Really good read. Would recommend to friends and family. I could sympathise with characters (important for any fiction novel!) and looked forward to picking it up and reading the next few chapters! Interesting plot line and a good ending. Will look out for more novels by the author. Thank you.

I absolutely loved this book which is based in Cornwall. It’s a light hearted story which isn’t predictable & is filled with hope & all things food. A lovely read and one of my first by this author, I shall definitely be reading more.

Cute story. Definitely enjoyed it and would give it 3.5 stars. Was it predictable ? Yes. Was it a feel good book that left me smiling? Yes. I love books that take place in a bakery, bookshop or cafe. Agatha was the perfect person for Katie to meet. Katie lucked out when her fiancé decided to stay in Ibiza and call off the wedding. He didn't sound like a great man to marry. He drained their wedding savings account and wouldn't contact her. If she would have married him, she would never have met Agatha or got the opportunity to run the cafe or meet such great friends. That cafe was the best thing for Katie. Perrinby sounded like a lovely and charming place to live, with the shops and the people. Not to mention the handsome Oscar who happened to have an art gallery right next to the cafe. Katie's mix up of the cakes was pretty funny, it wasn't the worst thing to happen and no one ate it before realizing what it was really made of.

Definitely recommend the book. It was a fun story with great characters. I definitely want to go to one of Jay's flower arranging classes. He seemed like a great friend to have, plus he always had his dog with him. Then there was Talia. i never knew what she would be wearing. She had a unique sense of style. This was the first book I read by the author and I look forward to reading more. I loved the cover of the book.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from HQ Digital through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This is the second book by Rosie Chambers that I have reviewed, and I can honestly say, I like this author.
Over recent months, I have read a lot of books which feature Cornwall and I am dying to visit. Perrinby sounds like the perfect village and I wish it was real!
From the outset, I felt as though Katie deserved to find success. Taking the brave leap to move to Cornwall and re-ignite a once successful business would be a challenge for anyone but, with no business experience, this was a huge decision.
The supporting cast were all fine characters who, if Rosie Chambers fancied, could make for a terrific series. I’d love to learn even more about Jay’s florist shop, Ruby’s salon, The Hope and Anchor and Talia’s adventures in Bali and Australia!
This is a gentle story which builds perfectly to the pre-requisite happy ending. As Katie learned more about herself, her confidence grew and so did her ability to examine her past. Not all strong women realise their power immediately. Sometimes, it takes a crisis to reveal one’s true nature.
This book is a joy to read and I hope that Katie’s Cornish Kitchen is a roaring success!

Katie moves to Perrinby, Cornwall to run her friend's abandoned cafe after her own fiance goes on his stag weekend and doesn't come back, taking their joint wedding savings with him. She has three months to make the cafe work but, with crippling self-doubt and an over-eager property developer in the mix, things won't be easy. Will she find a place to call home or will this be another failure to add to her battered self-esteem?
First of all I want to say I absolutely loved Perrinby with its community atmosphere and focus on paying things forward. There are some great characters in Jay and the wonderful Talia and Oscar is a worthy hero of the book. Katie was generally a great character- definitely likeable but the ease at which she switches to doom and gloom and feelings that she should just give up become a little wearing after a while.
The plot is great, if a little predictable but the last chapter seems to leave a lot unresolved.
Great summer read but not totally satisfying.

Katie’s Cornish Kitchen by Rosie Chambers., I am always a bit hesitant about reading books like this by new authors, as I think there are a lot of books like this out there that write books like this really well, that seem to have got it right. I think when you now write something like this, you have to do so with strength and passion, there has to be something different, something to hook the reader in and this unfortunately can only be described as bland at best. To be honest if it had not been a Net Gallery book I probably wouldn’t have finished it.

This whole story felt like I had read it before, it was very predictable, right from the beginning and I you already kind of know what you are getting with this type of book but for me this was just to obvious to soon, right from the very first page. The main character is Katie who moves to Cornwall after a really bad break up and it’s her story of bringing this cafe back to life and the community surrounding it. Katie’s journey in doing this feels to easy, everything seems to fall into place just to easily. I didn’t connect with Katie as a character, there was something lacking and I didn’t have a belief in the characters that you get with good strong & well written characters.Katie’s character comes across as very naive and I don’t think this in intended by the author, she seems to miss so much potential that is under her noise and that as the reader I thought she was capable of seeing. There seems seems to be a lot of niceness in this story, Katie has 3 months to save this cafe, to make a profit, which I find slightly unbelievable in it being doable however considering her lively hood could be at risk, she seems to be doing a lot of nice things for other people and the community that turning a profit and saving the Cafe was from the very beginning never going to happen in 3 months in my opinion for e.g. Oscar goes really quiet towards Katie, after previously leaving her in the cafe all excited about what’s to come next, however Katie barley notices and it’s other people that ask if they’ve had a disagreement. I just found it hard to believe that Katie wouldn’t have noticed to the point that others had to suggest there was perhaps something wrong. I could go on and on about the inconsistencies I felt this book had about it’s lack of warmth and generally why I didn’t like this book however it just wasn’t for me. In theory this book has me written all over it and had it been on the shelf I feel sure my husband would have said this would be my kind of book. It had all the right ingredients, the setting and the concept, there was just no hook, there was nothing that made it stand out from a very busy book shelf unfortunately. I read once before ‘that there is never a bad book, it just wasn’t a good book for you’ and this was certainly the case here. I have my favourite authors whom write these books well, over and over again but for me this just wasn’t an enjoyable read and felt hard work even having to think about picking the kindle up and reading. All this isn’t to say that someone else reading this is will feel the same but sadly I won’t be recommending it to anyone.

