Things I Liked:
-This book helped me realize that I am a sucker for a "pretend not to like you" turned lovers romance. I'm not sure if there is an actual term for when the guy pretends not to be interested when he is actually very interested, but I love it!
-The strong, tough, & protective (but sweet & cuddly with his girl) nature of Colin was *chef's kiss*. I'm a suck for this type of male lead in books.
-I thought that the author did a great job of displaying how life helps
-The author's writing style really helps the reader connect to the feelings of the characters.
-The angst was just enough to keep me hooked without feeling super frustrated.
-I loved the redemption of Colin & Gracie in the end. <3

Things That Didn't Sit Quite Right With Me:
-NOTHING.

Overall, I loved this book & I gave it 5 stars!

Wow. This book was absolutely incredible and kept me up until 3:30 in the morning reading! This was an incredibly beautiful story and kept me invested and engaged the entire time!!! I loved every single word of this book! Colin and Gracie are absolutely wonderful characters and you can’t help but fall in love with them immediately! I can’t wait for everyone to read this when it comes out!! Thank you so much Rae for letting me be on your ARC team!

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book!

I absolutely love the style of this author's writing, and I was drawn to the characters from the very beginning. Not only does this novel have a captivating romance, but the secondary characters are very unique and brought so much extra life to the book.

The romance itself drew me in. Gracie and Colin were a little bit enemies to lovers, and I'm *always* up for that trope. Their chemistry was off the charts, and I literally found myself feverishly paging through to see how they would get their happy ending.

This is my first Rae Kennedy book, but it surely won't be my last.

Every once in a while a romance comes along and rips the rug right out from under me. This is that romance. Hands down, the best romance I've read this year so far!⠀

The angst is so intense and raw that when they finally get together it left me squealing with giddiness!!⠀

I cried, I squealed, I sighed and I LOVED every single word of it! When I finished this (in one sitting I might add) I couldn't stop smiling for a long while because I just loved the romance between the two characters and how it built up to one heck of a crescendo. ⠀

I also absolutely adored how the band interacted with the lead character, Gracie. They were so attentive towards her and became quite protective over her and those relationships were beautiful to read about.⠀

The writing is gorgeous and I am so grateful to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to review this book, otherwise I don't think I would have found this author this soon. ⠀

If you love romances involving musicians, road trips and intense angst then PICK THIS UP! Even if you don't, pick it up anyway. ⠀

This is actually book three in the series but can be read as a standalone. You can bet your bottom dollar that I am definitely going to read the rest of the series this instant!

This series just keeps getting better and better. I’m so invested in all of these characters that Rae Kennedy writes. I couldn’t get enough of Colin and Gracie in “To Be Your Last.) I mean, who doesn’t love a romance story about a girl who goes on tour with a band and ends up falling for the lead singer. It was just so fun! Colin is my life pretty much my dream man, I would follow him and his band around the country anyday.

Thanks you NetGalley, the publisher and Rae Kennedy for gifting me with this copy.

Thank you NetGalley, RAKE publishing and Rae Kennedy for gifting me an advance copy of this book in advance for my honest review.
As a HUGE fan of the NA genre, I was excited to see this one on NetGalley. It’s strangely hard to find New Adult books, even harder to find ones that are readable. I expected this book to be a little on the cheesy side with a few cliches, but I still rolled my eyes a few times. The virgin plot line is just kind of... bleh. I think it could have been done more tastefully but at the same time, I don’t think the target audience of this type of book cares about those types of things. If you’re looking for a lighter, quick chick lit with some steam this is your next read!

A beautiful story or firsts and the heartbreak when one lets the other go. A fun, sexy and confusing ride following a virgin and her fake rockstar boyfriend that doesn't really act all that fake and what happens when feelings enter the lie.
Got to this series late so will check out the first two books but really hope the other bandmates get their own stories.
I received an advanced copy from Netgalley for my honest review.

Unfortunately I couldn't connect with this book. If I'm honest, the characters made me feel like I was reading a bunch of teenagers and I didn't feel any connection between the heroine and hero of this novel. I was very interested, but at the end this book didn't satisfy my curiosity and left me expecting more than I hoped for.

eARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for honest review.

Okay this is going to be brief but let me just start by saying rarely give 5 stars for a romance/NA novel. So this is more like 4.5 stars but that’s just me being very picky!

I read book one in this series as an eARC and seriously fell in love with it. That one did get the full 5 stars but it was the first time in a long time that I’d given that rating to a NA Romance (that wasn’t Colleen Hoover). I wasn’t as enamoured by book two but I sill really enjoyed it. This is a typical series in this genre where the characters are connected but the books can be read as stand alone. Skit was great to see little peaks of past characters.

