I frantically turned the pages until I finished it. An excellent psychological thriller.
Cassie stares at the woman on her doorstep in disbelief. Just months after losing her only son, Josh, here stands a stranger claiming to be Josh’s girlfriend. But it’s not only the woman Cassie is shocked by, it’s the baby nestled in Kim’s arms. Cassie’s grandchild.
I know what you did.
As Cassie tries to do what’s best for baby Samuel, she starts to receive threatening messages from someone from her past – someone Cassie has been hiding from for a long time. Cassie is frightened that her biggest secret is about to be revealed and she will lose everything, including her precious grandson.
You took everything from me. Now you need to pay.
As the messages get more sinister, Cassie realises the person behind them knows every detail about her life and she fears that she is being watched. Could Kim be the link between Cassie and the mysterious messenger? And is she in danger now that she has welcomed this woman and her baby into her home?
I loved Joshua in the story.
The way Sheryl made her characters and the suspense of the story is mind blowing.
Narration of the story is excellent and keeps the reader on the edge of their seat.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy of this awesome psychological thriller.

A few months after Cassie loses her son Josh in a tragic accident, a girl called Kim turns up on her doorstep not only claiming to be Josh's girlfriend, but also showing off a baby who she claims is Josh's child, Cassie's grandchild. Cassie welcomes them with open arms. However she soon starts to receive threatening messages and thinks her past is going to come back to haunt her, and also wonders if there is a link between Kim and the messages. Could she have been too trustworthy allowing Kim and baby Samuel into her life? Could she be in danger?

A gripping and tense story that keeps you guessing until the end. Full of secrets, lies, suspicious characters and shocks and surprises. Another great book from Sheryl Browne, I really recommend it.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of the book in return for my honest feedback.

The New Girlfriend by Sheryl Browne is another gripping read from an author who is undeniably at the top of her game. If you are looking for a taut, addictive, compulsively readable thriller, then look no further.

Cassie is devastated when an accident claims the life of her son, Josh. But when a woman she has never met arrives at her door claiming that her infant is Josh's son, Cassie feels that she has been given a second chance to make things right. Cassie is battling some demons of her own, and holding on to secrets so dark that even her adoring husband, Adam, is completely unaware of what lurks beneath. And can Kim, the mysterious woman who claims to be the mother of her grandson, and whose odd behaviour arouses suspicion at every turn be not only believed, but trusted?

This is another of the edge of your seat, read in one sitting offering that I have come to expect from Sheryl Browne, and I cannot wait to get my hands on whatever comes next. 4.5 stars

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC.

I couldn't wait to read this and now I'm sad its over! Another brilliant book by Sheryl. She has such a way with her writing, you are drawn straight in and the only problem is how to put the book down! I read it in less than a day, it was excellent!
