I had to DNF this book. I just couldn't get into it, the story was too wacky. Carly is married to one sister but into the other. Wynn and Jordan's family members are telling Carly she should be with Wynn and not Jordan...it's just weird.

I wasn't sure about this book in the first four chapters, however I take all of that thoughts back because the set up of this book is soo worth it. What an amazing writing tool Dena Blake used - the set up was so much better than I thought it ever could be.

The premise of this story is great, I love how Wynn took a day or two to realise what was happening and how each time she focused on what was most important to her something else fell by the wayside until she realised and rectified so many things that had gone wrong.

I loved her family, especially Wynn's mum. LOVE

The Equilogue made me super happy too. Not going to lie!

Thanks for this book to Netgalley and Bold Strokes Books. The romance genre is refreshing with the LGBTQA narrative which is as smooth it gets. The characters evolve over time and show us different shades of the two main characters Wynn and Carly. It's a delight to get away from heterosexual pairing but we forget how love is love. It's got nothing to do with gender. I especially liked how Dena Blake did not make it about homosexuality but the love between two people and its as romantic as I have read earlier. I enjoyed the magical realism and Wynn's struggles to do things right. I recommend this book.

I really enjoyed the story. The Groundhog Day feel over and over for Wynn until she figures out how to do everything right. The love connection between Wynn and Carly was undeniable and felt from the very beginning, you can’t help but hope they can figure it out. Wynns character development is lovely to watch her decide to change and try to make her life better, as well as the people around her.

The one part I didn’t like was how Carly was with Wynns sister. I wish it had been a friend or someone else. The family tie made it too weird to me, as I would never go after a siblings ex or current relationship.

Interesting book. Obviously the whole Groundhog Day has been done in film, but I’ve never read encountered the premise in a lesbian romance before. It works well. This is largely due to the quality of the writing, which carries the idea through very nicely. Cleverly, despite the repetition, each day is fresh and enjoyable. I would have like to have read a bit more about Jordan and her motives as unlike the other sister, Suzanna, she’s a bit of a thin character despite being a main driver in the scenarios. I also found myself shouting at the book, as it’s so obvious why the day keeps repeating and what needs to change to stop the loop. It’s a bit like being at a pantomime and having to shout ‘behind you’ all the time. Having said that the book would be a bit short if they figured it out as quickly as the reader does.

After a freaky thunderstorm Wynn finds herself reliving the day which she made the worst decisions in love and her career when she stepped aside and let her sister Jordan romance the woman of Wynn's dreams.

Wynn: Having grown up in the shadow of her sister Jordan, Wynn starts striving towards achieving greater success than her only to realize maybe that isn't what's most important.

Carly: Carly is kind and sweet, but regret having been swept up in a whirlwind romance with Jordan. Carly wants a family and stability, something Jordan is not interested in.

Pro:
Real MCs
Good Chemistry - The chemistry between Wynn and Carly isn't just about looks, it's much deeper than that. It's clear early on that Wynn and Carly were meant to be together.
Good Epilogue
Good Premise

Con:
Indecisive MC - For me it's too much back and forth, coupled with too much angst. I found myself sighing when Wynn kept making mistakes that I found easily avoidable.
A too few many loops - The premise of reliving the same day to atone for bad mistakes is good, but I would have preferred for there to be a few less loops.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for the ARC of this book.

3.5 stars. Kiss Me Every Day has a fun premise, and it delivers plenty of sweet moments. Wynn is a sweet, complex character who goes on quite a journey throughout the book, and it's lovely to watch her grow as a person. Even though we do get to read from Carly's perspective, I feel like we don't learn much about her, and I would have liked a bit more character development on her side of things. Also, I would have liked a bit more descriptions of the setting and/or sweet moments where the characters are just having fun together. That all being said, Blake wraps up the story in a lovely way, and it's a great summertime, feel-good read.

For me, the biggest drawback was the editing. There were some continuity issues, and there were about three or four times where Blake wrote "Carly" where she obviously meant "Wynn."

Overall, this book was a fun, unique addition to my romance shelf!

