I think Brit Bennett is an incredible writer. I picked this up straight after reading The Vanishing Half and it's just as good. She's so insightful and empathetic. All her characters are beautifully drawn, I believed in every one of them. I will definitely pick up whatever she writes next.

Why have i not read this book long before now?? It is stunning. So beautifully written, with characters who feel real. I will be thinking about this book for a long time and I've already recommended it to so many people.