This book just didn't work well for me, although the descriptions of the food/desserts did allow me to give it its third star. The descriptions of the young waitress' hats and clothes were also quite enjoyable.

Too many unresolved subplots, not enough consideration for how long it takes to bake the massive number of cakes that the protagonist had to make, too many repeated internal musings and conversations. It all led me to the demoralizing practice of skimming in order to get to more enjoyable sections of the book.

Katie is such a fantastic and likeable main character, you can't help but feel for her when she experiences the ultimate betrayal from her fiancé. This is a heartwarming story where Katie goes off on honeymoon- minus the groom.
This has been the escape I've needed, where better to do that than between the pages where you can disappear to Bali. I haven't been able to put this book down, nor have I wanted to. The author has very quickly pulled me in and I have found this read more enjoyable than this author's previous book.
This is such a lovely summery read which allows you to escape and switch off, I definitely will be recommending this book to others. I have to give this book five stars, although I do wish I could rate this higher to show how fantastic a read this book is.

The story begins in beautiful Bali, where Katie escaped to after being dumped by her fiancé. She seemed to be having a run of bad luck when her best friend Cara recommended that she took a break and Bali seemed like the best solution to lick her wounds.

Little did Katie know that this trip to Bali helps her to mend her heartache and find a new chapter in her life with the help of Agatha, an owner of a beachside café.

I'll be honest this is just my type of book. It is easy to read and I love the idea of new beginnings mixed with romance. Rosie carries the storyline throughout perfectly. The mix of characters in the Cornish village I could picture in my mind very easily and the mix of characters work brilliantly together to tell the story of Katie.

One thing I will say I the ending felt a bit rushed, everything tied up quite quickly. Yet don't let this take you away from a lovely book to escape to, a perfect poolside read. the descriptions of the Cornish coast made me want to escape there myself! whilst the ending was quite short, it did leave me wondering what's next - how does it actually all work out say a year later. There is room for 2nd novel in my opinion.

This book is for you if you like quick page turners with romance and escapism.

Would I recommend this book ..... yes, I enjoyed it and I wanted to know more.

They say the path of true love never runs smoothly and it certainly seems the case for Katie. After mending her broken heart in Bali, Katie is given the opportunity to run a cafe in the beautiful village of Perrinby. She quickly makes friends with the local residents and other business owners and is determined to make a success of the cafe. Although as with most things in life, it isn’t plain sailing. This book will certainly warm your heart and make you hungry as it transports you to the Cornish coast. Well written and definitely a page turner. Thank you to NetGalley, HQ Digital and the author for the chance to review.

This is the first book that I have read by Rosie Chambers and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. It has a very good storyline and feel good factor which we all need at this difficult time. I was transported to Cornwall which sounded idyllic. I would definitely recommend this book as an excellent form of escapism. I can’t wait to read any other books that Rosie Chambers has written.

This is one of those books that when you start you do not want to put down and I didn’t read it in a day. I loved how Katie’s character didn’t see herself, how others see her. She puts herself before others due to having a broken relationship with her dad. A wonderful story of love, loss, friendship and forgiveness

Predictable from start to finish – yes - but that’s kind of the point with feel-good women’s fiction. Personally I love a story about a down-on-her-luck female throwing herself into a new business venture and village community, whilst making quirky friends and trying to avoid falling in love along the way. And, that’s exactly what I got.

The new business venture was a cafe, the village a picturesque Cornish seaside one, the community spirit provided by village fetes and other events, the friends eclectic Talia and flamboyant Jay, and the love interest local artist Oscar.

This book also delivered some good life lessons. My favourite, which really resounded with me as it echoed advice I was given by a life coach, was Katie’s realisation that you can’t control how other people acted, only your reactions to them. Sadly, though some of the ethical themes such as zero waste, veganism and good karma did feel a bit preachy at times.

This wasn’t a page-turner but it was an uplifting, feel-good story filled with fun, friendship, love and foodie treats – perfect for these current times.

I do love a feel good book that helps you escape for a couple of hours and this was one of those. Lovely story and characters that took you away from it all

Katie has been dumped by her fiancé and goes to Bali until her money runs out. Sent to Cornwall she opens a cafe. Fun collection of characters and enjoyed this one. Didn’t like the realtor but otherwise hard to put down. Highly recommend this book and author.

What a fun summer book! It reminded me of Jenny Colgan books fun with a little romance and a happy ending. I've never read Rosie Chambers before but I will be reading more of her books.
I received an advanced copy thanks to NetGalley and all opinions are my own.

I have never read a Rosie Chambers book before, Thank you HQ & NetGalley for the early copy I am now I fan.

I have spent the morning curled up on the sofa dreaming of being in lovely Perrinby Cornwall.

This is such a light hearted warm fuzzy read that I have just devoured in one sitting.

By page 3 the story with the dog cake I knew I was going to love this story. It was predictable yes but also a joy to read, at one point I was hoping Katie didn't go to Ibiza and glad it went the way it did.

Can't wait to read more from Rosie.

Katie's Cornish Kitchen is a heartwarming and light romance with plenty of fun, quirky and engaging characters. The plot was perhaps a bit predictable as romances often are, but it was still an enjoyable read.
