Very interesting to read a teaser. I’ve not had the pleasure to do that before. I am excited about the premise of the book and I look forward to reading the full release.

Crime For Christmas......
A teaser of a new release - crime for Christmas - and the premise is certainly an exciting one. This short sample is a promise of things to come. Looking forward to reading the final release.

This is certainly what it states.
A teaser.
I’m loving the sound of this book and think the full version will be pretty damn good.

Thanks to NetGalley for a chance to read a “teaser” for this book.

Someone doesn’t like DI James Walker. A criminal who gets out of jail is definitely on the list, but there may be others. The problem is, they can’t prove who it is. When he gets a threatening Christmas card saying that there will be several murders, he can’t tell if it is a hoax or an actual threat.

Unfortunately, this “teaser” in too short and does not get far enough to totally get me interested, but it shows promise. I guess I’ll have to wait for the rest of the book.

Although this was just a teaser I can’t say that the story grabbed me. The idea seems ok but I thought after the first day with a partridge, the second day would have French hens ..... etc. But the theme didn’t carry on for me the way I thought it should. Additionally was each card left one day or were the murders going to be one a day?

An interesting idea but I didn’t find the first 12 chapters quite gripping enough

The teaser of The Christmas Killer, provided by Avon Books through NetGalley, was excellent! I already know that I need to read the completed book to find out what happens.

In the teaser, we are introduced to a host of characters who all seem to hold a secret. Kirkby Abbey, the quaint setting provides an excellent holiday escape, even though we quickly find out that everything is not as it seems in this quiet village. Tense relationships, decades old grudges, and secrets quickly come to the forefront as mysterious packages and post cards begin arriving, hinting at sinister events to come.

The teaser was a nice introduction to the cast of characters and built the action up well. There are several potential suspects and it is obvious that the plot will only get more suspenseful as everything builds up.

I did not realize when I clicked on to request this that this was only a teaser. I thought it was a full book so I do not want to commit to a partial book so I will unable to give a fair and accurate review. Thank you for the opportunity.

The teaser for this Christmas killer chiller sets everything up nicely! We’ve got some great suspects and some creepy, threatening Christmas cards with the promise of twelve murders over the twelve days of Christmas – not to mention a gruesome dead partridge - what more could you ask for during the festive period? Great premise and a good pacy beginning – I can’t wait to find out if the killer delivers!

Review of 12-chapter teaser. I enjoyed the Christmas theme and how well it was integrated into the mystery, with clues arriving in Christmas cards and through a blood-soaked partridge, with threats to mark the twelve days of Christmas with twelve corpses. Potential conflicts and suspects abound, from a vengeful gangster to squabbling relatives.

I like the premise, but I am uncertain whether I would finish the book. The writing is heavy on exposition, burying dramatic developments after much explanation, and the pacing seems off. After twelve chapters, with many repetitive threats, there is still no corpse. The main characters also seem implausibly skittish given their putative backgrounds.

Many thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

In the first chapter I was unsure, not enough information about the characters to draw me in straightaway. The focus was more on a previous event in their lives that felt important but we weren't getting to experience that story. I felt like when I start a book that had a prequel I wasn't aware of. By the end I was hooked and disappointed to realise it was only a sample. It's a slow start when it comes to the characters, I still don't feel invested in them emotionally but I'm definitely intrigued to find out more about them. I can't wait to read the rest to find out what happens. The plot is what grabbed my attention and looks like it's going to be great. I'm hoping to fall in love with the main characters because I love finding a new series to obsess over. I've rated four stars purely because I don't know enough about the main characters yet.

Review based on a teaser courtesy of Avon books.
DI James Walker and his wife, Annie, have moved from London to A small village in Cumbria. A different pace of life for James and the threat of an old case is hanging over him. Just before Christmas a package arrives that could spell the end of peace for the village.
Brilliant characters and easy to get sucked in to! Look forward to finding out what happens after chapter 12!

This is only a teaser but I’m already so much into this book

This is definitely a book you should read , promise it will grip you from the beginning .

This is a police procedural with a festive setting. James, a detective inspector in the Met moves to Cumbria when the threat of vengeance from a gangland boss looms. The village in Cumbria, the childhood home of his wife Annie has its share of deceit, hate and secrets but is someone willing to kill?

James is a likeable protagonist, straightforward and dedicated. Annie's past in the village is chequered. Has her moving back started something dreadful?

In this initial sample of the story, there are no murders, only menace and threats. Suspense builds as the possible suspects emerge.

This is going to be a Christmas the villagers' don't forget. I look forward to reading what happens next.

I received a sample of this book from Avon Books UK via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I knew this would be a teaser before reading it. That is fine, however, even this small portion of the book failed to grab my interest. There was something about the tone of the narration that bothered me and I felt it was a bit stilted. It seemed more overblown than intriguing and honestly I really didn't care to find out more.

I am intrigued. I am hooked. I am invested. I am anxious to see what happens next

I NEED MORE.

I obviously knew this was only a teaser and not the full novel when I downloaded the e-galley, but now I am a bit regretful that I decided to do so, because I wish it was the completed book because I am so eager to find out what happens next!

This story immediately captured my attention, and I found it to be a very unique thriller story, as I think the twelve days of Christmas plot is very interesting one. Since this was only a sample and therefore I was only able to get a partial feel of the story, I can't say with 100% that i'll love it but so far it seems promising.

I love holidays, and holiday themed stories, I love thrillers, and I love stories that hook me from the start, so this book seems right up my alley!

I can't wait for the book to be released in its entirety so that I can continue on with the rest of the story!

I am a little heartbroken that this was just a teaser because it pulled me in right from the beginning.
The pages just flew by with the plot being incredibly captivating. I am eagerly waiting for this to be released so that I can grab a copy and find out what happens. HIGHLY recommend it.

Brilliant little teaser and yes I want to read more. I was gripped by what I've read so far and enjoyed the characters.
Sigh, I guess I will have to request the book.