Overall this was such a fun read and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a light, fast paced romance! There were definitely parts where the logic of the story was a bit lacking, it takes Wynn ages to work out what is happening when she starts reliving days, despite some pretty obvious indicators, but later when she shares with some others they just believe her. It also started to get a bit repetitive, and I thought the twist of the last thing Wynn needed to fix was a bit obvious, and also didn't make a lot of sense that Wynn didn't realize. However I just got so sucked into the romance between Wynn and Carly, on the whole the pacing was great, I read this in one sitting I just couldn't put it down once I started. I loved seeing the groundhog day concept retold with a f/f romance. There were some wonderful scenes with adopting dogs that just made me so happy. Wynn's character arc was a tad cliche, but it all the right beats for a fun light hearted romance.

[Wynn Jamison shouldn't have stepped aside and let her sister Jordan pursue Carly Evans after they shared a phenomenal kiss a year ago. Now Carly is unhappily married to Jordan, and Wynn cannot seem to keep Carly out of her mind. When Wynn finds herself waking up on that game-changing day a year prior, she is desperate to make her and Carly work. But then the day keeps repeating itself. What does she have to do to get out of the wretched cycle?]

If only we could all relive the day we made the worst decisions of our lives.

This is a weird book. Good weird. "Kiss Me Every Day" is a story about two people who were meant to be together but weren't because of circumstances. From the beginning, we see that Wynn and her sister-in-law Carly both hold a special place in the other's heart and everybody around them thinks they should be together. But Carly is married to Jordan, and as a marriage counselor, she refuses to consider a divorce. When Wynn starts reliving the day from last year, I no longer needed convincing to root for them. They are wonderful for each other, and both have decent character growths as the story progressed.

The book covers many aspects of Wynn's life: romantic, work, neighborly, and family relationships. Her repeating day feels like an exceptionally hard video game stage that one cannot pass and has to start over again and again. While frustrating because we share Wynn's desperation, it was also as adrenaline-filled as watching someone play an intriguing game. Though there were a few times the timeline messed with my head and seemed off, given the confusing nature of the theme, that actually added to the suspense. It was an enjoyable read.

"Kiss Me Every Day" is a reminder that life is so much more than work. It is definitely a thrilling story that keeps you on edge because you cannot wait for Wynn and Carly to end up together for good. And shoutout to Jeanine Henning for putting a mysterious yet slightly fading illustration of Carly on the cover.

Thank you Netgalley and Dena blake for this advanced copy. I was really excited about this book, it sounded a lot of fun. But unfortunately I didn’t care for it at all and ended up not finishing it. I felt it started out a bit boring with the part about Wynn’s work. I was hoping I would get into it more, but the writing style and characters didn’t appeal to me. Hopefully other readers will enjoy it better, we all have different tastes after all.

A special thanks to Bold Strokes Books, Inc. and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for a review!

The “Groundhog Day” trope is a fun, yet somehow not overdone story that calls for a great, if not aggravating, story for viewers. Dena Blake’s newest story, “Kiss Me Every Day” is a wonderful addition to these stories that is well thought out and enjoyable, but puts a little too emphasis on the aggravating parts.

“Kiss Me Every Day” follows two main characters, Wynn and Carly. Wynn’s sister, Jordan, marries Carly, who Wynn is secretly in love with. Carly is unhappy in her marriage with Jordan but refuses to divorce her because of the fear it will have on the reflection it will have on her job as a marriage counselor. So one day, Wynn wakes up a year prior to the night she fell asleep, which just so happens to be one of the most important days of her life. She finally has a chance to save jobs at her work, save her neighbor’s marriage, get her dream girl and perhaps even save a life.

Overall, I really enjoyed “Kiss Me Every Day” and read it in about three days. The book takes a little bit of set up before it dives into the main story, but it’s not boring by any means. Going in, I didn’t even know it was a “Groundhog Day” situation, but was pleasantly surprised with it.

A great aspect of the book is Blake’s formatting in the story and the quick changes between Carly and Wynn’s point of views. The story is very hectic, but not confusing, and this confusion that both of the characters feel is portrayed well and adds to the reader’s experience.

Another great aspect of this book is the mystery of how Wynn’s day is supposed to play out. Of course she’s sent back in time for a reason and with each day she changes something different, but what exactly she’s supposed to change is a mystery up until the last couple of chapters in the book. This sense of mystery adds to the aggravation Wynn feels as she wakes up to the same day repeatedly and to the reader themselves.

