Thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest reveiw.

This is the first time I've come across Rosie Chambers, but the cover appealed to me, and like so many other books I've read recently it was set in Cornwall. An enjoyable easy read. Would be perfect for reading on a beach - if we were allowed to go on holiday in 2020 but we're not so it was perfect for reading cosied up in the house looking at the rain!

Lovely book to read. It was a delightful read. Perfect location. Great plot and nice characters. What’s not to love. Love the writers style of writing. It was very well written

Could not connect with this story because it just felt so sob-y and then everything that could be ramped up to entertain this sob-fest idea just got amplified. Also not a fan of too-stupid heroines who also make a huge mess at work without realizing it. Maybe I'm getting too old for these young types of heroines, but I found myself not having much patience for Katie and could thus not get through the book to enjoy it

This has been on my TBR pile for quite some time now. For some reason I kept on pushing it further back in my pile and once I started reading it, I had no idea why. I've never read a novel by this author before but the cover blew me away and made me want to read it. I love the ombre sky with all the pretty flowers surrounding it, and then the house right on the beach is just beautiful.

The story itself was really interesting and I'm glad I decided to give this read a go. The style of writing reminded me heavily of Daisy James, who is another go-to author of mine. It's a quirky style of writing, but one that I can't stop reading! So, onto the storyline itself. We follow Katie, who has just had a devastating break-up from ex-fiance Dominic. She flies to Bali to lick her wounds and there is where she meets Agatha who helps non-privileged children to learn basic skills which will help them in their future. Agatha used to own a cafe in Cornwall and decides that she doesn't ever want to leave Bali so gives Katie the keys and asks her to run it for her. And if it ever makes any profit, to send some back to her so she can continue to help those in need.

Katie arrives at the cafe and realises she has her work cut out as it's been sitting empty for over 6 months. However, not long after Katie even had her foot in the door did property developer Greg wrestle his way in and demand to know where Agatha is so he can purchase the property and turn it into a holiday complex. Soon, next door neighbour and artist Oscar comes to the rescue and Katie and Oscar get on like a house on fire.

There were some times in the novel where it got a bit repetitive about Katie's 'demons' and how she cleans to get rid of them and there are also some moments in this book that I found to be a little cringe-worthy and slightly unrealistic but it was a nice, lighthearted novel which I did enjoy and shall look out for more novels by this author in the future. The characters were all unique and eccentric (especially Talia, although she was a firm favourite of mine in the end!) and I really liked reading about the themed-nights and their relationships.

Overall, a light and easy read. Thank you to the publisher for a chance to read an advance copy of this novel via Netgalley, which I have reviewed honestly.

During a chance meeting in Bali, master cake decorator Katie begins working for Agatha at her training school for young women in need of employment opportunities.

When it’s time for Katie to return home to England Agatha offers her the gift of a lifetime, to caretake her cafe in a beautiful seaside town. Kate is reluctant as her self confidence has taken a battering, however upon meeting the local villagers she finds peace and a sense of belonging.

An uplifting journey of self discovery and believing in yourself.

I really loved this book so much so I couldn't put it down. I felt so sorry for Katie. having been jilted, She then headed off to Bali where she made a good friend in Agatha who gave her the chance to start her life over in a little cafe in Cornwall. Great setting, great story of success over adversity. It really was a feel good read. I loved it and would highly recommend it.

After a lot of blog tour reading and flying through a book day i had hit a massive massive reading slump, didn't want to read and couldn't find anything to read but i was also desperate to read. I picked up a few books but nothing hit the spot and then i remembered i had the arc of Katie's Cornish Kitchen.

I love a Cornish kitchen book everytime and can we just admire how beautiful the cover is. Its just something else. Its a beauty. The book itself is just what i needed right now. Delightful, full of glorious cake, lots of tea and fun events. Throw in a love interest and a bit of old heartache and you have the perfect read for me.

Katie fled her home after loosing her job and her fiance ditching her and spending all their wedding savings. Whilst in Bali she meets Agatha, the pair form a close bon and Agatha soon offers Katie the chance of a lifetime. Her cafe in Cornwall needs a refresh and it has 3 months of bills all pre paid so all Katie has to do is set about managing it. Easy enough, but turning a profit is proving harder than she thought but with the help of the community and a bunch of after hours events, the dream is seeming ever closer but all that could be pulled away with the ever visiting property developers.

