A little baby goes missing. Nobody saw anything, nobody knows anything. Then a baby girl's body is found. Is it the missing girl? The book was a thrilling read! I really can't wait for the next offering by this talented author.

Having not read the other books in this series, I still understood detective Beth's style and enjoyed the story. Isaac did a fabulous job bringing the reader up to speed and it wasn't really necessary to read the first 2 books in the series. Thank you to Net Galley for providing the digital copy of this book in exchange for honest feedback.

A crime thriller that's a police procedural with a touch of domestic suspense, HUSH LITTLE BABY is the third in the DC Beth Chamberlain series. I was glad to find this book so much better than the previous one although it still felt a little drawn out in parts, weighing it down in the middle. Still, it was a relatively enjoyable read.

Teenager Jordan skips registration and skives off school to hunker down at a building site for a cheeky cigarette. She did not expect to make the discover that she did. The bare arm of a child protruding from the the rubble surrounding a block of concrete. She screams, alerting the construction crew on site, and scarpering as the builders approach.

DC Beth Chamberlain is enjoying a day off with her sister Eden and her daughter Lily when her mobile rings. It can only mean one thing. Work. Her sergeant and lover, DS Nick Geary, informs her of the discovery of a infant's remains encased in a block of concrete. Almost at once, her superiors recall a case from fifteen years previous. Alicia Owens disappeared along with her pram after her mother Marie, not wanting to disturb the sleeping three month old, had left it unattended to pick up a few groceries. When she returned, Alicia had gone alone with her pram. A search prevailed the pram but the attachable car seat and Alicia's change bag were nowhere to be found.

Could this be baby Alicia?

The investigation into identifying the infant's remains lead to Beth and Nick informing the Owens family to prepare them for the possibility of it being Alicia. What ensues is the re-examination of the old case and the opening up of old wounds. Acting as Family Liaison Officer to both parents despite the couple divorcing twelve years before, Beth takes Marie and her former husband Daniel's DNA to assist in identifying the remains. But what none of them expect is what the tests throw up...

But the case at hand is not the only thing on Beth's mind. At the conclusion of the previous book, they had learned that the serial killer they had imprisoned had somehow escaped custody and no one knew where he was. If he was smart, Dale Yates would be a long way from here. But then he had a score to settle and his own sense of warped justice to deliver. Since receiving this news, her superior DCI Freeman had ensured that Beth was never alone with Nick always remaining close by. But since his promotion to acting DI for the investigation into identifying the child's remains, his work hours have been somewhat extended leaving Beth to return home at night alone. Then little things started happening. Her side gate left unlocked. The sense of someone having been in her house. The care with the cloned plates tailgating her. Was this all just a coincidence? Or has Yates come for her?

As the first case is solved and wrapped up, Beth finds herself thrust to the forefront of another investigation...this time with her as a victim. The twist, which sees an unexpected turn of events concerning her sister, is a shock and leaves Beth reeling.

HUSH LITTLE BABY is a gripping thriller which focuses on both the police investigation as well as those of the victims and an anonymous person seemingly stalking the investigation. It's page-turning and entertaining enough to keep you engaged but the pace did dip a little in the middle before it raced to the end.

An enjoyable read, HUSH LITTLE BABY can be read as a standalone though it probably helps to read the preceding books to get a full understanding of the ongoing backstory.

I would like to thank #JaneIsaac, #Netgalley and #AriaFiction for an ARC of #HushLittleBaby in exchange for an honest review.

A wife’s life in a beautiful and idyllic setting, her urge to maintain appearances amidst an abusive relationship which soon implodes all around her.

A wife and mother flees with her children and with no idea of where to find safety.

The horror of the demise of a marriage, the escalating abuse of a husband and father who ultimately becomes a danger to his wife and children in a suspenseful and insightful read you'll never forget.

Suzanne Readfearn brings us deep into human nature, the choices we make, the doubts we have and shows us that nothing is ever black or white, right or wrong.

This novel follows DC Beth Chamberlain as she investigates the murder of a young baby whose body has been found on a building site. It is believed the baby could be Alicia Owens who has been missing for fifteen years so Beth has to go back through the case and to re-investigate everything. This is a mysterious novel which has you wondering where the baby had been kept for all the intervening years and who could have killed her, and why. Alicia’s mother, Marie, is quite a closed book but has re-married and had another child whereas her ex-husband hasn’t moved on at all and still isn’t coping too well. The wider family all seem like they might have secrets to hide and as the novel goes on things start to unravel. I enjoyed this book, it was the third in a series but the first one I’ve read and it works perfectly well as a standalone. I found the central mystery intriguing and was shocked when the reveal of who and how and why comes. I’d recommend this one if you like British crime fiction!

Well written storyline with believable characters and lots of suspense. Just the description alone caught my attention and held it right through to the end.

The blurb on the back got me straight away. This book was a tense book full of twists and turns that kept my attention . It is part of a series but you could easily read it as a stand alone. Great characters that were easy to connect to. The case had me so intruiged and I couldnt put it down. I thought I knew what was going on but I had no idea.

This has to be Beth’s most difficult role as family liaison officer in the police force. The subject matter is very emotive as the body of a baby is found encased in concrete. The police have to find out if the body belongs to a baby that went missing fifteen years before.

