A couple of years ago someone mentioned Jeffrey Archer was a fantastic storyteller and if I had reservations over the author just read the book and do not think about who wrote it until after. Well I did this and over the last 2 years I have read every book he has written.
To say I was excited to see that I had been gifted this book would be an understatement, and what a book it is. Once again Jeffrey has written a fantastic story continuing the life of William Warwick, who started life himself in the Clifton Chronicles. The storyline although set in the past is true and reminiscent of today, and the way this book follows on from the last helps you to engage with the characters and understand what makes them tick. As do all Jeffrey's books this one moves at a pace that simply means you cannot put the book down. A good book reads itself is an old saying and this is a good book, I devoured it in 2 days, and groaned aloud when I realised it had ended. I am waiting rather impatiently for the next as I can't wait to find out what happens next for William and Beth.
Jeffrey Archer is a true storyteller and you will never go wrong with any of his books. If you read the first in this series Nothing Ventured you must read this one.

Hidden in Plain Sight is the second instalment of William Warwick’s rise through the ranks of the Metropolitan police. Now a Detective Sgt he is assigned to investigate a drug lord, this involves much undercover work and piecing together lots of information to bring him to account. Meanwhile his nemesis from the previous book rears his ugly tricky head leading to a court case in which his father is prosecutor and his sister second chair, with great cross examination arguments this is when the book really comes into it’s own.
Another good story with the return of previous characters and the introduction of new ones. You are lefter wondering though if William is going to have to reach the rank of Commissioner before we see justice finally being served.
I look forward to the next instalment, by then William should have reached the rank of Detective Inspector.......but will he??
My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly.
