Need a little spice in life, then look awsy. This is ALL the spice! Hot and steamy scenes with a bit of thriller vibe. Kept me on the edge of my seat through the whole book.

I wish I could say I was giving this book any sort of positive feedback, but unfortunately, I cannot. I am very disappointed in how this story ended up playing out. The writing—specifically the tone of that writing—is incredibly juvenile for the genre; I felt uncomfortable reading something that didn’t have the level of maturity I was expecting while reading the international version of Fifty Shades. This was a DNF (did not finish) for me and I feel bad having to say that.

Eek. I was excited to read a sexy thriller but this was poorly written and the main character was completely unlikeable. She had no spine and let men walk all over her. Sure, there were some steamy scenes but there was no reason for any of it. Erotica can be story-driven and still be sexy - this was a lot of sex that wasn't sexy. It was actually kind of sad.

This read could use some work. It doesn’t have the greatest flow and the story fell flat for me. Lots of steamy scenes but there is no real depth to Eliza.

The story starts off with Eliza getting hired to nanny for a wealthy family during the summer in Italy. It's told in second person which is a little off putting but I was able to push past that. As I go along I feel the writing style is a little off, phrases have been repeated numerous times, and Eliza has no real depth to her. She's very bland and honestly...quite whiny.
.
I felt like the author tried to fit as many sex scenes in this book as possible, even maybe too many. And not good scenes either. When I say a man got off, start to finish, in a single page, ON MY PHONE....it needs more depth and plot please!
.
I felt this book could have some potential if the character development was worked on and it wasn't purely based on sex. But unfortunately, I just didn't much care for this one.

Great book with lots of twists and turns. Good style of writing and kept me wanting to read more. Enjoyed the characters and the story flowed well

This book was definitely not what I was expecting.
The biggest problem for me was how it was written in second person, it just seemed so strange and would have made more sense in first or third person.
The main character is addicted to sex, but has no problem with being treated disrespectfully by all of the male characters, multiple times a day. It was very repetitive and so predictable.
There was no real plot, new nanny goes to Italy, does exactly what they all expect her to do, then is upset that they used her. Not a book I would read again or recommend to others.
Thank you to NetGalley and The Publisher for allowing me to read and review this book.

This is one of the worst books I've ever read. The plot is shoddy and I hated the author's use of second person point of view.

Thank you Netgalley for letting me read this book in return for an honest review.

I went into this expecting a sexy and slightly thrilling book but I was so, so wrong. First of all, this main character has a name (Eliza) but it is in the second person which makes little sense unless you are in fact, called Eliza. I, personally, cannot get invested in a character who is supposedly me (with the perspective it is written in) but also has a name- it felt so confusing and detached which made it hard for me to get into it.

I really tried to push past the perspective issue but I found the book dull and that the character was incredibly obsessed with sex to the point it seemed a little unhealthy. I didn't finish this book but I did read enough to give a review.

Pros:
The cover

Cons:
2nd person (You)
A little too much sex (like to the point it wasn't needed)
Bland main character

A really fun and interesting read. I had an enjoyable time reading this and it held my attention the entire way through that I finished it within the day!

Disappointed. No real plot or story, Nothing really likeable about any of the characters. Weak Female, Nothing sexy about the men. C EC I expected a book about summer escapism.
I just wanted this book to be so much more. what it was. The writing style is all over the place and it doesn’t flow or work.. I am not sure the author knows which voice / perspective the book is written from.

This book is poorly written with a week, pushover main character and men who are utterly disrespectful and condescending.

Eliza is the horniest person ever. Didn't realize this was erotica - thought I was more like...coming of age fiction. I was very wrong. Parts of this felt like it was written by a 14 year old boy. "bring your breasts" ? What?????

Anyway - thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity.

This was such a disapointment and i feel that the book was missold to me as i thought it would be a mystery or thriller instead the book was just some girls being horny for most of the pages. The blurb made it seem like it would be more fluid with the sex but she was hungry for dick and only dick every single page even though there where other women in this but the main character was horrible and made them seem like they weren't sexually there anymore because they were middle aged

I just could not get into this book....I didn't like the main character at all. Slow moving, boring story.