I simply loved this, it had just the right amount of drama but plenty of emotion. My heart went out to Katie so much who was trying to do the right thing by everyone around her. She was a kind and friendly soul who deserved all the luck in the world. This was a light hearted read that felt good for the soul and i so desperately wanted to visit Katies Cornish Kitchen and the bit of eye candy next door wasnt a bad thing either. Rosie created relationships between the characters that you were invested in. Not only romantic ones but friendship ones too and they were really the heart of this book.

This is out now if you want to get a copy here

Thank you NetGalley, HQ Digital and Rosie Chambers for gifting me an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
If you’re in the mood for a feel good, HAE romance, look no further! This cute and uplifting story follows Katie as she travels from Bali to Perriby in the UK to reopen a friend’s bakery. She’s in the middle of a life crisis after her fiance runs off with their wedding money and screens her calls, only made worse by the fact that Katie recently lost her job.
Katie was sweet and relatable. She worked hard while leaning on friends for help and advice when she needed it. After my last read, which had a very annoying and self-centered lead, the characters of Katie’s Cornish Kitchen were a breath of fresh air.
Honestly my only complaint was the ending. The way they tossed in Oscar’s big reveal was random and honestly just not even necessary for the plot!

Loved this book and actually had me reflecting on my own life experiences with my relationship with my dad as there were definitely similarities. The many characters in this story will make you smile and fill your heart with warmth. Makes me want to visit Cornwall and sit with my book in a little teashop eating cake

This is a really sweet and uplifting story of second chances, fresh starts and how important good, true friends are to a person just when they need it most. I am a sucker for a second chance story, it’s always so satisfying when all comes well for them in the end and this is no different.
I really liked it, yes it was predictable from the off but, with so much uncertainty in the world we need light, enjoyable good fun and a romantic escape, don’t we?
Katie suffers the worst betrayal, jilted by her no-good fiancé she decided to do what any down on her luck not quite bride to be done and tries to fix the fractured heart in sunnier climes. In Katie’s case, she goes to Bali where she meets an old friend; Agatha who is running her own restaurant out there. Personally, I think this part of the story is a little slow, but still a great opening.
Seeing just how down and vulnerable Katie is Agatha offers her friend the second chance she needs, she offers Katie he opportunity to run her old café in Perinby, which is a beautiful little village in Cornwall. Katie knows this is the fresh start and soon agrees, to be honest, who wouldn’t snatch such a chance up? But, can Katie not only find her feet and allow herself to love and live again but also to make a success of the café?
I was instantly pulled into Katie’s world, in fact, that happened from the cover and back blurb alone. I adore this cover, it is so pretty and striking and it works really well with the story, it fits in with Katie’s adventure perfectly, which is another thing I love, I think that matching the cover with the actual story engages us, readers, even more, it’s a visualisation of what is going to happen in the story – now whether that was purposely done by the art department with this book or it’s just my overactive imagination picking up on things that aren’t there, I don’t know, but blimey it perfect!
I love the close-knit circle of friends that Katie soon collects; Jay, Talia and Oscar are so different, and to be honest, you would never think that such an eclectic group of people could be such good friends but they are and they bring a burst of energy and a little quirkiness to the story, which I really liked and I loved getting to know them as the story unfolds. I do like a strong and eclectic mix of supporting characters, I think that when they are written with such clarity and realism as Jay, Talia and Oscar are, they bring a whole new depth to the story.
Like Rosie’s previous book ‘The Year of Chasing Love‘ this is the perfect feel-good, thoughtful, relaxing weekend read, one that you can settle down on a dull rainy day and just allow yourself to be pulled in and escape whatever is going on in your world for a few blissful hours.
I love Rosie’s writing, she has a really easy to read writing style that makes the reader instantly drawn into her stories. I loved the descriptions of Cornwall, every scene is so beautifully written and so clear you can see Katie’s little café in your mind, it’s like you are falling into Katie’s Cornwall.
Katie’s Cornish Kitchen is an adorable, feel-good, inspiring, hopeful and hugely enjoyable book all about grabbing your future and taking the chance for happiness. The characters are well developed and full of quirky charm. It’s well-paced with sadness and happiness and a few surprises are thrown in for good measure, I thoroughly enjoyed!

