Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer is an electrifying and imaginative adventure that takes readers on a roller-coaster ride through a world where magic and technology collide. From the very first page, Colfer captivates readers with his masterful storytelling and ingenious plot, making it a must-read for both young and adult audiences.

The protagonist, Artemis Fowl, is a twelve-year-old genius with a cunning mind and an ambition to restore his family's wealth by any means necessary. His pursuit of fairy gold leads him to the secret underground world of fairies, where he devises a diabolical plan to kidnap one of them for a hefty ransom. But what he doesn't expect is the sheer brilliance of his hostage, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon Unit, who proves to be a formidable adversary.

Colfer effortlessly weaves together elements of fantasy, science fiction, and action, creating a world that is richly detailed and utterly believable. The fairy society is depicted with intricate politics, advanced technology, and a sense of tradition, while the human world is painted with all its complexities, both good and bad. This masterful blend of two seemingly disparate worlds is what sets Artemis Fowl apart from other books in the genre.

The character development is another highlight of the novel. Artemis is a captivating anti-hero whose intelligence and ruthlessness are countered by glimpses of vulnerability and growth. Holly Short, on the other hand, is a strong and relatable character, demonstrating the true essence of a hero with her bravery and determination.

The pacing is impeccable, keeping readers on their toes with thrilling action sequences, clever twists, and unexpected alliances. Colfer's writing style is witty, engaging, and sprinkled with humor that will have readers chuckling throughout the book.

In conclusion, Artemis Fowl is an enthralling tale that entices readers into a world where they can suspend disbelief and be swept away by the sheer magic of storytelling. Eoin Colfer's ability to create a captivating narrative with unforgettable characters and a seamless blend of fantasy and technology makes this book a timeless classic in the realm of children's literature. Whether you're a fan of fantasy or just looking for an exhilarating read, Artemis Fowl is an absolute gem that will leave you eagerly reaching for the next book in the series.

Perfect little book to read with my son. Such vibrant colours and easy to read story makes it a great story time together and hopefully become a favourite for him like it has so many others.
I love the story as well, it’ll be one to read as he grows with a lovely message.
Thank You NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me an early copy to review.

I’ve read this book once as an audiobook, I just didn’t pay too much attention to it, so I missed half the story. That’s why I wanted to give another chance to the book, so I devote my full attention to it.
The book protagonist is Artemis Fowl, a 12-year-old criminal genius who kidnaps a fairy to regain the reputation and money of her criminal family.
Overall, the book didn’t become a favorite for the second time, but I enjoyed it much more now. The characters are interesting, we don’t get the stereotypical characters. I liked Artemis's cunning. The world was also interesting with modern fairies. I enjoyed reading the book much more, but I still don’t feel that it is outstanding. Nevertheless, I continue the series, I'm interested in how it continues.

Here's the thing.
The first book I can remember reading as a kid (besides Grimm's fairy tales and Harry Potter, obviously) is Artemis Fowl.
I remembered almost nothing about the story and only how it made me feel when I was a kid and how it got me excited and into reading. How I couldn't wait for my mom to sit me down and read me a chapter until I got too impatient and wanted to read it myself.
Reliving that experience nearly two decades later (oh god I'm old) was such a wonderful and joy-filled ride.
Artemis and his band of misfits (which definitely inspired a lot of YA band of misfits now that I'm thinking about it) were just as fascinating and weird as they were the first time I read about them and rooting for them came naturally. And I think that this book series will always hold a special place in my heart, for nostalgia reasons alone.

I first read this many years ago and it was great to revisit Artemis' world. For me this has always been a deeply unrelated series, and it's been nice in the past year or so to see it finally getting some of the recognition it deserves. Despite everything, you can't help but root for Artemis and his mismatched group of outcasts.

I feel like I probably missed the boat with this one. Most people’s first experience of reading Artemis Fowl is when they were younger, which I never did. I decided to request this from #netgalley to give it a read as it had recently been added to Disney +. My experience wasn’t a positive one. I found it pretty dull and generally overhyped. Sorry to any long-standing fans of this series, it’s just clearly one I should have continued to miss out on.
