This book was a wonderful read, and certainly relatable to many in the world right now.
The characters were fun and likeable, and you couldn't help but find yourself rooting for them both throughout.
The storyline itself was truly unique, full of humour, love, and the trials people so often face when stuck in each others company for a prolonged period of time.
A beautifully written story that will certainly stay with you long after you have finished reading it.

Unfortunately, I was slow in downloading this story and it was archived before I had the chance. I'm sure it is a wonderful read.

I was a little unsure about a book written so quickly during lockdown but I have to say I found it very enjoyable. Imagine being locked in with a husband you no longer like. Can their relationship survive?

A brilliant book that made me smile, laugh and root for the characters.
I think it's the perfect read for the current times and I loved the plot and the characters.
It's the first book I read by this author and won't surely be the last.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

Really good read. Would recommend to friends and family. I could sympathise with characters (important for any fiction novel!) and looked forward to picking it up and reading the next few chapters! Interesting plot line and a good ending. Will look out for more novels by the author. Thank you.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

Julie and Michael Marshall have been married for thirty-four years. Promising to be together in sickness and in health, to share the good times and the bad. But lately, it’s different, sleeping in separate rooms, hardly speaking to each other,.
As their near their thirty-fifth wedding anniversary, Julie decides that she doesn't want to pretend anymore, that things will improve. She gets the Divorce papers prepared and she’s almost about to have the discussion with Michael when everything changes.

Lockdown begins forcing Julie and Michael to face the greatest terror they can imagine - having to stay with one another without interruption or going to work etc.

In their house, both wonder how they will ever survive the coming weeks.

But, when there’s no distractions will Julie and Michael be able to reach the point of where they first began???

I would like to thank the author, the publisher and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read an arc of this book. It was utterly brilliant and so easy to relate to the subject of lockdown. It made me laugh out loud and also moved me to tears, will definitely recommend this book to everyone I know.

I received an ARC of this book thanks to NetGalley and publisher Little, Brown Book Group UK in exchange for an honest review.

I must admit, I was curious when I saw a quarantine-themed romance book. It's not my usual genre but quite a few have been popping up and I'm always intrigued by books that get written and published so quickly. Just the Two of Us sounded like more than a quick cash grab and this proved to be the case. It tells the story of Julie, a woman about to divorce her husband Michael when lockdown means they are stuck inside together. Can they rediscover why they fell in love or are they doomed to drift apart?

As far as chick lit goes, this was very enjoyable. Julie and Michael are both interesting characters and I liked reading about their relationship. Despite the subject matter, this is a very fluffy book and there aren't a lot of taxing things that happen to the main characters. Actually in one case, Julie thinks she might be ill and then this is never brought up again. That was a little odd.

My main criticism of this book is I found the timeline very hard to follow. It jumps back to previous points in their relationship, but also sometimes there are flashbacks within flashbacks and flashbacks not in these sections. It was difficult to tell when certain scenes were set due to this and it made me stop engaging with the story.

Overall though, this is a nice easy read with decent characters and a lovely romance plot. I'm confident people who typically read this genre will love it far more than I did, and it was enjoyable to read a book set during quarantine which didn't focus on the stressful elements as I personally can't deal with those now. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you like romance.

Overall Rating: 3/5 stars

Just The Two of Us is a book about Julie and Michael. They have been married 35 years and have found themselves drifting apart and living separate lives since their children grew up and moved out.
Then the COVID19 lockdown starts. After they realise that it will be just the two of them together for the foreseeable future they start to look back on their relationship to figure out where it went wrong and see if it can be fixed.

I was really impressed at the turnaround for this book. I am 11 weeks in to the lockdown as I write this review ahead of the books release on the 9th July.
I am sure that there are many couples that have found themselves in this sort of situation during this pandemic as I know from personal experience that during this lockdown people have been forced to spend time together and realise what is, and what isn’t important which is where Julie and Michael find themselves.

This book is highly relatable, heartwarming and emotionally charged and is perfectly timed for the situation the world currently finds ourselves in.

Thank you to the Author, Publisher and NetGalley for gifting me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I’m super impressed by the publishing turn around time of this book. It’s about a couple during the coronavirus lockdown. What impressed me was the quality of the writing and storyline, it never once felt like the author had shoved coronavirus into the story just to market on something topical. The story is a great examination of relationships that have communication troubles and I was completely immersed in the story from the start!
