I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

Moving, uplifting, full of hope and the joyful message to live every day to the best of your ability, to remember how quickly it can all change and to find the beauty all around you.

What an amazing story. I couldn't get enough of it, and it really did give me all the feels.

The amount of research that must have gone into all the details regarding transplants and donors is incredible, and I felt as though I learnt a lot from reading this.

And it was impossible to predict the finale of the book, as it could have gone in some many ways and I couldn't help but read the last third of the book in one sitting, ignoring the world around me, as I had to know what would happen next.

For fans of the author, who like me are a tad surprised that this book isn't set in Italy, don't worry a rather familiar location does pop up, and provides a stunning backdrop to that portion of the book.

I think this will really open people's eyes about organ donation and whether or not they wish to be on the donor register. It seems like such a selfless thing to be able to do and to help others.

There are a lot of big topics covered in this rather special book, and I couldn't get enough of them all. I don't read these sorts of emotional, deep books all that often, but when I do, I know I'll be in for a story to really capture my imagination and empathy and this was no exception.

Just wow, Nicky Pellegrino has truly written a fabulous book here, and I am already eager to see what she writes next.

Thank you to Orion and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Vivi is drawn into a story about transplant patients and the donor family as the journalist writing for a tabloid newspaper, She is pushed on by a ruthless boss who is also her boyfriend, the catch is that she is the recipient of the donor heart
A wonderful story about the new family that develops under such strange circumstances.

If you are like me, and have signed up to be an organ donor, I bet you didnt stop to really think about what that it means to donate your organs to complete strangers. I hadn't ever stopped to think about my heart beating in another persons body. This story really brought those thoughts to the fore and is written in a way that provokes real empathy for anyone whose lives are touched by organ donation of a loved one and those who receive a transplant. Loved the part of the book set in Italy. Overall a good book.

A heart wrenching story of what it likes to know that somebody died to allow you to live. Vivi has always wondered about the donors heart she received and through her job as a journalist she is able to find out this information. She decides to meet the donors mum Grace and feels compelled to act upon her wishes/ needs. A story of hope, friendship, love, death and a whole host of other emotions. Well worth a read

Vivi is a reporter, Vivi has also had a heart transplant. Grace’s son Jamie died at 16 in a tragic accident, and five people are the recipients of his major organs. Grace wants to meet them all, and Vivi is the one to help her. You’ll need tissues - you’ve bern warned! a fabulous emotional read.

Ok warning you will need tissues for this one. It’s so emotional, it’s an absolutely beautiful story, touching and uplifting as well as the sadness, but you are definitely going to need tissues. It was such a well written story, I am in awe of the sensitivity and handling of the subject that Nicky manages, it’s just beautifully written and dealt with. Heartwarming, but emotional, this is up with my favourite reads for this year

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

This is a moving story about an emotive subject.

Our main character, Vivi, had a heart transplant at 19. Her donor was a teenager who died in a tragic accident. When Vivi contacts his mother, Grace, she asks Vivi to help her find the other recipients.

With a colourful and lively cast of characters, Tiny Pieces of Us, is a well written and absorbing novel. I particularly enjoyed the descriptions of Italy and the Villa Rosa.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for my copy of this book.

Tiny Pieces Of Us by Nicky Pellegrino is a beautiful contemporary novel that will lodge in your heart and soul.
The central theme of the novel is organ donation. This is a difficult theme, sensitively portrayed.
The reader sees lives affected by those who received donated organs and the one who made the decision to gift the organs. In pain and loss the gift of life is given to perfect strangers.
Pain and grief are constant companions. “She is lost in grief.” Grief never goes away. We have to learn to live with our pain. Grief brings conflicting emotions. “I cry… I get angry because he was taken too soon and it isn’t fair.” We have to live with the continual ‘what if’ and ‘why?’ A life snuffed out in its prime. All that potential lost.
Living with someone with a life limiting condition affects all those around – family and friends. There is the constant fear that your loved one could be lost at any moment. “All the wealth he had worked for, all the success and status; seemed irrelevant as he faced losing a child.” We cannot keep death at bay no matter how much money we have. Priorities change as we realise that the riches of this world lie in people.
There are some beautiful friendships built within the novel. Love and care radiate from the pages.
Nicky Pellegrino writes beautifully and sensitively. The novel contains sadness and you will need tissues. However the overwhelming impression that I am left with is one of hope and of love.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

I absolutely loved this story and ploughed through it in just a few days. The very sensitive subject was handled beautifully by the author.

I haven't read any of Nicky's previous books but will definitely be doing so in the future. I believe that Villa Rosa, the holiday villa in this story, has appeared in other books and I love this style of writing - much like the books by Shari Low.

I really liked the mix of characters in the book and the differences and how they handled their situation was interesting. The plot surrounding making organ donation an opt-out scheme has obviously become a reality in the UK this year and I think that it is great and will help so many.

I would definitely recommend this to all fans of chick-lit who like their stories to have a little depth to them. I also think there is so much scope for continuing the story of some of these characters - Vivi and her sister especially. A fab read.

As always Nicky’s books are a delight. This was a delicate subject beautifully handled. Oh and to find myself back in Villa Rosa with Rafaella in the kitchen was especially welcome.

I have read Nicky Pellegrino's previous books and enjoyed them very much. I was delighted to receive an early preview copy of this book from Netgalley and the Publisher.
This is different from her usual books., the storyline follows Vivi, a journalist who had a heart transplant 7 years ago. Her Editor convinces her to start a campaign about organ donation. She reluctantly gets drawn into finding the other recipients from the same organ donor. They each share 'a tiny piece' of him.
Some of the storyline takes place in Italy, in and around Villa Rosa. This is the location that several of Nicky Pellegrino's previous books are set in. There are also the customary delicious food descriptions, which always sound amazing.
The storyline kept me guessing ad to how the story was going to end. It definitely made me think about organ donation, and the emotional and social side of it.
I really enjoyed reading this book, it is
very emotional and thought provoking. It is very well written and heartwarming. I hope that there will be more books by her.

Vivi Palmer’s heart is not her own, it used to belong to a 16 year old boy called Jamie. In fact, tiny pieces of Jamie are scattered amongst five other people. When Vivi meets Jamie’s mum Grace, Grace requests Vivi’s help in bringing all those who received a part of Jamie together.

A heartwarming and compelling story. A great book from start to finish.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

Such a beautiful story about Vivi Palmer whos life was saved by a young boys death .she has a piece of him - his heart.

Even though she first doesn’t want to, a campaign is started with her, to change the organ donation law to opt-out rather than opt-in.

Her interest Is piqued, in where her heart came from. She soon discovers Grace - a mother who turned off her sons life support in order to save 5 other peoples lives and is still heartbroken.

Her relationship with Grace, and finally the others who received the organs grows and then Graces world is turned upside down.

It was good to see Vivi change as a person and also see her relationships around her become stronger.

I found the ending moving in every way.

Tiny Pieces of Us is a beautiful story about Vivi Palmer whos life was saved by a young boys death - she received his heart.

Unwillingly at first, she embarks on a campaign to change the organ donation law to opt-out rather than opt-in. The publicity around the campaign piques her interest in where her heart came from. She soon discovers Grace - a heart broken mother who turned off her sons life support in order to save 5 other peoples lives.

Vivi's relationship with Grace and eventually the other organ receivers develops and soon Grces world is turned upside down.

This book is an enjoyable read, it was fun to see Vivi change as a person and her relationships around her become stronger. The ending is moving in all the right ways.