I received an ARC of this book thanks to NetGalley and publisher Nowness Books in exchange for an honest review.

Okay, so firstly I missed that this was erotica. I do not read erotica so that was my bad. However, this review will be taking that fact into consideration. I also do think this book's blurb is misleading, as it implies there is some sort of dark/thrillery secret and it compares this book to several thrillers. This is not a fair comparison.

So Pink Villa is the story of a sex-addicted woman called Eliza who is hired as a nanny for a rich family. She then bangs a lot of people. That is the entire plot, by which I mean this book is just sex scene after sex scene. Okay, erotica is like this. But there are story elements hinted at early on which never come to fruition and, more importantly, these cast some really unfortunate implications over everything.

Eliza is the horniest character there has ever been. She doesn't care who she sleeps with and she is never satisfied. It is also strongly hinted at that Eliza was, if not outright assaulted, then creeped on by her stepdad. These squicky implications are compounded by the obvious daddy issues explored with one of her lover. I know some people are into that but this part of the book is not played up enough for it to be appealing on its own, nor is it downplayed enough for you to comfortably ignore it. I HATE the idea that she is horny because she was creeped on and, while I feel that's unintentional, it lurked in the background throughout the story.

Some of the writing is decidely not sexy as well. Twice the main character is told to 'come over here and bring your breasts' as if she could possibly leave them behind. The sex scenes are so relentless that they just blur into one. Also this is told in second person, which I'm not sure if that's common for erotica but might put some people off.

Ultimately, this book fell flat on so many levels. I think the sex scenes have potential to be great and they are great at points, but the characters are so flat and it all gets very repetitive after a while. This is definitely not a book for me and if you're hoping for a darker erotica, it's not the book for you either. There is one attempt at a 'twist' of sorts but it falls so flat that if this book wasn't compared to thrillers, I wouldn't have even realised that's what it was.

Overall Rating: 2/5 stars

Pink villa just wasn't for me. I was expecting a little more thriller a little less raunch. I am really not a fan of second-person narration so that had me off from the start. I expected something different from this novel so that's on me. I am just not the target audience for this kind of book.

Pink Villa is a raunchy and sexy thriller, which is a very easy read. Great way to pass a couple of hours.

Pink Villa is a rather sour erotic novel. I know you don't necessarily approach a book like this for a plot, but it is so perfunctory. Eliza is employed as a nanny to a wealthy family for a holiday in Italy. And that's it. The book does not let you know anything about Italy. Eliza, it becomes quickly apparent, has to have sex several times a day in almost identical ways. She has to get treated badly each time and she has to be pretty and rather dim. There is no edge to any of the encounters. Oh how I longed for a bit of variety. All the characters are two-dimensional.

When I requested this arc I assumed it would be a raunchy, quick read. I assumed there would be some sort of carefully thought out plot. Oh, how I was in for a shock.

Firstly, the book is written in the second person. Some readers may enjoy this, but it’s something I dislike.

Secondly, there is no plot. Zero. Okay, that’s a little harsh, the nanny goes on holiday with her employers, has lots of sex with lots of different people, is never satisfied, is constantly wet and has a penchant for numerous men at the same time. At the end of the holiday she realises she has been used and is upset. The end!

Thirdly, the main character, Eliza, is sex mad. I’m not talking a healthy sexual appetite, I’m not even suggesting a high sex drive. She requires multiple couplings throughout the day otherwise she is ‘desperate’. She literally does not care who is providing the ‘service’ as long as she’s getting it. Plus these middle aged men are amazing at offering repeat performances almost immediately after finishing round one haha! I’m not put off by graphic content, but this was just ridiculous.

I’ve never read a book so pointless. I read the 50 shades books years ago and while I wasn’t a fan of the ‘red room’ I quite liked the storyline. This book, however, has no storyline.

I’m not one for leaving negative reviews, so this is paining me. Therefore, I will end on a positive note...the author must have had an absolute blast writing so much steamy content.

I’m looking forward to reading other NetGalley reviews for this book. I’m intrigued to see if it’s just me (as a boring, 40something) who feels this way.

Thank you NetGalley for my advanced copy of this book 📚
