Unfortunately this didn't suck me in like I had hoped. I loved the sound of it. A jilted fiance goes after the best man as a way to get over it, that stuff is right up my alley. Unfortunately I found myself skimming alot of it and not really very interested in it. It didn't hook me and felt kind of flat. The story just felt a bit boring and it sadly wasn't one for me.

The Best Man plan by Jaci Burton

Erin is the jilted bride and Jason is the best man. Jason, Erin and Owen, the disappearing groom, have all been best friends since children. Jason has always been secretly in love with Erin. He is there to pick up the pieces but refuses to have a fling with Erin on the rebound.

Lovely fun easy read. An old good read with a little twist here and there.

This was such a fun, endearing book to read!. The main characters Erin and Jason were wonderful and so likeable, along with the secondary characters, who added an extra layer to the story.
The storyline was delightful and fun, and following the romance of Erin and Jason as it began to blossom was lovely.

This was such a fun read, it was very light and easy to read. The main characters Jason and Erin were very likable characters and they were able to make me more invested in their romance. Jason was such a adorable love interest!

I really enjoyed The Best Man Plan, the romance plot line was really intriguing and I really liked to see it.

It's been a hot moment since I've read a contemporary romance with so much fun and light angst overall.
I enjoyed it quite a lot, the family dynamics, the friends to lovers plot, great banter and steamy scenes, everything was well mixed for a great few hours of reading in a Saturday afternoon.
It actually felt like seeing a Hallmark movie with a happily ever after.
I'm looking foreword to the next books in the series because the secondary characters have done a great impression on me in this book.

Very grateful to the publisher and NetGalley for my review copy.

‘The Best Man Plan’ is a romance book following Erin and Jason, who decide to become ‘friends-with-benefits’ after Erin is dumped two days before her wedding by Jason’s best friend Owen.

I read this book in a few hours, which is pretty typical for me when it comes to romance books. There were things I did like about this book, for example, I liked a lot of the scenes/dates between Erin and Jason, especially the part of the book where they went fishing together. I also liked how this book was told in duel POV’s so I was able to see both Erin and Jason’s feelings.

I do think that the chemistry between Jason and Erin was lacking a little bit. Sometimes they had chemistry but other times I did not believe that they actually liked each other and maybe it was because they spent most of the book apart from each other. Another thing I did not like was Erin’s character during the first 20/30% of the book. I hated that she was constantly asking for Jason to have sex with her and would not accept that he did not want to do that at the beginning of the book, which then led to her getting angry at him because he said no to having sex with her and then he had to apologise to her.

Overall, this was an okay romance book once I got past the 30% mark of the book, which is when I started enjoying this book a bit more. I’d recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the friends-to-lovers trope, in particular if you loved the book ‘99 Percent Mine’ by Sally Thorne as this book kind of reminded me of that book.

Absolutely adored this book which follows Erin who’s fiancé left her a few days before her wedding with no real explanation. She has been friends with Owens best man Jason since she was a kid and their relationship seems to be developing into something more.

I loved the chemistry between the two in this novel - they were so cute.

Would read a Burton book again 👍🏻

This was a bit slow going in the beginning, it took me a while to really get into things but once I did it was an enjoyable read.

Erin was a little all over the place with her emotions. Which I actually quite liked because it made sense. Everything she thought she knew has been completely upended, she has a wedding day and no groom to share it with. I did think the party idea was a bit strange but I went with it.

I didn’t particularly Erin’s idea to have a ‘revenge fling’ with the best man, Jason. A man who happens to also be one of her best friends.

I did absolutely adore Jason. He was so lovely and understanding with Erin, he was always patient with her and some of things he came out with had me swooning. Jason has had feelings for Erin for a long time and I liked how he wouldn’t settle for Erin’s idea of little fling, he wanted her for real. I love a bit of pining and Jason had that down to a T.

It was a bit slow in places, and there was a lot of build up for relationships that will take place in the following books, I did find it a bit overmuch at times. Although I did enjoy reading about Erin’s relationship with her sisters, I thought that was brilliantly well done, and I’m looking forward to Brenna’s book!

Overall this was a very cute book that was full of sisterly friendship and a lovely friends-to-lovers romance.

This is a friend to lovers romance that is unlike anything I have read with that trope if I am being honest. Owen is a runaway groom and his best man and best friend is Jason. Erin turns to Jason in the aftermath and she starts out wanting a revenge fling with Jason. I didn't love this and one of the issues I had with this is that she tried to start this on what would have been her wedding day. It just seemed far too soon, especially when she was crying and obviously upset about the situation just a few hours before.

But having said that, their romance did change within a few chapters as she started to realise her feelings. I did really like Jason and how he wasn't interested in a revenge fling with Erin as he had liked her for years as they had been friends since they were little. Jason is super swoony, I liked how he was patient with Erin throughout the book, and he was my favourite character in the book. I loved that he was a vet and how much he loved animals. I also liked his plot with renovating is house more than I liked Erin's plot.

