I was invited to read the 2nd on DS Eve Hunter police dramas having read and loved the 1st book in the series Hold Your Tongue. Out for Blood was just as good as the first with a really good storyline, characters and a thoroughly enjoyable plot. Would highly recommend.

In the second of the DI Eve Hunter novels, a golfer suffers a heart attack witnessing the swinging form of a hanging girl. Eve sets off to find the links (forgive the pun) between her death and those of two other young men, the sons of some very influential businessmen. Almost Biblical in 'visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children', we find that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
A worthy successor to Deborah Masson's first DI Eve Hunter novel Hold Your Tongue. Eve's team becomes more cohesive and she suffers a little less misogyny from her older colleagues but she still has her temper issues.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book as I have the whole series. This kept y9ou guessing nicely as to who was guilty, and what of. Right to the very end you are held in wondering if you will get to find out...

Brilliant. As good, if not better than the last instalment. Great characters and a plot line that keeps the reader hooked.

What a great sequel, Deborah Mason has not disappointed with this follow up. We get to go deeper into the characters with a little more back story eked out from each. It’s fast paced and an utterly delicious read. Although part of a series it can easily be read as A stand alone. A corker of a read that does not disappoint. Cannot wait for the next instalment. Highly recommended so 5 stars from me.

Out For Blood is the second in the series featuring this particular set of characters and what's brilliant is you don't have to read the first book to know what's happening, very easy to read as a standalone. It's full of engaging characters and is a very fast paced and well written novel, which makes you want to read more from the author.

Despite these problems which she tries very hard to overcome a very good investigative officer and her team She leads her team through this investigation to a successful conclusion. A great read.

DI Eve Hunter is back at work dealing with two seemingly unconnected murders involving the social and wealthy hierarchy of the city and their murky secrets. Her investigations are being hindered by silence from the families and her own boss doubting whether she can handle the pressure. A fast paced well structured detective story.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC in return for an unbiased review.
Well they say that the second one is always the most difficult but in this case Ms Masson need not worry.
The second in the series featuring Eve Hunter and her team in Aberdeen and it is without doubt another winner.
From the word go this story line grabbed me and kept me guessing.
As well as the ongoing case this book develops the main characters further and gives a further insight into them.
Cracking yarn with a few twists along the way.
Got a feeling DI Eve Hunter is here to stay

I loved the previous book I read by Deborah Masson, and I loved this one. This is a well-written and compelling police procedural, with a gripping storyline. I like Eve Hunter, and the other main characters, who all seem very realistic. I couldn't put this book down, and I would definitely recommend it.

Wow, another 5⭐️ Read from Deborah Masson. I loved book one in this series, but I think I loved book 2 even more. Engrossing, engaging from start to finish.

The opening chapter draws you in as a girl is found hanging from a tree in a golf course. But DI Eve Hunter is at another crime scene where a young man is found dead. A young man from a wealthy family. Initially the girl hanging looks like a suicide but when DC Mearns looks closer she is not convinced. When the autopsy is done it turns out she was right. Eve is now determined to work both cases but she has to persuade her boss Hastings that she is up to it.

Eve is still haunted from events that had happened the year before, as well as part of her past. She has anger management issues, forced by her boss to still see the Psychiatrist every month which she hates. I love seeing all the characters from book one developing into real people, each individual, learning small bits about each of them as you read on. Along with a gripping plot, which shows the power the rich and successful have, and the lengths they will go to to protect themselves.

Young women from Eastern Europe tricked into the country by false promises of jobs and better lives. Grooming them initially until they have them exactly where they want them. Treated and branded like animals.

Could the two cases be linked in some way? The more the team dig the more they find that could possibly link them.

Great plot, great characters, what more could you want? I can’t wait to see where book 3 takes us. This is a great police procedural, with three dimensional characters.

I would like to thank #netgalley and #RandomHousePublishers for an eARC in exchange for an honest, fair and unbiased review.

This is the second book in the series featuring DI Eve Hunter. I absolutely loved the first in the series and this is a worthy sequel.

The story opens with the death of a young man in a flat in an exclusive area of Aberdeen. At the same time, a young woman is found dead at a golf course in the city. DI Eve Hunter and her team are called in to investigate both deaths and start to make connections with some very powerful men and a previous police investigation.

DI Eve Hunter is an appealing and feisty protagonist - she has temper problems and doesn't always have the best judgement which is refreshing and real. Her team are also appealing and have identities in their own rights (often a problem with books like these - the supporting police team start to blend together - but that doesn't happen here). The story is well plotted and pacy - I was keen to race through to the end to find out what happened.

Overall, this is highly recommended to readers who enjoy a solid police procedural with a strong female lead. It's perhaps not quite as edge-of-your-seat as the first one in the series, but it is engaging and compelling.

A rollercoaster of a suspense novel with multiple twists. Highly recommended.
A young man, the son of an influential businessman, is discovered dead in his central Aberdeen apartment.
Hours later, a teenaged girl with no identification is found hanged in a suspected suicide. As DI Eve Hunter and her team investigate the two cases, they find themselves in a tug-of-war between privilege and poverty; between the elite and those on the fringes of society.
I loved the character of DI Eve Hunter.
It's narration is very smooth and adds an extra layer in the story's twists.
Thanks to NetGalley and Random House UK Transworld Publishers for giving me an advance copy.
