I can’t wait to read the full instalment! I’m really excited to see where the story is taken. I’ve read books by the same author under a different name and loved them. I’m looking forward to the full version in order to make a full review

This book is about a detective who lives with his wife in a small town near London and is trying to solve a mystery. I enjoyed all of the characters who lived in the small town and trying to figure out who the mastermind was behind the murders. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

I will leave a review on Amazon and B&N on Oct. 29, 2020

This was a teaser and not the whole book, so it is a little harder to review it. Overall I felt like it would be a good read, but I found it slow moving up until the point that it ended. I think if it have gotten more into the main part of the storyline it would have been easier to know more about the book. Having said that I do think the full book would be an interesting read so I would recommend reading it.

I review the ARC teaser from NetGalley and the publisher, and this is my fair and honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read the teaser of this book.

The story centres around James Walker, who is a detective and his wife Annie. They used to live in busy London until a case of James’ went wrong and they decided to move to Annie’s deceased mothers house in Kirkby Abbey. James receives a dead partridge in the post with a threatening Christmas card from an unknown source threatening to kill 12 people in 12 days.

As this was a teaser of the book I can’t give a full review, but the book sounds great, with a brilliant storyline. From what I read the writing is great, and very gripping, a real page turner, and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of it when it’s published. Highly recommended.

This is described as a teaser for a book due to be released at the end of October and never has the word teaser been more aptly employed. It contains the first few chapters of what promises to be a heartstoppingly exciting serial killer thriller.. I am impatiently awaiting the book's release date.

When the festive season is almost upon us each year, I always like to try a few Christmas-flavoured thrillers but being quite the grinch I'm always torn between liking or loathing the time in which it is set. For that very reason, I am appreciative that this was initially released on NetGalley as a sampler as I don't enjoy leaving negative feedback for a book. Luckily, I loved this and decided it was completely up my street, so much so that I nabbed myself a copy of the full-length version on here and will review it accordingly. Thank you for the sample all you good people at Avon and may the season of thrills and chills treat you all well.

This is a sneak peek of a brand new crime novel featuring DI James Walker.

Newly relocated with his wife to a small, remote village he comes home to find a parcel on his porch. Wishing he had put on gloves first, he opens the box only to be surprised with what he sees ... as well as the attached note.

Think the 12 Days of Christmas and a promise for a body every day.

Not long after, the first body is found.

This was offered as a teaser .. just enough to whet your appetite.,, and it succeeded. I will definitely be getting the full novel. It looks like a great start to a new series featuring deftly drawn characters.

Many thanks to the author / Avon Books UK / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime fiction teaser. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

It's hard to do a full review of this book seeing as it's just a taster, but from these first few chapters I have read I have really enjoyed.
It's very easy to read, and it's the sort it book that tries to get me thinking from the detectives point of view!
I have a feeling I will really enjoy the full book of this.

I loved the idea of this novel and was really getting into the plot when the taster ran out. Genuinely excited for when the book is published. I think it will make an excellent read and a good Christmas present for crime fiction fans.

DI Walker and his wife Annie have moved to Kirby Abbey, Cumbria to a house her mother left her. A move instigated because of the possible threats to them from released convicted killer Andrew Sullivan. The courts having decided after thirteen months in prison that he was wrongly convicted when another man confessed.
But as Christmas approachs they receive a parcel containing a dead bird and a threatening message inside a Christmas card. Threats that there will be twelve deaths during the twelve days of Christmas, deaths of twelve people who deserve to die.
Unfortunately I did determine who was the killer, and I really didn't care much for the character of Annie Walker.
An ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was not the full book so it is a bit hard to actually review. Although this was not a full book I did enjoy it and would love to read the full book. It was very interesting from the beginning. Of course I can not comment on the ending because this was just a sample book. but I do believe that it would be a great book based on what I read.

OMG!!! I can not wait for this book to come out! What an excellent teaser this was! So much suspense and so many suspects that leave us with so many questions. Alex Pine sure does know how to write a thriller and one that is set around the Christmas time is just up my alley.

O' please come on release day!!! I am so ready to find out what is going to happen with this one!

You will not regret anything about reading this teaser except that it is just that, a teaser!! We need the rest of this one ASAP!

I voluntarily read and reviewed this teaser and all opinions are my own. Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for an advanced copy of this teaser to put me in agony until the release! (Just kidding)

This is the first book in a new detective series.and the debut book of this author. It was an ok read but felt at times it could have been more exciting, however this will not stop me from reading the second book of the series as I think the writing style will improve 3.5 stars

This was very promising and i love the premise for the book. Sadly, this was only a sampler sow I have to wait to continue on with the reading. Setting a thriller during Christmas is a great idea, and the fast pacing promises a book perfect to read when one wants a time out during busy pre-Christmas times.

This is a teaser for the first book in a new series by Alex Pine .
We meet Detective Inspector James Walker. This book included up to Chapter 12 and I cannot wait to read the rest of it. I cannot give a full review because I haven't read the full book but I really enjoyed what I read and will definitely pick up a copy of this book when it releases.

Good set up to a Christmas cosy murder mystery. The sampler was a really decent length so I had forgotten it wasn’t the full book and was gutted when it suddenly stopped! Looking forward to reading the whole thing.

A Christmas teaser, which is sure to garner further interest and reading. One can't wait for the book to be released, so we can continue on with this Christmas themed mystery. Something about Christmas and murders, which seem to always get me into the holiday spirit!

Excellent taster, of which I can tell will be a proper mystery.

Well written and great characterisation. Lots of scope for a proper mystery.

Can’t wait to see how it ends.
