It was so nice to return to the world of the Tea Dragon Society, each new book brings a new lesson and makes me so happy and comforted. I love the wide range of diverse characters and the art style is so pretty. I can't wait to see more of this world.

This was a cute conclusion to the Tea Dragon series. I'm sad to see these characters go and I wish we could get more of them in the future. The story was great, and the artwork was fantastic! This is the third and final book of this series. It is the slowest of the books.

The art is beautiful as always. The usual standard from the rest of the series. There will never not enough art of tiny dragons covered in flowers.

This book doesn't really much of a plot, nor does add more to the lore of Tea Dragons within the graphic novel of the book. We did get text about the origin of Tea Dragons once the novel is over. I'm not really reading these books for plot, so I'm not disappointed.

We're introduced to one new character, the rest are returning from other books in the series. This is the characters setting up for the epilogue, of finding a purpose. This is meant for children and I suppose it more like fable, in it explores grief and how you're have to forge new paths for most of your life.

Overall, I gave this book 3.5/5 stars for Bitter Sweet Memories. Its the weakest of the books for me, since nothing new is introduced and while I'm always down to read about tiny dragons, its doesn't feel like a conclusion that adds anything to the characters' journeys. It just confirms the paths characters took in the books they introduced in. I do love the series and I do think it worth reading all the books.

The Tea Dragon Tapestry by Katie O’Neill leads, becoming the best book in the Tea Dragon series!

The story was beautiful as always with some gorgeous lessons woven throughout. Greta’s black smithing was my favourite storyline in this graphic novel. We also get to know more about Minette’s back story. The illustrations were captivating as always. These books bring such peace and calm when being enjoyed. I love how creatures and humans alike come together and support each other as friends.

If you are new to the series, there is a wealth of information at the end of the book to fill you in on questions you may have.

Snuggle up with your favourite cup of tea and this graphic novel for an experience you won’t soon forget. I highly recommend all of these stories (and this is coming from someone who rarely reads graphic novels.) While I have read this is the last in the series, I really hope there will be more to come. I still feel there are so many stories to be told. I cannot wait to get my hands on a physical copy of this book.

I didn’t expect much going into this, as I mainly read it because it’s so beautiful 😂
I remember liking the Tea Dragon Festival a bit more than the Tea Dragon Society but this is my favorite so far!!

Once again, the art style was STUNNING. I don’t think there’s a graphic novel with a more beautiful one.
But this volume dealt with some ‘sadder’ themes (I don’t know how else to describe it), and I wanna say even depression? I could be wrong about that though. It definitely made me tear up (—> instant fave)
And all still accessible for children, combined with all the inclusivity 😍🥰

I’m so going to buy the physical copy and read it again when it’s released.

I was so excited to receive this book considering how much I loved the other books in this series and her other standalones. This one did not disappoint. I think this is the best art I've seen from her yet. It was so vibrant and gorgeous I couldn't help but stare at some of the work she had created. While the story was great the artwork in this alone was able to bring me to tears that should tell you how beautiful it is. I loved how a theme in this was grief as well as passion. I think these are two tricky subjects to discuss, especially in a children's book but I think they were executed very well. I am sad to see this series end but I think it was done perfectly. I will definitely have to keep an eye out for what Katie puts out in the future because her stories and art do something for my heart.

This is the first book I've read in the series, and I enjoyed it so much I want to read the rest as well. Greta and Minette's story is wholesome and I really love the tea dragons. The style of the illustrations fits the story really well. Soft, cute, and still playful.

Highly recommended for people who need something fluffy, dragons, or tea.

I absolutely adore this series. My heart aches to read all the books to my future children, and I think that's the epitome of a well-done middlegrade.

What I love most about these books is how very much they cater to both children and adults. There is so much depth to the story. I cried my eyes out during this one, which as a 24-year-old woman, shouldn't happen when reading what is essentially a picture book. However, O'Neill manages to speak to the child within all of us.

A must read for everyone.

This is the cutest illustrated story ever told. I love this series so much it has the cutest dragons and the stories are always so thoughtful and wonderful.

This is the third and final installment (which I hope isn’t entirely true) I love this series so much and hope more tea dragons are in our future.

In this story we are following Greta, and Minette who are learning to navigate the world. Greta has been offered a apprenticeship to forge with a prestige master smith. However she’s also dealing with her tea dragon’s depression over losing their last owner.