Once again, with To Be Your Last, Kennedy has struck that delicious delicate balance between sweet and sexy and then injected just the right amount of steam exactly where you want it. This is fast becoming her signature style and I am here for it! Her leading ladies are always likeable and relatable in some way, and her guys are, well, definitely my type. They may well be a little stereotypical characters but personally I love it and don’t care.

So just briefly, the plot! What can I say? it has fake dating, its fun and flirty and has a hot AF rock star with a road trip and close proximity I honestly think Rae Kennedy’s has just combined everything I love and put it in this book. I don’t really know what more you could even want tbh.

Oh and finally! I made the mistake of reading the teaser chapter for book four which was at the very end of the eARC (I very rarely do this) and good god I need that book ASAP! I NEED Kyla and Eric’s story!

I read book one in this series and I gave it 4 stars. This is the third book and it was very good. I really enjoy Rae Kennedy’s writing style.

This story is about Gracie, Courts (book two) 19 year old sister who runs off with a rock band.
Colin is the lead singer and at first both don’t get along. Gracie is very naive for her age and it gets her into trouble a couple of times.
I did like Colin. He was honest and sexy.
That hotel room scene was hot!

I enjoyed this story and I can’t wait for book 4!!

Gracie is home on the farm for her older sister’s wedding. It turns out the best man is friends with the guys in the hotties rising indie band out right now. Now they are playing here at her sister's wedding.

She wishes she could be more excited, but when her family finds out she bombed out of her first year of college. That she may lose my scholarship and she did get kicked out of her summer intensive program. They will be unhappy.

She has always felt the pressure to measure up being the youngest of five. The best student, cheerleader, and daughter. Being away from home where she was the big fish little pond, well you get it.

When she first makes some serious eye contact with the lead singer who made it feel like he was singing to her. Then, meeting the guitarist Logan who was free a free spirit. And he hears her talking about wanting to travel. He proceeds to invite her on their music tour across the United States.

So, at nineteen, to put off telling her parents she sort of runs away. She meets up with Logan, his twin Dean, and Joey. Who are all happy to have her along. The one holds out is the one she thought she had a connection with, Colin. He is in no uncertain terms saying, no. He loses this round.

This turns into summer she will never forget. Kennedy has well thought out characters, made for sheer fun. But don’t let it fool you this little book can touch in someplace that you aren’t prepared for. But she takes you through but brings the characters back around. She didn’t allow Gracie to be a victim of circumstances.

I give this: 5 stars. Provide by netgalley.com.

The book is told entirely in first person and only from Gracie’s point of view. We’re introduced to all the fabulous supporting characters through her feelings for them and I promise you, every single one of them is fantastic. Kyla, her best friend, is a riot and the kind of friend we should all be so lucky to have. Logan, Dean and Joey, from the band ‘Wicked Road’ are hilarious and wild in their own ways. And Colin, lead singer of Wicked Road, who Gracie locks eyes with at the wedding reception and is drawn to like a moth to a flame.

‘To Be Your Last’ has a whole bunch of plotlines and tropes that I both love and don’t. There’s the virginal heroine, the going on tour with a band you don’t know from Adam and the fake relationship one. So I was skeptical, going in, about how this book would make me feel. And by the 5 stars I’ve given this book, you can be sure that I loved every minute of it.

Rae Kennedy weaves a story so addictive that once you start, you cannot bring yourself to put the book down. Gracie is young and inexperienced in a lot of things, and while her voice can be sometimes cheesy and eye roll worthy, it fits with the kind of person that she is. And you fall in love with everything about Gracie too. If not all of us, some of us can definitely relate to her inner monologues and her feelings and the confusion in her head.

Gracie’s relationship with the band, and then eventually her relationship with Colin, is everything. She sets something off with Logan, who she doesn’t care for in that way, but between Dean, Joey and Logan she has a group of men who will do anything to protect her. And not just because she’s innocent and unknown to their world, but because they genuinely like her. Colin, on the other hand, with his brooding and his deep voice and his beautiful words and his sweet sweet music is the only one that Gracie wants. Even without hearing his voice in this book, you know that he wants her just as much. The gradual build of that relationship, the slow burn that burns so hot from start the finish was just explosive.

One of my favourite things about this book was Colin respecting that Gracie is a virgin and only going at a pace she’s comfortable with. <spoiler>Everything about the way he taught her to bring herself to orgasm to the kissing and touching and the seducing, it was all so beautiful. He never treats her virginity like it’s a joke, because he understands why it’s important to her. Colin doesn’t even jump at the chance to bang her because she put ‘lose my virginity’ on her Fuck-It list. Everything from the first time he shows her how to touch herself to their first time together is just insanely hot and beautiful.

