Thanks to NetGalley, publisher and author, for allowing me to have a free copy of this audiobook. I really liked this book from the start. I had a problem, though; It would stop at odd places. When I tried to play again, it would take me to a different place in the book than the one I had finished. I tried to bookmark where I was so I would not lose my place next time it stopped but It didn't work. So sad.

I loved the voices...especially the mystery voice at the end.

This was a pretty good story. Not overly gory or twisty however.

Everyone is suspect. All have motive. So whodunnit?

It’s not easily guessable. And that I enjoyed!

Detective Jack Harper is called in to investigate a murder, but is shocked to discover the victim was the woman he was sleeping with just the night before. He can't let anyone know, his lies would destroy his career. Anna Andrews, Jack's ex wife is the journalist covering the case and the relationship between Jack and his ex is complicated, to say the least. To be honest the creepiest character in this story is anti hero, Jack, a man it's impossible to like. Armitage and Racine do an amazing job of bringing this domestic thriller to life, with excellent pacing and a dramatic flair that emphasizes the air of menace

Thank you netgalley and Macmillan audio for this amazing audio book !!!!!

So so good a page tuner from the start, Story of Jack Harper (Detective) and Anna Andrews ( a TV anchor person/ reporter) in a small town where usually not much happens but when a murder takes place .... you really need to listen to the audiobook/read the book to find out what happens next.
Both narrators Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine did a fantastic job. There are different POV in the book and they brilliantly expressed the emotions and carried out the narratives. Definitely preferred team narrators it makes the story more real and interesting.
A psychological thriller, murder mystery and suspenseful story as soon as I felt I found out what was happening the turns in the story left me pondering again. Totally recommend this as a July must read !

The storyline itself was not the most exciting one, but it was enjoyable and complete as a whole without any plots left hanging mid air. The narrators did an excellent job though, it literally gave me chills while I was listening. I would strongly recommend an audiobook version.

A 3.5 stars story but the audio itself made it to 4.

This audiobook was ok for me. It was written well enough to keep me interested but as a mostly run of the mill high school girls getting back at eachother, it seemed somewhat predictable. I had a hunch on the twisty ending but wasn’t 100% confident. Maybe I just read too many thrillers lol. I did LOVE the fact that during the audiobook they disguised the killers voice so you couldn’t really tell it was a man or a woman. That did make it a tad bit harder to figure out who really was the killer.

The story I enjoyed just I found that the audio quality wasn't as good as what i was expecting. The voices as well didn't seem to match for me and i know there was 2 readers just they didn't seen to mesh well together

It took away from the story

Oh Alice!

Your prose is so enticing...making a cup of tea sounds so irresistible!

The musings of your characters so honest and thought provoking-
like when Anna tucked money into the food she gave the homeless girl, saying she didn’t mind if she spent the money on alcohol-after all-that is what she spent her money on too...

Your misdirection flawless, with plenty of plausible red herrings for us to suspect and then reject along the way!

So, please realize that the animal abuse you insist on including in your books is gratuitous-it isn’t needed for shock value, when you have the talent that you do, and SO many of your readers do NOT want to read it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️-minus one star for making me ENDURE THAT!!

There are always two sides to every story-meaning someone is always lying

In this case, we have three:

Anna Andrews-BBC presenter covering a murder in Blackdown, the sleepy, countryside village she grew up in.

DCI Jack Harper, the lead investigator who doesn’t confess that he knew the murder Victim, until he realizes he is becoming a suspect.

And-the murderer-a distorted VOICE on the audio, who could be male or female, and who explains the motive and murder to YOU, the reader, beginning in Chapter One.

All lead messy and imperfect lives, but where other reviewers disliked them-I actually felt sorry for them and was hoping they would eventually find their way...

I found this to be a SLOW burn, as the back stories of the characters, and the clues to the crime, are revealed in a TANTALIZING manner, alternating between ALL three perspectives until the final reveal in the end.

All of your questions are answered and again, it’s a book that BEGS you to reread the first chapter after the last, so you can see the clues you missed.

“Loose threads should be tied up-they can be SO messy!”

“Sometimes I lie” was a 5 star read for me.
“I know Who You Are” only earned two stars
“His and Hers” returns to form-again 1 star deducted for gratuitous CAT abuse.

Thank You to NetGalley, and Macmillan for providing an Audio ARC, in exchange for a candid review!

3.5 stars I really enjoyed this book. It was full of twists and turns and definitely held my interest. I did find it slightly confusing at some points but it had a great ending.

Fast-paced and engaging thriller!

Opens off with a blast and will get you hooked right away. And the ending is just amazing. The alternative narratives of Jack(his) and Anna(her) were interesting and kept the complicated plot more straightforward. The twists throughout seemed predictable but the brilliant twist at the end will blow your mind away. It is definitely addictive!

The audio version was amazing. The killer voice was creepy and chilling. It was fun to listen as well.

