This was a moving account of 15 survivors, who rose from the ashes despite their difficulties, and now share their struggles, sacrifices, and successes in the path of navigating mental health. I found this to be particular touching and have saved for my own use:

"That period I call winter, when life seemed unbearable and I found myself crying silently on peripheries slightly beyond the city, I thought about being unwittingly complicit in the disappearance of a woman I used to know. Who looked just like me. What I had left was her excavated bones, which I was forcing myself to survey in order o kick-start my own resurrection."
- Irenosen Okojie

The writing style of each of them are beautiful and made for a unique reading experience. I took great insight from them all and more importantly, great support. Even the most difficult subjects were taken on with such grace. I have completed the book feeling eternally grateful.

A thoroughly enjoyable and insightful collection of essays covering mental health. I thought the variety of subjects covered was brilliant and kept the readers interest.

The writing throughout was consistently strong and beautifully yet bravely honest given the personal nature of the subject matter.

Personally the essays entitled Eight and A Disappearing Act held particular resonance with me, providing words to feelings I’ve struggled to describe.

Excellent collection of essays.