The book starts with a reminder of how Gracie’s story about going on tour is a flashback, but you almost forget that till everything spirals out of control. And when you’re back in the present day, seeing Gracie having grown up two years after she left Wicked Road and Colin, it’s a whole other journey. How do you fall back in love with someone you never stopped loving in the first place? You don’t, you just let yourself fall and hope that they’ll catch you.</spoiler>

The lyrics and the poems and the love that Colin and Gracie share are truly magical. If I could find my own version of Colin singing these songs to me, that’d be great too.

I can’t wait for the next book, but more importantly, I hope we’re getting books for all the boys of Wicked Road. Because I would love to see how things turn out for Logan, Dean and Joey!

4.5⭐

To Be Your Last is the first book I've read in this series and by this author, but it certainly won't be my last. As this story offered something different and it was full of interesting, likable characters, who all grow and develop as the story progresses. And with plenty of heat, emotion, drama and angst, I was easily gripped throughout, and I would happily recommend it to others.

To Be Your Last is the third book in Rae Kennedy’s To Be Yours series. Each book can be read as a standalone, no need to read the previous books to understand the plot of any of the books. I enjoyed this book quite a lot. The story follows the main character Gracie as she runs away from home and joins an up and coming band on their summer tour. She starts a fake relationship with one of the band members. What starts off as a setup, immediately turns to something more as both of them want more, but almost won’t allow each other to have more of each other, ultimately ending in heartbreak.

I didn’t expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. It started off slow, but picked up towards the middle all the way to the end. The writing was cheesy at times, but got better. I loved the chemistry between the two main characters. It was palpable. The sex scenes were steamy and the romance was just as intense. I wished there was more. This book was rather short. I thought the end came abruptly. I would’ve liked an epilogue just so we could get a full story between these two.

All in all, this book was enjoyable. I’m curious to read Rae Kennedy’s other stories and may even think about reading this whole series. I give this book 3.5/5 stars.

Oh man. I adored this book and love this series! I can't get enough and stay up through the night to finish each book I've read so far! I need the fourth book as soon as possible! Once again, Rae Kennedy did not disappoint. Colin and Gracie are such great characters and you find yourself rooting for them along the way! Colin is such a great guy - probably one of my favorite male characters in an book ever!

Thanks to NetGalley and the author for a an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was given an ARC of this to give an honest opinion. I loved it, it had everything I love in a romance novel, brooding, enemies to lovers, fake dating and an enclosed setting. What more could I ask for. It made me laugh out loud multiple times. I also enjoy much more how she did the time jump this time around!

5 Stars for this brooding rockstar and his muse!

I don't quite know what I was expecting from this book, but WOW ... it was funny, heartbreaking and steamy ... I LOVED it! I could just feel the electricity between Gracie and Colin. I normally like books with a dual POV and this one is just from Gracie's POV, leaving Colin's thoughts a mystery and it totally worked! Colin started out being a real jerk, but he ended up being a total sweetheart with a protective nature. Gracie was a little immature, but I guess that comes along with being a 19-year old virgin. All the characters were well thought out and loveable ... I sure hope they all get a book!

Gracie, the perfect student, is failing at college and decides to run away from it all. When the band at her sister's wedding offer for her to tag along with them for the summer while they're on tour, Gracie jumps at the chance. Gracie has an instant attraction to the band's brooding singer, Colin. Colin, being overprotective, offers to be Gracie's boyfriend, so guys will stop hitting on her ... the only problem is that somewhere along the line it stopped being fake.

This book just ended way to soon for me, I really wanted more of Colin and Gracie and more of the band because there are definitely stories there ... as rockstar books are my favorite! This is the first book I have read by this author ... and it won't be my last!

