This wasn’t your typical story and I enjoyed the read of it. I like how at the beginning you don’t know the story of the characters and by the end your aren’t sure whom you side with.
Secrets will always be opened.

Following news of dashing local celebrity, Tristan Hart, becoming victim of a serious assault at a plush wedding at their small town, the locals are abuzz with gossip and cue police inspectors Gooch, Golding, Muir and Weld who are determined to get to the bottom of this high profile case. If I’m honest, it took me a while to get into this plot-driven novel as there were a bewildering number of characters to remember at the start. However, I’m so glad I persevered as eventually I was riveted by the plot and compelled to keep on reading to find out more. In summary, a compelling modern-day whodunnit which I feel would transfer really well to TV drama.

Thank you to netgalley here's my review.
Erin Kilnsey get you sucked in by the descriptive writing style. It's starts out with an innocent wedding and then a tragic accident occurs. World's are torn apart. This book had its ups and downs some bits were fasted paced and some slow. Overall a good read.

Innocent, to my mind started as a setting to a plot for Midsummer Murders and I felt unsure about where it would take me.
However, slowly but surely Erin Kingsley lured me in and I was caught, I didn't want to put the book down. All of the characters were interesting and fully believable. The storyline was full of twists, turns and surprises with an ending that no-one could have wanted, although it had been hinted at for a while, and which was heart breaking and tissues were required. A great book overall .

I enjoy this genre of books but this just didn’t grab me - I felt no connection to the characters and didn’t care who had attacked Tristan. So after struggling to read it - not helped by the shocking layout of the text on my Kindle - I gave up. Disappointing as the premise sounded good.

I felt that this was more a Midsomer Murders kind of book, the victim and related characters were quite stereotyped, each and every one. Sometimes people are just people with nothing special about them, they may have no skeletons in the cupboard or predated behaviour that might make them a suspect. We had the good looking celeb who is murdured, the dodgy, angry man who operates beyond the law, the beautiful willowy wife, the showy friend, the list goes on. Sorry, this just wasn't for me, it didn't seem to have any realistic depth.

When a well known celebrity is hit over the head with a champagne bottle at a wedding reception all the villagers come under suspicion. Who did it but more importantly why. Was the celebrity the person they thought he was. A very well written page turner. It kept me guessing to the end but only after reading the story did I realise all the signs pointed to the killer.

A well told story with a right few twists along the way.
This is my favourite category of book for reading and although I did enjoy it, I kind of felt that there was something about it that may just make it more enjoyable for a female rather than a male reader (sorry if that is coming across as sexist but don't mean it to). Nonetheless I didn't see the outcome coming and a solid four stars.

A summer wedding is disrupted when one of the guests, TV celebrity Tristan Hart, is found unconscious from a blow to the head with a champagne bottle. Despite there being a skeleton in Tristan's closet and a number of people who may have motive to harm him, I felt the perpetrator was fairly well signposted. This didn't spoil my enjoyment of the book. The author conveys the claustrophobia and gossip present in a community hit by scandal, the doubt that enters people's minds when trying to make sense of violence, and the bonds and friction inherent in a family were portrayed realistically.

An excellent read with well developed characters, an interesting plot line and plenty of twists to keep the reader engaged. Highly recommended!

A brilliant read that keeps you guessing to the end. The author weaves so many threads into the story that cast suspicion on many of the well drawn characters.

Whilst the "whodunnit" element was easy to predict, the book was an intriguing easy read with enough twists to keep you guessing other plot points.
3.5 stars

Really enjoyed this ‘who done it‘. It has a very easy writing style and I read it in a few days. The main character Izzy was described so well that it was very believable to see her point of view and empathise with what was happening to her. Didn’t guess the conclusion either, Overall, really good novel.

a very enjoyable read. The plot was good and the characters believable. I was kept guessing till near the end and I liked that. Very well written.

I did finish this by skim reading to the end because it did not grab my interest at all. The book is really all about Tristan, who is the most interesting character in the book, but he makes no appearance after the very beginning so his story is told second hand from various points of view. There is much gossip and hearsay and his wife is far too willing to believe the worst of him. When the truth comes out it is neither a surprise nor very clever. Totally forgettable.

I enjoyed this book and could never make up my mind who had done it although there was a bit of suspicion.
I found it an easy read with plenty to think about

I found this an interesting read - I read it in two sittings and did not expect the outcome.
The story starts at a wedding where Tris Hart - a local celebrity - is attacked. As the story enfolds you become aware of his back story and the power secrets have to derail how you see yourself and your relationships. All the action takes place in a small village and as the investigation enfolds relationships and families are torn apart.
A gentle thriller. Well worth a read. I will be investigating the author’s other book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Headline for the arc of Innocent by Erin Kinsley.
It follows with an perfect wedding day in the sunshine and beautiful people. There is an accident which happens not gonna spoil anything but happens in a tiny community and does the damage that big events do to even the littlest of places..... emerging secrets and trust is lost.....
I Really enjoyed this book it is a great read and was gripping and hooking and read within a day, it had me stuck into from start to finish I loved this so much, thanks Erin Kinsley for an amazing well written book.
4 Star read⭐⭐⭐⭐
recommend highly

This book had me totally gripped from the start, building the story up to the attack on a local celebrity and the lives of the people around him. It kept me up late into the night as I read more and more trying to work out 'whodunnit'!
However, I wasn't prepared for the real culprit and felt that the ending came all of a sudden and that was it, over! It felt like the author had run out of inspiration as to how to finish the story and taken the easy ending with not much content or thought.
I did enjoy this book and will try the Author's previous book but just felt a bit cheated when I finished it.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy.

I enjoyed reading this book, kept me engaged from the beginning to end.
Good characters in the book who were described well and played their parts.
