I’m afraid to say this book as not for me, I could not get into it. I wish the author all the best for the future. I’ll rate is 3 stars as possibly to some people this book will be right up there street. Just unfortunately not for me.

Only had a small extract of this book to read so can't really give a full review unfortunately however the part i go to read was enjoyable enough not sure it was enough to make me want to buy. Maybe one day

A nice introduction to the story which left me wanting more. It is quite young so may appeal to a middle grade age group. At times, the writing is quite lecturing like a lesson which could be a positive or negative thing depending on the readers feeling on this.
A good read.

Wow this was only a few chapters of story and I was hooked, I liked the way this story was told many many years later and we were to find out the full of Mary’s story after Witch Child ended. I certainly want to get this story and read it in full now as it was so very interesting. It was just enough of a teaser to hook you perfectly. I also really liked Agnes she had a story of her own to share too.

I have to admit, right off the bat, that this book's prequel, Witch Child, has been sitting on my kindle since 2011 (bit behind the times, I know), but when I saw this extract up on NetGalley, I jumped at it. And this does set things up nicely with the rest of the book and makes me super intrigued to read this and Witch Child, which I am now pushing up to my TBR.

Good as far as it goes, but it was not for me, although I can see it is a good novel. Perhaps it is because it is for the YA market, yet some of the YA books have absorbed me, and this one did not.
