I really didn't think I would like this book but I was very surprised how good and well written it was , I couldn't put it down once I got into it ,would recommend to others.

I must admit I liked the storyline of this book but the artwork and title put me off a bit as they didn't marry up with the storyline; now I wish I'd started it sooner. The story was so romantic and yes very predictable but hey it is a romance novel, it would be weird if it wasn't predictable, and let's be honest here, we read them because we want the happily ever after. The main characters were both really likeable and it kept my interest throughout; I couldn't put it down. The ending was perfect and I think would lend itself to a spin-off where we can have a book for each of the friends to tell their story; I'd definitely read them if there was

A surprisingly good story from Georgia Toffolo, clearly writing about a world she is familiar with.
Two people pretend to be a couple to appease the parents and stop them matchmaking.
They inevitably become close friends and so feelings become blurred. The outcome is a shock to both of them and not the happy ever after, or is it?

Georgia Toffolo is a new author for me and I was quite surprised to find that Meet Me In London is a Mills and Boon book. Mills and Boon have quite a reputation for releasing romantic fiction for old ladies, don't they? Well, they've moved with the times and can quite easily fit in with the modern-day chick lit genre now.

This story is about Victoria, an undiscovered clothes designer who works as a bar manager. Fate introduces her to Oliver who is the heir to a chain of department stores, and he asks her to be his fake girlfriend to get his nagging mother off his back.

The pair work together to make sure the new department store opening works with the existing high street community, whilst trying to fight the feelings that their relationship is only temporary and not real.

I really enjoyed reading this. The writing style was easy, the characters were believable, and as I read this book, I could picture it all happening in a Christmas movie, as it is set in November and December with lots of festivity happening around them.

A passionate story of love and friendship recommended for the Christmas season.

Meet Me in London is the classic rom-com plot of a pretend relationship turns too real. But I think what sets this apart is the characters and the depth they have. Seeing the relationship develop from two perspectives who are unwilling to talk about their feelings is very well done in this book. It'll be the perfect Christmas read in 2020.

IMHO the mark of a commercial writer is someone who can produce a book that others want to read. Georgia Toffolo, you’ve got this!

My review

On the face of this MEET ME IN LONDON follows the tried and tested formula of billionaire meeting and falling in love with a normal ‘girl next door’ type. There’s nothing wrong with this as a story line – it works. In this instance Victoria is a would-be fashion designer, let down in love and with a tragedy in her past, which adds depth to the plot and makes me want to read the other 3 books in the series. Oliver has all the usual attributes of an Alpha and it’s nice that the storyline batts between both MCs voices.

In short Toffolo has made a good job of the book and I think that this her debut work of fiction would find its own place on the shelves with or without her name on the cover. I do wonder where this journey will take her and if she’ll continue in this vein. Writing style can’t be learnt and she has it in spades.

Really good read. Would recommend to friends and family. I could sympathise with characters (important for any fiction novel!) and looked forward to picking it up and reading the next few chapters! Interesting plot line and a good ending. Will look out for more novels by the author. Thank you.

Georgia Toffolo's first novel Meet Me in London will without a doubt warm your heart this winter. What would you do if (unbeknown to you) a millionaire asks you to be his fake fiancée and offers you the opportunity to pursue your dreams?

Olivia works in a bar during the day, designer by night. Tainted by her past relationship with her ex, Olivia guards her heart as much as she can but she just can't stop herself falling for Oliver. Oliver has it all - money, career and opportunities bestowed upon him by inheriting the family business Russel & Co. Oliver can't believe how much he appreciates Olivia's company and desires her to be a permanent fixture in his life.

Meet Me in London is a light-hearted Christmas romance portraying the development of forming new relationships through initial attraction, connection, love and lust. Trigger content for readers may be infertility.

Meet Me in London, is full of warmth and hope!

Victoria works in a Chelsea bar but her passion and love is designing vintage clothes. Her dream of having her own space to sell her own designs. When one night in her bar she meets Oliver, a successful business man that appears to have it all. Oliver needs Victoria's help, so he has a deal for her.
What happens when this deal starts to feel very real? Will they both be able to work through their pasts and walls they have both put up, in order to have a better future?

I have found myself so invested in these characters, Georgia has made me want to go to the nearest haberdashery (even though I wouldn't be anywhere near as talented as Victoria!), I want to be best friends with Victoria.... and I would like to know where I can find myself an Oliver please.

Congratulations to Georgia on a wonderful debut! & I hope they are many more!

Join Victoria and Oliver as they meet in Chelsea. Both carrying around a suitcase of guilt for very different reasons. Whilst nursing a whiskey in the pub next to his new store, Oliver, sees Victoria (the bar manager) for the first time. He's had a bad day but here is something about her that pulls Oliver to her. As last orders are called he proposes to her, which, of course, she laughs off.

The next day, they bump into each other, quite literally, sending Victoria's box of fabric and ribbon scattering across the pavement. Checking that she is OK, they strike up a conversation and chat about the new store. Which Oliver neglects to mention he is the owners son and will be running it. They take a trip inside, with Victoria discovering the haberdashery dept. However, Oliver is rumbled by a workman who says hello to him. Furious Victoria leaves.

As Oliver attempts to make it up to her, she goes to see him at the store and after a Frank exchange they come to an unlikely agreement. He will help the local businesses and she will pretend to be his fiancee for one night only.

What follows is a journey through attraction, overcoming guilt and learning how to chase dreams.

Meet Me in London is the perfect escape that you will not be able to put down and likely will read in just one sitting. The story sweeps you away with it's lovely, flow and it's strong and relatable characters. It's a book to read curled up in front of the fire or in the bath, as it's like one big warm hug. Really nice and easy read.