This poses my one complaint about the book though, and it’s that the repetition, specifically the last couple of days before Wynn manages to set things straight, goes on a little too long and doesn’t change. Once Wynn decides she’s going to go after Carly and not let her slip away like last time, the days all blend together with no defining factors. Around the 70% mark I found myself drifting off, waiting for the problems to get resolved, but it took a little while longer and unfortunately the payoff wasn’t too grand. I would have liked a longer ending to enjoy with the main characters, but I got the general gist of what their lives ended up being.

That being said, the story is still really good and it ended up being an enjoyable read. I read 62% of the book in one day and found it extremely easy to get lost in and sucked into.

The Verdict
Although the general outline of the story is not a new one, “Kiss Me Every Day” is a refreshing modern and sapphic twist on an amazing trope that readers will have an easy time reading and getting lost in. From an interesting set of characters to the main parts of Wynn’s life that she’s attempting to set right, there’s a lot this book has to offer and keep readers invested in. The ending comes a little too quick after a stretch of repetition that becomes a little too much at times, but isn’t too bad to take away from the reading experience as a whole.

My Final Rating: ⅘ stars

I would like to thank the author, publisher and Net Galley for the advance reader copy of this book and the chance to read and review the book.

This was my first book by this author, though I can see that she has several books previously published. I enjoyed the writing style and character development from the author, and will look for other books written by her.

Overall, the story was enjoyable, though I did enjoy the first half more than the second. The beginning of the book read very quickly, but slowed down for the last half. But maybe that is due to the story line, if we are talking a 'ground hog's day' type of idea. I liked the the book was unpredictable - I wanted to keep reading to see what would happen next, where the author would take us. The idea of going over events and situations and getting to try out some 'what if' situations, to see what would happen, which was the better choice and path - maybe not healthy all the time, but I think we've all wondered a few 'what if's' with relationships, and this was a fun way to test some of that out.

This was a really enjoyable book and I would recommend it to anyone. Give it a try - I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

I don't usually read romcoms but this one was very cute and original. The storyline felt fresh; it's essentially a spin on Groundhog's Day, where the narrator repeats a day in her life until she gets things "right" in terms of career, love, family, community, and so on. The story is set in contemporary San Francisco and in the tech world. It was refreshing to read a lesbian love triangle that didn't involve a man. The prose wasn't always fresh or particularly beautiful, but the book reads quickly and is entertaining. As a flaw, I found the character's unevenly developed; in particular, Jordan felt a bit too easily a villain, and Carly sometimes felt too simple. But that can certainly be a matter of personal taste and preference. Overall, I do recommend this book, especially for people who like romcoms with a bit of angst and personal drama.

If this book is not the best, I bet is best of 2 from Dena!!
Sometimes I wish I could have do-over like Wynn. Her trying to get it right was really moving. Truth is I don't remember of much what happened last week, not talking a year. I bet the reliving and trying to make it right got tiring but she never gave up. It is sweet, moving story. I think I read this one in one sitting!
Bravo!

So cute and sweet. The read reminded me of what the heart remembers most by M. Ullrich and also the movie, groundhog day. This was a difference type of read because it did not follow the typical story outline which in my opinion is a good thing. Different can be good.

Wynn Jamison, well off and kinda sort of enjoying her successful career. Carly Evans, marriage counselor, questioning her own marriage. Wynn's sister Jordan, suave and knows how to charm the ladies. Jordan is married to Carly and Wynn has always cared for Carly. The story unfolds with a freak thunderstorm that rumbles through the night taking Wynn back in time to the day she made decisions that would change the course of her life and not in a good way. While reading, I thought, oh yeah, for second chances.

"Kiss me every day until we get it right"
For the majority of the book I thought this was going to be a 3 star read, but i'm soft and the end was cute so it can have an extra star, as a little treat.
Kiss me every day is a Groundhog Day style book, where Wynn has to relive the same day over and over again, the day she lost the love of her life to her older sister Jordan. She has to figure out how to fix everything that went wrong that day, and how to get Carly back.

I thought this was super fun and sweet, and loved the idea of reliving every day until it's fixed. However, i think the days went on one or two too long, as there's only so much variety you can write in the same day. I also wish there was more of an insight into Wynn and Jordan's relationship, as we only get a few glimpses into it on a few of the repititions. That being said, I loved the romance between Carly and Wynn and while it was technically insta love it didn't feel like it because Wynn had lived this day so many times, and we were right there with her.

