tristan over the tiny human and fate intercedes.

I felt there was too much genre....anyone? Dragon shifters? Science fiction? Space the final frontier! Juniper was her own blend of sassiness but does duty override fate?

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC to read and give my honest opinion!

An overwhelming attraction... an ugly rumor... a possibility of brand-new beginning. For June (Juniper), getting into the spaceship was just the first step in her journey. How she manages to survive and thrive is the thrill in the story.
Note: This is a spin-off story for the Shadow Quest series and some of the characters re-appear. While I always recommend reading stories in order, I don't believe it will be necessary to read one series in order to enjoy the other

Tempting the Dragon King is set in the same world as the Shadow Quest series, of which I've read the first book The Demon's Possession. I don't think it really matters if you have read any of those or not, although it does help to explain the world that this series takes place in.
Juniper, or June as she prefers to be known found herself trapped on an alien spaceship hurtling through space to who knows where. She didn't know that it was a space ship when she entered and she has no way of understanding the controls or getting home. She is intercepted by the king of the dragon shifter race who doesn't know if he can trust her or not. It soon becomes clear that there is something between them that draws them together.
Spaceships and the like aren't usually my thing, but I really enjoyed this story. June and Tristan make an interesting couple and lets face it a romance is a romance wherever it's set. As long as there's plenty of chemistry and you like the characters then it doesn't really matter where they live. That's certainly the case here. Tristan and June work well together and I enjoyed reading about their growing relationship.
This was a good read and I'd certainly be keen to read more in the series. The epilogue certainly suggests that there's more to come from this world.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I first became acquainted with the author when I received an ARC of The Demon's Possession from Netgalley. I enjoyed that book so much that I purchased the other books in the series though I have to admit that I was disappointed in the repetition of the story in Book 4 so I was a bit skeptical when I received this ARC.
This story picks up from where that series ended but begins a series about the dragon kings, allies to the faieara. While this story can be read alone I believe it might be better read after the shadow quest series.
Tristan is on his way to honor the alliance with the Faieara which is father died protected. On his way he runs into an enemy ship which when he stops and boards has only one occupant, a woman from earth who accidentally got trapped and shipped off space. For a shapeshifting dragon who's forgotten how to smile let alone laugh on the cusp of an arranged union for his Kingdom, Juniper Jones is a breath of fresh air.
Trouble is brewing in dragon land, his fiancée to be is in residence and yet Tristan can only focus on the enticing human who has him all twisted up. There's some adventure, an epic battle, a miracle and all ends happily after. Personally I did not feel this story is as strong as the Shadow Quest series that reeled me in. I do enjoy space opera and shape shifters so I may return for more in the future.

June finds herself on a crazy adventure when she sets foot in an alien space craft that takes off with her in it. She has survived a lot of heartbreak in her life but she is strong and capable. Tristan can't help but be attracted to her even though he should marry to secure his kingdom.

Danger surrounds them when they return to Legura and some of his people plot against him. While Tristan and June's story has an HEA, the mastermind of who is causing trouble in the kingdom hasn't been reveal. Looking forward to the next story, kind of hope it is Orik!

This series is a spin off from Shadow Quest.

I had a major problem connecting with this story somehow it just didn't work for me and I can't even tell you why I didn't like either of the main characters either

Juniper Jacobs is trying to make her way back yo earth when she is rescued by Tristan Okora, king of the dragon shifters the attraction between them is instant and the more time he spends with her the more he wants her but he is betrothed to a with a neighboring princess something his kingdom needs Can he put them all in danger by mating with the human or will he have to walk away.

Dragon shifter King Tristan Okora finds someone very unexpected in an enemy spaceship while journeying to an allied planet. Juniper Jacobs is a freaked-out Earth woman who accidentally became trapped in an alien ship that sent her hurtling into space on a wild ride. When Tristan discovers June, he intends to return her to Earth, but circumstances get in the way causing him to keep this mortal with him.

June is quite attracted to the dragon king; however, he is immortal and she…is not. Although she is very drawn to Tristan, June’s complicated past, and their obvious disparities keep her from fully embracing all that seems on offer. Tristan has issues in his kingdom including false rumors and a would-be fiancée who is not amused at a puny by dragon standards interloper. With several challenges ahead of them, Tristan and June become more entranced with one another despite the many seemingly impossible barriers overcome.

Tristan is surprisingly more in touch with his feelings than dragons of tend to be. He does not seem very kingly but then, Tristan is new to the kingship after a sudden loss. June has some issues from her childhood that have been haunting her for quite a while, but now she has a chance to put those ghosts to rest. First in a spinoff series, this book can be read as a standalone. Fans of Sci-Fi romance and dragons will likely enjoy this light read.

Tempting the Dragon King is part of a new series I have not had the opportunity to read her other series. I just saw dragon and was like “gimme”. Unfortunately, I was let down, do not get me wrong Tempting the Dragon King is a sexy and fun read, I was just hoping for more. For an alien romance you sure do not get that outer space vibe and the world building could do some work. There is also some definite instalust our heroine falls for our hero pretty damn quickly.
Overall, Tempting the Dragon is a nice popcorn read, it is fun and keeps you entertained but don’t expect to be satiated.