Minette is also struggling with coping with her new life after the monastery. Life isn’t how she pictured for herself and she is unsure if she’s heading down the right path.

I really love the messages in these stories they’re great lessons for everyone to remember.
I highly recommend this series to everyone, the story and the art are phenomenal.

While this wasn’t my favourite of the series, I still throughly enjoyed this next volume and as always Katie O’Neil’s illustrations are beautiful. We get to see characters from Society and the prequel Festival all together and a couple of new characters. Ginseng the tea dragon now lives with Greta but is still sad over the loss of her previous owner. Minette has been having strange dreams and as a result is a little sleep deprived. The theme of this volume overcoming road blocks in your life and sometimes are powerless to do anything about it. I was even brought to tears near the end of the book. There is also an excerpt on the history /origins of tea dragons at the end of the story.

This is one of the best books that I’ve read this year! Katie O’Neill is one of my favorites! Please read this heartfelt conclusion to one of my favorite series ever! The Tea Dragon Society, The Tea Dragon Festival, and now The Tea Dragon Tapestry weave such a wonderful story that makes your heart feel so warm inside! Oni Press even has an educator guide for the series so you can easily use it in a library or classroom setting.

I have loved the world of Tea Dragon Society over the past two books. The Tea Dragon Tapestry is such a beautiful conclusion to this story. There is a thread about finding one's purpose in the world through this final book, and I related to that a lot. I am a little sad to leave these wonderful characters behind, but I can't wait to read whatever Kate O'Neill writes next. I loved reading this because it felt like a beautiful warm cup of tea

This, along with the other books in the tea dragon series I think is a hidden gem that more people should be talking about! To be able to cram as much diversity into a children book, while not focusing too much on it is a real talent and i take my hat off to the author. I love the artwork that is in the book, and really felt for all of the characters in the book. The story was engaging the themes were amazing and I cannot talk more highly of this book.

The Tea Dragon Tapestry is the third comic in the Tea Dragon series. These comics are based in a fantasy world where human, animal hybrids care for small dragons called tea dragons. They get this name because tea can be brewed from the leaves and berries that grow on their heads.

In this volume Greta and Minette's characters are growing and learning more about themselves. Greta is trying to help the still grieving Ginseng and learn what she must to become an apprentice of a great blacksmith. Meanwhile Minette is struggling not just to remember who she was but to also understand who she is.


It is had to understand just how O'Neill does this. Not only does she manage to convey emotion and tell a story with real world effect while in a fantasy setting but she does so as well as give LGBTQ+ and disability representation. There may be some small concern about bestiality. (Erik I believe is Human where as his other half Hesekiel is not. Though this may be a mute point as both are sentient beings)

A lesser writer would struggle with just two of these aspects. Yet O'Neill makes caring for these characters as easy as if they were the readers family. In less than 140 pages the story moves forward and real change has taken place but it never seems rushed.

I had read The Tea Dragon Society but not the second book in the series The Tea Dragon Festival and it made little to no impact on my enjoyment of this comic. I was able to follow the story with ease and didn't feel lost. Yet again O'Neill's illustrations managed to convey such emotion and beauty, they had the ability to warm the heart and crush the soul equally.

The only thing that I was unsure about was the text book style entries at the end. While they were interesting I couldn't help feel they took away from the comic. Perhaps these entries would be better as a stand-alone book.

I don't think there is more I could want from a comic. Looking forward to the next and final one.

I have read every book by Katie O’Neill and while they are all fantastic and beautiful I think this one holds a particularly special place for me. It twined together the other two books in the series while also tackling its own set of issues.

In this book we follow as the two main characters grow and learn from those around them whom have already had to evolve and adapt in their lives. While there is much upheaval and little sureness in life (both in this book and outside of it), the characters don’t just magically find their ways or where they belong. This book is a process and though the characters’ journeys were not “completed” I feel content to let them continue on and I know they will find their ways.

This is the third book in a series but I had no problem understanding the plot and easily read it as a standalone. This really is a gorgeous book, the plot and illustrations are outstanding and I will be reading the other books in this series. The plot of this book deals with grief, disabilities and finding your place in the world and was totally captivating.

Sweet, simple conclusion to the tea dragon graphic novel series. These always feel like you're getting more of a snapshot or slice of life than a complete story, but they're relaxing to read and the artistry cannot be matched.

