Keith wants to go to an inventor fair in Paris however his parents say no in favour of his genius sister and so he hatches a plan to steal her brain trying anything from his own wacky invention to hypnosis as he wants to have his sister's brilliant ideas from her brain to win prize money to afford his trip.

However we see how each sibling wants a go in the other's shoes and just maybe the family could be united enough to be able to spend more time together?

Funny, quirky and guaranteed to make kids laugh!

Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them

I thoroughly enjoyed Jo Simmons hilarious adventure, full of puns and beautifully illustrated by Nathan Reed.

Keith Jr is an imaginative and inquisitive young man who is always inventing or conducting crazy experiments. He dreams of attending the Inventors Fair but his parents are not convinced, instead spending all their time and energy on Keith’s genius sister - Min. After discovering Min not only wins trophies, but also prize money, Keith decides to take matters into his own hands by becoming a genius and winning the money he needs.

This story follows Keith’s attempt to become a genius and to the siblings attending the Junior Mega Brain competition.

While this is a lighthearted adventure, I enjoyed the development of the siblings relationship, the greater understanding they had of each other and how Simmons highlighted how they were each jealous of the other, for very different reasons.

I really enjoyed this story. I have read other books by this author and this well and truly lived up to expectations. The book tells the tale of Keith who wants to be a genius like his sister but realises that he is a genius in his own way. The book was really funny and great for kids young and old. I would recommend this for ages 8 and up.

Keith is an inquisitive boy, who loves meeting his Grandad on his narrowboat, investigating whether nails can grow on sausages, and making his own stinky scents. His genius sister, Min, is always entering and winning competitions and contests, and Keith is jealous. In this light-hearted and funny story, Keith causes chaos in the Junior Mega Brain Quiz, but it is Mina who learns something in the end. I liked the fact that the siblings learned to appreciate each other more over the course of the story. It's a humorous, over the top story, with snooty TV show hosts and pushy parents, which confident readers aged 7+ will enjoy, with fun illustrations.