I do feel like this book was too long and it did get repetitive at times, it could have been 100 pages shorter and still told the same story. Some of the dialogue between characters didn't seem realistic and was forced at times. I was really frustrated with how long it took for Erin to talk to Owen about why he ran away right before what would have been their wedding and I honestly wasn't a fan of the reasoning. It seemed unnecessary for the plot. I know it might sound like I hated this book but I didn't!

This is a cute book, and I really liked a lot of the characters, but I found myself bored pretty quickly and really had to push myself to finish the book. It seemed to have a lot of potential, but lacked any major excitement, I was expected a lot more twists.

3 stars!

My feelings for this book are a bit torn. It was fast paced and sweet and really easy to read, but also it didn't completely wow me as I was expecting it to. It started out so fast and halfway through it seemed to be losing itself a bit. The unexpected twists were a great touch but I felt that a lot of the story was just repeating itself.

Erin Bellini's wedding is broken off three days before the big date by her fiance in an e-mail. Furious and hurt, Erin decides the best way to get through this tough period of her life is to have a fling with childhood best friend Jason. However, Jason has been in love with Erin for the longest time and would rather take things slow so none of them end up hurt.

Some of the most enjoyable, lovable and sweet moments in this novel are between Erin and Jason whilst they recount their childhood memories. This was overall a good and enjoyable novel with really sweet and steamy moments.

It's a good read for someone looking to quickly escape into the wonderful world of childhood love, friends, pets and weddings.

This was a nice enough read, but it just didn’t wow me or feel anything special, I think the problem for me was I didn’t feel any love or chemistry for the characters or between them. So that’s always a non starter in a romance for me. I have read books by Jack before and loved them, so just hoping it’s me that didn’t click with this book

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

I enjoyed this book but I just didn't feel like it was anything special. The writing was great and the characters were likeable, it just bugged me thst these two people, who had been friends since they were kids, didn't realise they loved each other until they started having sex. Thst was it. I didn't feel that anything else in their relationship changed besides the sex and when everything hot resolved with Owen, I felt like Erin was a bit too chill about it all. You're telling me she was too busy to realise she didn't love the guy? Please.
I'll read this author again ad I enjoyed the writing and the characters but tye storyline just wasn't for me. 2.5stars

Erin’s fiancé (Owen) turns cold feet and breaks up with her over the email when their wedding is in two days. Erin just wants to feel validated so she turns to their (Erin and Owen) best friend Jason for a revenge fling. However, Jason has liked Amy since their childhood and he doesn’t want to ruin the friendship just for a one-night stand. They both decide to just take it casually and not open up their hearts. But Erin soon finds herself falling for him but keeps denying it. Owen suddenly texts her one good day and she later decides to meet him finally. Once she meets him everything she came prepared for is out of the way!

The story I don’t know how much liked as in the love story between the best man and the bride. I figured out why Owen cancelled the wedding when their Other best friend Clay kept talking about how Owen ran away before the wedding was out of the character! I liked Jason’s character but I don’t know something put me off as they were all best friends and without knowing Owen’s side of story Erin and Jason were all over each other. I was so mad at Erin towards the end like yes she could be confused after knowing everything but feeling responsible and ignore Jason ughh I hated her for that.

Overall, it’s a quick, enjoyable and easy read as I finished it in one sitting. Thankyou to Netgalley and Headline for the e-arc.

Off to a dramatic start when Erin is left two days before her wedding. Jason her childhood friend is on hand to help pick up the pieces but not to be her rebound fling. Friendship, trust and loyalty intermix with steamy sex scenes.

Two days before her wedding Erin receives an email from her fiancée, Owen. Informing her that he can't go through with the wedding and that he is heading off on their two-week honeymoon to Aruba alone. Confused and angry she decides to continue with the wedding reception but as a nonwedding reception - after all, everything is paid for, might as well enjoy it.

Jason is Erin and Owen's best friend, they have all known each other since they were kids. He is on the phone to Erin when she reads Owen's email. Immediately he tries but fails to make contact Owen but heads over to see Erin to access how she is and if there is anything he can do.

During the nonwedding reception, Erin is dressed to impress and thinks that the best way to get over Owen is by having a revenge fling. And who better to have this with, than Jason. However, Jason doesn't want a fling, he wants Erin, he always has. Letting her down gently and explaining that this isn't the best idea she a little put out but can understand where he is coming from.

With more and more time spent together over the weeks that follow, they grow close and that 'fling' happens between them. But is it just a fling? Is Erin over Owen? Can she learn to love again? What happens when Owen finally decides to make contact?

The Best Man Plan by Jaci Burton a four-star read that goes surprisingly well to plan. I enjoyed this story I really did, it was nearly a five-star read, it just felt a little slow in parts and then rushed at the end, but overall I did enjoyed this story. Erin Bellini was a great character, I really enjoyed her and her family, I hope we get to hear more from them, they all have a special place in this story. Jason was a sweetie, you could tell he was giving his all and he would do anything for those he loves, even if it means stepping aside, but will he need to do that? This will take you on a romantic journey and surprise you in the best ways, there are twists to keep you hooked and great characters that keep you entertained.

Really good read. Would recommend to friends and family. I could sympathise with characters (important for any fiction novel!) and looked forward to picking it up and reading the next few chapters! Interesting plot line and a good ending. Will look out for more novels by the author. Thank you.