This entire series is just so special to me, and this newest installment is probably my favorite thing by Katie O’Neill to date. The Tea Dragon Tapestry truly feels like a love letter to remember loving yourself through all your phases.

I think something we just don’t really talk about enough as readers and reviewers is that sometimes we truly read a book at the most perfect moment in our lives, almost like it was destiny for us to choose this particular story at this particular moment, and that was very much me with The Tea Dragon Tapestry.I honestly don’t think I can put into words how much this story means to me at this time in my life, but I suppose I should give it a try still.

”The sadness, the loss, the hurt, as well as the joy, the love, the friendship – it is all part of you tapestry.”

This is a series about a small little village, where some of the community members have tea dragons! Tea dragons are little dragons that sprout little tealeaves when they are being well taken care of. And even though tea dragons are very rare, we get to fall a little bit more and more in love with their caretakers each installment!

This is also one of the most inclusionary graphic novels, which has some of the most beautiful diversity. This story has sapphic characters, gay characters, characters of all different skin colors, disability representation, nonbinary/genderfluid representation, and one of the most beautiful found families of all time.

Like always with my graphic novel reviews, I’m going to try to do little breakdowns of each chapter so I can come back and recap when needed! I’m going to try to keep this relatively spoiler free because this beautiful volume isn’t out yet but use caution still if you’d like to go into this one not knowing anything!

Brick is the cutest little coal sprite in the whole wide world. My heart’s quadrants still belong to Ginseng & Greta and Chamomile and Minette! Hesekiel and Erik and their tea dragons and little tea house mean everything to me too. And in this chapter, we get to see how tea dragons have an extremely strong bond with their caregivers!

➽ Chapter Two:
Minette starts to have magical dreams (that are drawn… so breathtakingly beautifully, oh my word, I’m still rendered absolutely speechless) and Greta is going to try for a blacksmithing apprenticeship!

➽ Chapter Three:
A lot happens in this chapter, but this is where the graphic novel starts to talk about our life’s purpose, and how sometimes our lives do not go the way we thought they would (even if extremely planned and laid out for us), but that is okay. We all experience phases where we question things, even ourselves, but we are never alone with that experience. Also, being nostalgic is very human (and dragon) things, that we all love to feel, but we shouldn’t compare the happiness of the past to the sadness we could be possibly experience in the present.

”It sounds strange, but I feel homesick for the person I used to be…”

➽ Chapter Four:
We get to see Rinn and Aedhan from The Tea Dragon Festival again and my heart felt like it had wings of it’s own! And how sometimes all our senses work together to remind us of happy or sad things and times.

”Taste has a strong association with memory”

This was my favorite chapter, and I kind of just wept while reading it. Life can be so hard, and so sad, and so unexpected, and so all of these things at the very same time, but you just have to remember that it will get better, it can get better, and that this is only part of where you are at in life right now. One of the most beautiful things about life is that it is a full journey, where we will change, and people will change, and that’s okay, an that can be beautiful, but we have to keep changing and keep growing and keep living.

”…Little one, you are the person you are meant to be”

And even if your journey might be a little unexpected, be happy that it is your journey. I truly know I sound like a bit of a self-help reviewer right now, but this chapter is just so beautiful, and hopefully, and left me so very excited to see where the rest of my journey will take me, no matter how many sad days are left and coming, because there will always be even more happy ones along the way, too.

”…Remember, that you are already whole.”

➽ Epilogue:
This epilogue was so good because it shows you the history on tea dragons! And Hesekiel is too kind to us to show us these secrets and stories of the tea dragons. And to remind us that all our stories are so very important and worthy to be told. And it’s also important to go on your own path and make many more new stories to keep on telling your loved ones who make you feel safe.

”Everything that happens is part of your wholeness”

The Tea Dragon Series is just a gift to the whole world. It feels like a comforting hug from my very own family and friends who are too far away to give me one. Again, this series just means a lot to me, and if you’re looking for a little light in a world that feels easy to be dark, then I really just recommend this installment with my whole heart and soul. Words and stories really have healing power, and this one truly made me feel so much lighter. And I promise, you are right where you are supposed to be too, friends.

OMG this book is PRECIOUS! The connections that they have with their dragons is perfect and I love the conversation of helping someone through the grieving process in such an easy and digestible format. Katie O'Neil can do no wrong!