I haven't read the first two books in this series, which is a shame if this one is anything to go by. To be your last is a second chance romance, sort of. I say sort of because, although this is the story of two people who have been together, split up and then get the chance to try again, most of the action in this book takes place in the before of their initial relationship. I think that it was perhaps this that made me enjoy it so much.
I particularly liked both the hero and heroine. The story is told from the heroine, Grace's point of view. She is taking risks and trying things that she has never done before, it's this which leads to her being on the road touring with a rock band and meeting and falling for Colin, the lead singer. Colin is a fantastic character. He's not perfect, but when it comes to a moody lead male who actually has a heart of gold, he does come pretty close. It's not hard to see why Grace falls for him so quickly and completely.
I really enjoyed this book and I have to admit that I was sneaking glances at the odd chapter when I should have been doing something else. I loved this book and I'd really like to read more in this series or by this author.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Characters: I really liked every character in this book. I cannot think of one poorly written character. They all have such distinct and interesting personalities which were great. I adored Gracie. She was a perfect balance between sassy and willing to stand up for herself, but also she had her insecurities and her imperfections which just made her such a believable and relatable character.
My favourite character however…goes to Logan. He is so sweet and perfect and adorable and funny and such a daredevil and I love how great he was to read. He made you smile from ear to ear. He was like condensed sunshine!
Now Colin…he just took my breath away. It may be a cliche but what the hell – what girl doesn’t love a tattooed rock-god with an amazing voice? Even if you say you don’t then your lying. He was sexy, broody, protective, mysterious and just glorious to read. He had me melting with just a look! He’s up there with my all-time fave book boys. Shane (From Fall From Grace) has some competition…or well since they are exactly the same tattooed Rockgod type does it really count haha.
Characters = 9/10

Humour: This was by far the standout quality of this book for me. I found myself laughing endlessly! It was witty and sarcastic which is exactly my sense of humour and also I think it fit the characters so well. I cannot convey how integral this was to my love for this book. I don’t tend to like drawing comparisons between books but the humour was another element that was really similar to Fall From Grace by Christine Zolendz which is my all-time favourite book series…so you can get a sense of how much I loved this.
Humour = 10/10

Atmosphere: I loved the atmosphere of the book. I worried at first it might get a little repetitive between bus life, and then the shows each night but it didn’t. It always felt fresh and new each time. And I think the close quarters of the bus really helped the story flow and the characters have a good banter etc.
Atmosphere = 8/10

Writing Style: I loved the writing. It was a really interesting mix between the short sarcastic conversations between everyone, and then some really elaborate and stunning verses of songs, poetry and description. It’s hard to make a flow between the two and it really worked here.
Writing Style = 8/10

Plot: The plot gripped me from the beginning. If you read a lot of my reviews then you’ll probably have gathered by now that I’m an impatient reader. I don’t like long-winded openings where not much happens – this book was completely opposite to that. It jumped straight into the action of the plot. A risk that can come with this is that you feel overwhelmed by an info-dump or that you don’t get the characters motives because you don’t know them yet but again this book really avoided both of those. It was great. The arc of the plot was pretty well-paced throughout the book. There was constantly something happening and there were no filler chapters (another pet hate of mine.) My one gripe with this plot is there was a section in Chapter 15 which made me feel a little awkward, and not the second-hand embarrassment awkward that you get for a character – no this made me feel physically awkward and I had to stop reading for a moment because I was uncomfortable. I’m all for sex in books – it’s not something that bothers me and if it adds to a story then I’m 100% all for it. But this scene…it just felt intrusive. However, the other sex scenes in the book were amazing and I thought they were brilliantly and very tastefully written!
Plot = 8/10

Intrigue: I’ve got to confess, intrigue wasn’t really an issue for me with this book. Normally I am very aware of it in the sense of either wanting the story to progress more to I can get the answers I want or progress more to get to a more intriguing part. However, in this, I didn’t even consider it. I felt swept up in the magic and majesty of Wicked Road just like Gracie was. Which, I think it a good thing if I’m so enamoured with a read that I stop waiting for things to happen and just enjoy it then it’s got be great!
Intrigue = 10/10

Logic: It seemed like a very logical book. I never questioned the motives of a character so, that has be good. I can’t really evaluate the accuracy of the road trip timings etc because I have no sense of the USA whatsoever but I presume it makes sense. Part of the plot is that she just wants to be someone else for a summer, which is probably the most relatable and logical part of the book to me. Who wouldn’t want to run away with a rock band for the summer and reinvent themselves, do all the crazy things they couldn’t do in their usual lives.
Logic = 9/10

Relationships: Right at the start of the book there is a definite love triangle, which I’m all for! It’s one of my favourite tropes of all time so it just roped me in so much more. Obviously, I don’t want to spoil anything so I’m not going to use names but once the couple took hold I was very very happy. Let’s just say she picked the guy I would have picked ahaha, and my heart definitely had a few melty moments when they had cute scenes. So it’s a great mix of sexy stuff and cute stuff. I would ship them more if I didn’t want him for myself.
Relationships = 8/10

Enjoyment: If you couldn’t tell already, I thoroughly enjoyed this. It is definitely comparable in many ways to Fall from Grace which grabbed me instantly. And this really could have been up there too if it wasn’t for that chapter 15 scene. It really made me feel awkward and I can’t give it full marks when it caused me such discomfort sadly, but it’s definitely in my top 5 of the year.
Enjoyment = 9/10

Overall Score = 79/90 or 8.7/10
