After watching Icarus and being fascinated by the whole story, I just had to read this. And boy, I was not disappointed.
Grigory Rodchenkov is a charismatic genius regardless of your opinion of his motives or choices throughout his career. This book gives us further insight into both alongside his revelations of the sheer breadth of the Russian doping scandal and the depths to which all levels of sports industry lowered themselves, with the knowledge and approval from the highest ranking people in the country.
Brilliant stuff and a worthy winner of Sports Book of the Year award.

Well done to the author. A very brave thing to do and interestingly told. The most surprising thing is that this isn't told in black and white terms.

An exceptional book, giving a deep dive look at the Russian doping scandal. Fascinating and gives additional information to that covered in the Icarus documentary

One of my most surprising reads of the year! I didn't have any interest surrounding doping in sports, but the author told his story with plenty of details to keep me interested. I also really appreciated a lot of the additional information about his life in Russia and expanding on the picture so we got a fuller idea of his life. I think it really helped explain how it was expected of his and a natural next step to start hiding this evidence.

The audiobook was also a great choice. I listened to the book all in one day and it was so easy to follow along. I think the author did a good job of keeping the writing brief and avoided over explaining.

A fascinating insight into an almost unimaginable era in Russian sport. The bravery of the author in writing this book should not be forgotten. This book will destroy everything you think you know about doping in sport.