Sweet Dreams
Wynn is nearly thirty, she has a decent job, a nice home but the one thing she is missing is a woman to love…well, she is in love only it’s with her sister in law…. Carly’s marriage is in trouble. All she wants is a loving family, complete with kids but it looks like that’s not going to happen. Her wife is distant and just doesn’t care anymore. After Wynn takes Carly out to dinner, she wakes up the next morning to find it’s a year in the past. Wynn has to live the day over and over till she makes things right…if only she knew how.

I started out not liking this book. I didn’t like who Wynn was and the things she was doing but as the book progressed she changed and I began to really enjoy the story. It’s a Groundhog Day theme but so very, very much better!!! I like Ms Blake’s writing style and this book proved to hold true to that. It was easy to read and after the initial first chapter it really held my attention and kept me up WAY too late because I didn’t want to stop till I finished. I liked the drama and the characters were lovely too. I liked watching Wynn turn from a backstabbing brat (Amazon hates swearing lol) who couldn’t stand up for herself to someone who learned to do the right thing as she grew confidence. This is a sweet and special book and I am pleased to recommend it.

This was a fun read. As a “Groundhog Day” movie fan I was really excited to read this. I like the premise of having one day to do over until your life changes for the better. And to get a WLW version of it, I’m all for it. I’m happy to say that it was the entertaining storyline that I was hoping for.

Dena Blake is one of my go to authors when I want something really angsty. I was actually surprised to see that this had way less angst than her books normally have. But the book still had plenty of conflict pushing the story forward so that it went at a nice fast pace. I read this whole book last night and the story flew by for the most part.

Since this is a story about reliving one day over and over, it does get a little repetitious. I think Dena did a good job of mixing things up with different outcomes but you do know that the main character has to do everything right before she can move on so some parts have to be done over and over. If you pay attention to the book you will have a guess as to why Wynn can’t move forward. I think it was the second to last repeated day that I started yelling at Wynn to figure it out too so the story could move on. I think I personally would have liked one less repeated day, so I didn’t get that frustration, but this still was a fun premise.

Since the romance mostly takes place in one day it feels like insta-love, but because Wynn has that day over and over it’s not insta-love for her. Even the sex feels like it came a little quick for Carly, because it is on her first date, but for Wynn it has been half the story. It’s interesting how that worked out and almost messed with me a bit. The chemistry is really good between the mains which I always appreciate.

If you are a “Groundhog Day” fan and like the “do-over” premise, than I would definitely recommend this one. I had to spend my birthday, last night, at home social distancing but this book entertained me and made my night better. I can’t really ask for much more than that during these times.

2 stars. Wynn Jamison does not have a love life, and she is okay with it until she spends her birthday dinner with Carly Evans, her sister, Jordan's wife. Carly and Wynn had shared one kiss a year ago, a kiss Wynn could not forget but thought did not mean as much to Carl.y She is proven wrong at her birthday dinner, and then shares a kiss with Carly, just like the one a year ago. She is transported back to the day Carly meets Jordan and Carly and Wynn share the magical kiss. She knows she has to re-do the day and find a way to be Carly's wife and not Jordan.

I had a couple problems with this book. The day is replayed way too many times. I really got sick of reading about the same day over and over again. I really wish it just replayed once or twice and then you saw Wynn and Carly's relationship. I wanted more of their relationship as a whole and not just the first day over and over again. I really did not enjoy reading it and only really felt the character development on one side, Wynn since she kept her memory every time she relived the day. I wish there was just more about them in general and not just this day. It was an interesting concept, but I wish it was better written. The synopsis made it seem like it was more about her dating her sister's wife, but there was none of that in the book, and it was more about winning her back. I would not recommend this book.

Wynn Jamison is ambitious and successful. We meet her when she's in the middle of retrenching a bunch of employees but as she sees it, that just goes with the territory of being a successful business woman, ruthless, just like her older sister Jordan. Then we meet Carly Evans. Wynn and Carly are perfect for each other, except for the fact that Carly is married to Jordan. As the story unfolds we realise it's groundhog day for Wynn and she has the opportunity to change all that is wrong with her life.
I was a bit hesitant about reading this story particularly after knowing that Wynn is falling for her sister's wife but as you keep reading through the story you realise that their relationship is perfectly justified and was just meant to be. The storyline, whilst the concept of going through each day over and over again sounds like it could be repetitive and boring was made to sound interesting. There was some really nice chemistry between the characters and it was well written. I really enjoyed this book.