This is definitely a feel good story that would make a good beach or backyard-lounge chair read this summer!

Katie Campbell is heartbroken. Her fiance Dominic went to Ibiza for his bachelor weekend, and decided not to return to their home in England so he could pursue his dreams of a music career. Unfortunately, he makes the decision and doesn't tell Katie. She doesn't realize his intentions until he doesn't return from Ibiza. When she tries to call him for an explanation, he refuses to pick up her calls. To make matters worse, he emptied their joint bank account of the money that was to be used for their wedding reception. As if she doesn't already have enough problems, she's fired from her job as an assistant to a celebrity cake decorator when she makes an error in delivering a birthday cake to a soap opera star.

After she finishes the embarrassing and distressing task of cancelling their wedding plans and notifying friends and family that there will be no wedding, she decides to take a trip to Bali, where she lives for a couple of months and makes friends with Agatha, a restaurant owner who also runs culinary classes for underprivileged youth. Agatha takes Katie under her wing and slowly helps her overcome her misery and sadness.

When it's time for Katie to return to England, Agatha gifts her with a surprise: the opportunity to take over her business: Agatha's Beachside Cafe in the small Cornish seaside town of Perrinby. The cafe has been vacant since Agatha left the town to develop her business in Bali. The idea intrigues Katie, who has always dreamed of owning her own restaurant or bakery where she could create delicious dishes highlighting locally-sourced ingredients and highlight her cake decorating artistry. She agrees to re-open the cafe for a trial period of three months.

She falls in love with Perrinby, and quickly finds herself becoming involved with the town and its quirky and fun-loving occupants, including Javier (Jay), the artistically extravagant gay owner of the floral shop; Talia, the astrology-loving high school student who loves to create and wear quirky hats; exuberant Ruby, who runs the hair salon, and Zoe, the wedding dress designer and 'bride whisperer.'

She also meets her next door neighborhood Oscar, who she describes as a "blond Aidan Turner." He owns and runs the town's art gallery, which is filled with his paintings and ceramic pieces.

To help the cafe re-establish itself in the community, Katie holds a variety of onsite events and activities, including "soup and song nights," a woman's pamper night, a book club event, a knitting club meeting, a floral design demonstration (led by Jay), and many other things. It gives her a chance to meet many of Perrinby's residents and they quickly embrace her as part of the community. She also discovers a growing attraction to Oscar, but he seems to be hiding a secret and she occasionally notices a deep sadness in his eyes.

Everything is going well and Katie is considering a permanent move to Perrinby. Then Dominic, the disappearing fiance, reappears in her life, and wants to get back together.

Katie has a decision to make. Will she remain in Perrinby, where she's developed strong friendships and a positive reputation within the community, or will she move to Ibiza to be with Dominic? And what about her growing feelings for her artist neighbor Oscar?

I really enjoyed this book. The author, Rosie Chambers, is gifted with the talent of using words that evoke descriptive images in the reader's mind. I love some of the phrases she uses throughout the book, like "the sleep fairies had eluded her," when describing a night when Katie was suffering from insomnia, and "added another golden coin of contentment to her depleted coffers," when describing how Katie did something that helped her build up her self confidence.

I especially loved the way that Chambers created a strong community feeling in this book. All the businesses in Perrinby worked together to help Katie make the cafe a success. The support among the villagers and business owners was wonderful.

The cakes, muffins and other goodies featured in the cafe made my mouth water. The author included a couple of recipes at the end of the book, which I will be making.

My only criticism of the book? I felt it ended a bit abruptly. I wondered what happened when Katie and Oscar shared their "discovery" with Agatha, and whether Katie was able to keep the cafe open after the three months were over. I guess I just like my stories completely wrapped up, so I know the final outcome with the main characters. But despite this, I still recommend this uplifting read!

What a wonderful story from start to finish, first in Bali and then Cornwall with a lovely twist at the end. I would love to live in and work in the Cornish Kitchen to be part of their lives. Very well written and well worth the 5 stars that I am giving it. All the characters played their parts so well and what a mixture there was, the village really came to life. Well done Rosie Chambers, loved this.

I received this as an ARC in return for an honest review.

A great read, the story of Katie, who has ended up in Cornwall by way of Bali after been dumped just before her wedding.
She has doubts she can make the cafe work out, but soon makes an eclectic bunch of friends!