As the police dig deeper they uncover lots of twists and turns along the way. It was interesting to see how Beth’s forbidden relationship with Nick was getting along.

Beth is a flawed Character with lots of problems and that just makes her more unlikely to rely on anybody. This crime becomes a little too close to home

Wow! When I logged this book into Goodreads I found out it was Book 3 of a series. So, I bought the 1st 2 books as they had high marks and great reviews. I was not disappointed!

Hush Little Baby starts with a kidnapping and disappearance of a baby. The story then accelerates 15 years later when her remains are discovered. The story winds and weaves through the families, hidden secrets, and tragic information.

I love this series, I hope it continues. The characters are engaging and keeps you on your toes trying to solve the murder. I did not solve any of these murders correctly - the twists are that good!!

This is book three in the DC Beth Chamberlain series.

Fifteen years ago a three month old baby called Alicia disappeared outside a shop. When a body of a baby is found on a building site is it Alicia? DC Beth Chamberlain is determined to find Alicias abductor?

I can’t fault this author. She has this knack of grabbing my attention and not letting go until the last page. I highly recommend this series.

This is the third book in the series featuring DC Beth Chamberlain. I hadn’t read the first two books in the series and did find it a bit of a disadvantage. Beth is very dedicated to her job as a Family Liaison Officer and has been recently been temporarily promoted to Acting Detective Sergeant and really wants to make a good impression. Over fifteen years ago a three month old baby girl, Olivia, was snatched from her pram outside a supermarket. Nobody had seen anything and the police had no leads. The press at the time labelled Marie, her mother, as neglectful and all the pressure lead to her and her husband parting. Now in the present, a teenager discovers the body of a baby on a construction site which proves to be Olivia and so a murder investigation is set up. Beth is called in as Family Liaison Officer to the family and as she investigates she comes across long buried secrets. But just as Beth thinks she has solved the case another sub plot surfaces which puts Beth and her family in danger. I think not having read the first two books certainly put me at a disadvantage as this sub plot related to events that take place in them. Saying that I still enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the next one in the series.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Thanks to aria and the author for my kindle version of this gripping, heart breaking story, in return for my own honest review.

This book had me mesmerised from the minute I picked it up, it is the first book I have read by this author in this series. Hush little baby is book 3 of 3 in the DC Beth Chamberlain series. I toughly enjoyed this book, although it is heart breaking to find out what has happened to poor Alicia.

The plot is very well written, I didn't guess any of it, and was surprised by the outcome, as a mother of 2 children I simply don't know how Alicia mother coped with the death of 2 babies, Alicia's twin brother died in birth and then Alicia was kidnapped and murdered.

i would like to give this book 5 stars but i cant simply because i think that the story to do with Alicia was over too quick, the last few chapters of the book had nothing to do with the cold case of Alicia but that of a personal matter for DC Chamberlain.

Gritty, hard-hitting and compulsively readable, best-selling author Jane Isaac does not shy away from tackling difficult issues in her page-turning crime thrillers and in Hush Little Baby she has once penned a shocking, spine-chilling and addictive read readers will struggle to put down.

When Marie had nipped into the supermarket for a couple of minutes and left her three month old baby Alicia in her pram outside, she never imagined that she would never see her daughter ever again. Nobody saw her daughter being taken. Nobody saw anything or anyone suspicious and with no clues or any leads to go on Alicia Owen had been lost forever. As the tabloid vultures zoomed in on this story, Marie had been depicted in the papers as a neglectful parent and the pressure had torn her and her husband apart. Nobody knows what really happened to Alicia, but could a teenager discovering a tiny hand on a construction site shed some light on a mystery that had destroyed a family and haunted the police for a decade and a half?

As the police begin their investigation, they find a baby buried and preserved in concrete. DC Beth Chamberlain find herself having to rattle the skeletons that have lain hidden in the Owens’ closet for all these years and by doing so opening a Pandora’s Box and unleashing a maelstrom of resentment, anger, frustration and betrayal.
As Beth continues digging, she begins to get closer and closer to uncovering the truth about what really happened to Alicia fifteen years ago.

As long-buried secrets come rushing to the surface, Beth is shocked to her very core when it seems that a dangerous killer is watching her every move waiting to strike again. A killer who is far closer than she had ever imagined…

Jane Isaac’s writing goes from strength to strength. Hush Little Baby is a thriller not for the faint of heart, but one that is densely plotted, brilliantly written, shocking, terrifying and so addictive that I was still turning the pages of this book in the middle of the night.

A multi-layered, chilling and creepy page-turner from a writer at the very top of her storytelling powers, Hush Little Baby is the latest captivating thriller from Jane Isaac.

This is the newest addition to the series and I found it just as enjoyable as the rest. Many twists and turns kept me turning the pages.

Beth Chamberlain is fast becoming one of my favorite crime Heroes.. In the third installment, Beth is still the family liaison to a family rocked by a past kidnapping. It’s fascinating to watch her involvement with the friends, acquaintances and family in these usually tragic circumstances. Beth is an astute British copper with the proverbial bloodhound nose. I’m loving getting to know her more and watch her watching them while also in a developing relationship with another officer that needs to be kept under wraps.. Now that he is her superior. I always imagined family liaison officers were vaguely social worker types - this series has proven me wrong - while naturally empathetic Beth is a no nonsense bad ass detective. This one has a complicated plot with a thunderous ending. Great, great great!