I didn't like it, mostly the characters where not likable, the dialogues not well written and the plot was ...meeh.....maybe it was just not the right book for me, dragons in space is just too much....

Non mi é piaciuto, i personaggi non erano simpatici, i dialoghi ridicolil e la trama inesistente....forse non era il libbro per me, magari i draghi nello spazio sono proprio troppo.....

THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!

Kierstan Fay books are just fun to read. This book is connected to previous series, but can be read as a stand-alone novel.

This book had great characters with Jupiter and Tristan. Jupiter is surprisingly ok with discovering other people in the universe, but I liked her go with it attitude. There was life and death situations, getting past emotional baggage and dragons! I really enjoyed this book a lot.

Tristan is a dragon shifter and now king after losing his father. He doesn’t feel worthy, but knows he’s needed.

Jupiter is just a girl out for a hike on Earth that somehow ends up in a spaceship and traveling through the universe on a crash course with Tristan’s ship.

The two have an instant attraction, but neither is thinking long term. Jupiter is an Earthling with a bad history and Tristan is a king with a maybe fiancé that has some wicked rumors flying around about him.

I loved seeing how these two got through the challenges along with some steamy scenes and I enjoyed the cameos of characters from previous books.

I loved this book. The scene with June transition had me riveted. The description was epic and I went back and read it twice. The ending was very good with a book for the next book. I look forward to reading that one too.

Tempting the Dragon King is the first book in the Dragon Lords series and a spin-off of Fay’s Shadow Quest series. King Tristan Okora, a “drop-dead gorgeous hottie with a lick-worthy physique,” is an alien/dragon shifter who rescues June, a human, after she becomes trapped in an alien ship and hurtles across space.

Near starving and desperate, June is relieved to be rescued by Tristan and his kind mother and even more relieved when they promise to return her to Earth. However, the more time Tristan and June spend together, the more they fall for each other. Will June return to Earth, or will Tristan convince her that she’s meant to stay with him?

This romance is steamy!! Tristan is so enamored by June, and he finds her intoxicating to the point where he has trouble keeping his hands off of her. June is equally enamored with Tristan. However, she has no long-term expectations, unlike Tristan.

June, a victim of childhood domestic abuse who has suffered much tragedy and loss in her life, is not as quick to trust and fall in love, but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying what they have. Since she has never really experienced love, she isn’t as quick to admit her feelings. Tristan has been surrounded by love for his entire life and expresses these feelings much easier. He realizes quickly that it’ll take some work and time to convince June that her place is by his side.

What I love about their relationship, besides the piping hot sex, is that they support each other, physically and emotionally, from the start of their relationship. Both Tristan and June feel a tremendous amount of guilt for losses in their family – Tristan over the death of his father, and June over the death of her mother and brother. The shared grief and guilt connect them and draws them closer. They understand each other in a way that others don’t.

The quick and humorous banter throughout the story is also a delight to read. Tristan’s mother is fabulous, as is his best friend. Tristan and June also have some comical conversations especially when her curiosity gets the better of her. I love how Tristan and June bring out the best in each other and those close to them support their blossoming love.

Another aspect of the story I like is the interesting world-building. The story takes place across several planets, each with different beings, cultures, creatures, and communities. Fay’s skill in developing such vivid and immersive worlds is a highlight of the novel, and I hope to learn more about them in the rest of the series.

In addition to the love story, several other conflicts transpire. Tristan is a newly appointed king with rumored dissension on his planet. False accusations relating to his father’s death haunt him, and a potential fiancee (hate her!) waits for his proposal. On top of that, there are conflicts with mysterious witches who live on his planet. These sub-plots become significant as the plot progresses and add a bit of suspense to the story.

This is a quick-paced and fun read about two lost souls who make each other whole again. I enjoyed Tristan and June’s love story and look forward to reading more of the series. Thanks to the author and Netgalley for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Tristan is easily jealous, “you are not here to flirt. Remain by my side and stay out of trouble.” Her eyes flashed with indignation and she gaped at him for several moments." The man tends to have a one track mind, “the surprise had better be that you banished everyone within viewing distance, otherwise many of our servants are about to get a show.” I liked this book, I loved Tristan.

Dragons In Space
Excellent start to this spin-off series. This is the first book in the Dragon Lords series and I can tell it’s gonna be great.
Tristan Okora is king of the dragons. June Jacobs was trapped on a spaceship and is trying to get back to Earth when she is rescued by Tristan.
Instant attraction, great character interaction and super sexy. Alpha male and a strong female make this a enjoyable escape.
Looking forward to more from this author.

*I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Another disappointing paranormal romance from this author. Juniper is rescued by a alien, dragon shifter and taken with him and his royal fleet to another planet. There she spends time with Tristan who is attracted to her but has a royal obligation to the throne and his fiance. While I liked Juniper I was turned off by how easily she is taken by Tristen and how easily they are taken with her. I've read many alien romances and found none where the mother dresses up the alien human so that her bethrothed son finds her attractive. There were too many contemporary jargon utilized and it made it impossible to imagine them on another planet. Just too many inconsistency to fully enjoy.
