Leena and her grandmother, Eileen, decide to try a two-month swap. Between the home swapping and the British narration, this reminded me a lot of the movie The Holiday. I loved the sweet story and the narration made this so easy to listen to.

This is a fun read. If you are looking for something that is not too deep and a good escape from the real world. this is your book. Beth O'Leary has a fun twist on the switching of lives. I enjoyed this book as my escape from my crazy busy life. Thanks for a fun read.

I loved this book so much. This is the author of The Flatshare, which was equally amazing. This gist: Grandma Eileen and her Granddaughter Leena swap homes/locales for 2 months. 79 year-old Eileen heads to London to try some internet dating and Leena takes over at Grandma Eileen's place while also trying to mend a relationship with her mother and deal with her lasting grief from her sisters death a year ago. Chaos and hilarity ensue.
This book was fantastic. O'Leary pulls you into the story and gives you characters you fall in love with. Are they logical situations... no. But I don't want logic, O'Leary gives you hope, funny banter, belly laughs. and tugs at those heartstrings. She is my go-to rom-com author. And she knocked this one right out of the park.

This book matches the cover well, it's cute and heartwarming. The story is cute and I love how Lina and her grandmother both get out of their comfort zone to find friends. Really interesting and adorable premise.

The narration was distracting and a bit sloppy. I think it really took away from the book overall.

I really enjoyed the actual story, The Switch, but sadly I dislike the audio book. The characters didn't feel real to me and the narration of Eileen utterly annoying. The smacking slurpy sounds were awful!

This was an unexpectedly heartwarming book - a bit like The Holiday with a twist. I found it so refreshing to read about an older woman looking for love & that romantic relationships weren't the entire focus of this book!

My love for this book is immeasurable!

What started as a quite slow book, turned into a can't stop listening, listening while I'm supposed to be working, book.

The characters are absolutely lovable but more important absolutely and totally realistic!

The chemistry between all the characters made this a laugh out loud read, with strangers giving me funny looks.
But I didn't care because I was so absolutely drawn into Leena and Eileen's lives.

A story about never being too old or young to try something new. A story about familial relationships, but also about love and how important it can be in our lives. A story that made me be kinder to old people and also kinder to myself and my struggles.

A definite read for people who need a good Rom-Com, but also a story about, forgiveness, love and second chances at starting over in life and love.

I would 100% recommend this to any person who asks.

Such a fun, heartwarming and adorable book. This made me want to hug my grandmother and tell her how much she means to me! While slightly predicable, this was a quick read and such a cute premise.

Super cute story :) I especially liked how both Lina and her grandmother get out of their comfort zone, and how they make lasting friendships with people from a completely different age (Lina with people her grandma’s age, her grandma with people Lina’s age).

The Switch is a fun, relatable audiobook with interesting and sweet protagonists the reader wants to befriend. The narration is excellent and the story has good pacing. The ending was satisfying and I would recommend this book to lovers of British fiction..

Loved this book!!!! Beth O'Leary is such a good author and I find myself completely drawn into her stories and into the characters.

I absolutely ADORED this story. Beth O'Leary is now solidified as one of my favourite authors. I love her humour and the charaters she creates.

The narration of this audiobook was excellent. There's something about hearing O'Leary's words spoken with the British accent and intonation that they're meant to be said it that made it all the more hilarious.

I love stories with characters from multiple generations that feel heartwarming and hilarious at once and The Switch absolutely delivered that. I can't wait for O'Leary's next release later this year.

I loved the Flatshare and was hoping for an equal love to this one. I enjoyed the story but wasn’t as engaged and page turning with this one! I thought the handling of grief in this book was very well done. It was a heartwarming read but it really took about 50% in for me to be hooked. Overall looking forward to Beth O’Leary’s next amazing book!

This is my first audio ARC from Netgalley! I’m not the best at audiobooks so it took me a few attempts to really get into the it. I wasn’t sure about the dual POVs at first but I did grow to like it. There were a few times I laughed out loud too. The story was good on audio but I learned I prefer a book to an audio book. Thanks to Netgalley for the audio ARC.

Highly enjoyed this book, the narrator was great, this is my second book by Beth O'Leary and it didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed and I can't wait to see what she brings out next.

SYNOPSIS | Leena is struggling after the death of her sister & is being forced to take a two month paid sabbatical from work. Her grandmother (Eileen) is newly single & looking for a second chance at love since her husband left her, but her small Yorkshire village doesn't have an abundance of eligible bachelors. They both decide to switch lives for 2 months & see what comes of it.

WHAT I LIKED:
- told in dual POV, but I definitely enjoyed Leena's grandmothers chapters the most (she is a ray of sunshine)
- the humor throughout was delightful

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
- I wanted Leena to give Ethan the boot much earlier in the story so I could watch her romance with Jackson blossom without feeling icky about potential cheating
- too many side plots that just didn't end up going anywhere (the romances also weren't the primary focus)
- I wasn't wholeheartedly invested in the whole switcheroo storyline
- I have realised that audiobooks sadly aren't my favourite method of ingesting a story (I found Lena's narrators accent really off putting)

Beth O’Leary has quickly become one of my favorite authors. It took me a while to get through the audiobook- I wish I had requested the ARC as well. But, like “The Switch” I loved this book.

I really enjoyed listening to the audiobook. My first audio ARC at Netgalley. The book explores grief in a most realistic way. I am more partial to Eileen's story than Leena.

Definitely recommend the book.

This was such a great little listening experience. Leena and Eileen switching places- both at very different points, times and ages of their lives but each looking for change. There was so much growth here, which I loved. With both ladies. Some love interests and relationships, but I don't really classify this as a romance. More of a learning experience. Loved it!