My first audiobook from the publisher on NetGalley! I wasn't planning on reading His & Hers but couldn't resist downloading the audiobook, and I am so glad I did. I enjoyed listening to Richard Armitage & Stephanie Racine narrate the story, and they drew me into the story right from the start. I usually only listen while I am doing chores around the house, or I find myself too tired to read however, I found myself wanting to sit down and just listen to the story.

The story is cleverly told through divorce couple Anna and Jack's POV in his and her alternating chapters as the story unfolds. The story is easy to listen to with the different sides to it, and if my focus wandered to something else, it was easy to get back into the flow of the story. The her chapters start with the time of the day, and that kept things on track for me. I thought both narrators fit the characters, were convincing and worked well together. Well, I didn't find the story all that suspenseful they added some tension to the story with their voices.

The story starts off lighter with a murder, and I started to get comfortable with the pace and then as secrets are revealed things turned darker than I expected. After reading Alice Feeney's last book, I am not sure why I didn't except a darker turn to the story. I think listening makes it sound a bit more disturbing for me than reading it. And then some animal scenes came up, and I wished I wasn't paying attention then, however, I did practice some selected hearing there.

The story is a twisty and entertaining one to listen to and I am not sure if I would have enjoyed reading it as much as listening to it. It did keep me guessing, and I went back and forth with my suspicious until I thought again I had things figured out just to find out I didn't. I enjoyed that final reveal that I did not see coming and everything wrapped up well for me. I highly recommend the audiobook.

Posted on Goodreads and will be posted on my blog on the release date.

This is the first book I've read by Alice Feeny and I am SO glad I did. Trust me. YOU WILL NOT be disappointed. This book was quite a thrilling ride on the crazy train. Twists and turns galore. Peculiar characters with SEEECRETS. Told in two alternate POV's with a creepy third narrator who could be anyone. I thought I had a clear idea of who the killer was about a third of the way through the book but, then wait! I was right. I was wrong. I was right. I was wrong, and so on. It had me guessing right up to the end with those beautiful twisty turns that make you second guess yourself and crave from a thriller. I listened to this thanks to NetGalley ARC. Narration by Richard Armitage (Red Dragon-film) and Stephanie Racine-who narrated Feeny's 'Sometimes I Lie'-were spot on.
I can't describe how this book varied from other thrillers because I feel that my lack of brevity would just lead to spoilers. So please, just read it or listen to it and you'll know what I mean!!

Anna Andrews is the lunchtime news presenter for the BBC. Or, was, until the woman she was filling in for returns from maternity leave. Desperate to maintain relevant in a cut-throat world, Anna heads back to her hometown to cover a murder. Jack is a detective inspector who has never covered a murder before. Or, that’s what they want us to think.

Told from Anna and Jack’s point of view, with the anonymous killer’s thoughts sprinkled throughout, His & Hers by Alice Feeney is an exercise in instinct. Are you sure you can trust yours? What about being able to trust your sibling? Parent? Best friend? Husband?

Everyone wants to tell their story in the way that presents them in the best light. They want to justify every action they’ve made and, in the case of this book especially, need to know someone understands. What they’re doing is out of self preservation, to save someone else, to make right wrongs, to get revenge. And, after they tell you their motives, can you blame them?

But what echoes through the end of His & Hers isn’t even as clear cut as deciding what happened was justified. You have to decide for yourself if you’re finally hearing the truth.

Thank you NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to listen to this creepy read.
It was twisty, heart thumping, edge of my seat read that I couldn't stop listening too. I must say I did have a few eye roll moments. One being the voice over, but after a few minutes of hearing it I fell in love with it. It totally added to the dark vibes this book brings. I honestly don't think I would have enjoyed this book as much as I did reading the actual book. Listening to it is the way to go.

How do I even begin with this book? OMG talk about a plot twist. This is a must read book. I loved every moment of it. If you love thrillers and mysteries make sure you read or listen to this. I received an ARC from Netgalley. They just added audiobooks the other day and this was amazing on audiobook. The Netgalley app is still a little new so I did have some technical difficulties with the app randomly stopping or the audiobook starting from the beginning towards the end. With every new thing there are always some things that need to be tweaked a bit. I listened to this in one day. ❤

Many thanks to NetGalley, Flatiron Books, and Alice Feeney for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I listened to the audio version of this book and I honestly could not stop listening! This was my first Alice Feeney novel and she has officially gained a new fan. I really enjoyed this thrilling story that is full of multiple plot twists. This book had me theorizing about the suspects and just when I thought I had the plot figured out, she threw in a curve ball. Twist after twist! The addition of the third narrator in between the perspectives of Him and Her really added to the creepiness of the story, especially if you listen to it on audio. The crime scene content was just graphic enough to inject a little shock but nothing over the top. I highly recommend this novel to those who are looking for a psychological thriller this summer!

Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to listen on NetGalley but I am so confused by the chapters being out of order that I am DNFing at 39%.

You won’t be able to stop reading this one, clear your day and your night! This author is a master of psychological fiction, I just wish that she hadn’t chosen to include animal cruelty in her last book as well as this one.

I received an ARC of this novel from the publisher through Netgalley
His & Hers is set to publish July 28, 2020
