LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEED this book! Absolutely FANTASTIC on audio! The narrators were excellent and I loved flipping between the perspectives. The plot twist at the end was absolutely brilliant. I’ve already purchased myself a physical copy because I know I couldn’t stand to not have this one in my collection!

I am a huge fan of Alice Feeney and this one did not disappoint. I enjoyed the narrator as well. This thriller sucked me in right away and held my attention until the very end.

I LOVED this book. I very seldom listen to audiobooks. I typically like reading on my iPad. This was a real treat! I really enjoyed the narrator and loved the story. This was a definite 5 star book for me...whether I read it or listened to it.

Thank you to the editor, Alice Feeney, and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this audiobook for my honest review.

I started this book as an audio but then transitioned into reading the physical book. There was nothing wrong with the audiobook. Quite the opposite actually. In fact, I was so into it that I couldn’t wait to finish it.

I thought the book was so good! The twist was amazing. Just when I thought I knew how it was going to end, something happens and I’m second guessing myself. I love books like that!

This has been one of the best books I have read in a while! 5 stars! I love this author. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Like the description says, I was left guessing until the very end. I don’t recommend starting this before you go to bed because you will want to stay up to finish it!

Very few books have stuck with me like this one. The suspense was palpable and kept me on the edge of my seat, I found myself not being about to stop listening

My first Alice Feeney and it did not disappoint! The premise initially felt very formulaic but the further the story went, the most creepy and unknown it became. The chemistry between Anna and Jack is fantastic and I loved the idea of not knowing who is telling the truth- unreliable narrators are the best! I listened to the audio and the third voice is incredibly creepy throughout the entire book. Definitely check this one out and I will be reading more Alice Feeney in the future!

This book is a wild ride. I had a hard time following the audio at first. The mystery killer's voice is distorted, and it can be very hard to listen to if you're not listening extremely carefully. Loved "His" voice. "Hers" was a bit whiny.

This book was fantastic! It kept me guessing until the very end. I love multiple perspectives and I look for them when choosing which books to read. I wasn't quite sure who to believe throughout the story as both narrators were somewhat unreliable.
I went into this book blind and I am glad that I did. This is definitely going on my must-read recommendations for 2021. Alice Feeney is superb!

Synopsis:
Anna Andrews is a tv newscaster with the BBC. She grew up in Blackdown, a small village outside of London, and has worked hard climbing the corporate ladder. When she goes back to Blackdown to cover a murder, she discovers that the victim is one of her friends from when she was a teenager.

DCI Jack Harper is Anna’s ex-husband and moved back to Blackdown from London when they separated. He is working the murder but soon realizes that it appears that someone is setting him up as the killer. Soon more of Anna’s friends from the past begin showing up dead.

There are so many lies and so many secrets and we find out the truth through alternating points of view from Anna and Jack.

My Thoughts:

This is the first Alice Feeney book I have read and I am impressed. The writing style was easy to read and the story engaging. I have been reducing the number of thrillers I read simply because so many are cookie cutter and I can guess the killer 25% of the way into the story. This book was certainly different and it kept me guessing until the last four pages as to the killer’s identity. I will definitely be checking out more of this author’s work. I listened to this on audiobook, the narrators being Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine and they were excellent.

Thank you to Macmillan Audio and Netgalley for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I would rate this 3.75 out of 5 stars.

This was an enjoyable thriller that really kept me on my toes. The story felt almost like a slasher film in its story telling and as a huge lover of slasher films, I had a great time reading it.

The story had a great atmosphere and was not overly predictable which is always a good thing with a thriller.

Overall, I highly enjoyed this and recommend checking it out.

Wow! I was hooked through this whole book, but that ending. Talk about a twist! I’m sure this would be a phenomenal read, but I absolutely loved listening to it on audio!

**Huge thank you to netgalley for the audio copy of His & Hers!

Thank you to the publisher for providing an audio galley of His & Hers in exchange for an honest review.

If anyone has ever had doubts about hearing an audio book, this story will make you a believer in them. The voice actors build up the story even more to the point of borderline creepy towards horror with it's suspense and tension.

With the three points of view, the story keeps you guessing up until the twist at the end. Hearing it as an audiobook made it feel as though you're part of a movie, seeing it unfold in front of you.

The less you know about the synopsis of this thriller creates the best impact which makes the payoff at the end better. This won't disappoint.

The plot is not perfect, you will have those moments that you need to give the benefit of doubt because of so many coincidences, but by the end, the payoff is worth it.

This was brilliant. My first thriller audio book & I was hooked. Listened to it all over two days as I just needed to find out what was going to happen. Great characters and great story.

His and Hers is the textbook example of what not to do in a thriller. Withholding an unseeingly amount of knowledge from the reader and including a finale twist that literally make almost no sense.

This would be a fun thriller for those out there who haven't read many thrillers or those drawn to domestic thrillers. I enjoyed the multiple narrators that jumped between him, her, and the killer. Every other chapter I was switching up who I thought the killer was, which is part of my enjoyment for a good thriller. The way this all wrapped up made sense but I think the "reasoning" behind everything was a lot and unnecessary. There are many, MANY trigger warnings for this book so I would do research before jumping right into this one if certain things bother you. Listed below are some of the trigger warnings from the book (probably not all because as I said there are a lot).

TW: Drug use, sexual assault, rape, animal abuse/death, self harm, attempted suicide, bullying, cancer, alcohol use/abuse, grooming, murder/death

This Audio narration for this book was FANTASTIC. Absolutely stunning I was blown away by the atmosphere this audiobook was able to create. I would suggest the audiobook over the physical copy 100 times over.

This did a great job of creating a mystery, teasing out the facts and the misdirection, and keeping me guessing. I definitely thought I had the twist figured out a few times only to find out I had, again, been duped. I think this author was able to successfully combine all the important elements that thriller readers love and was able to combine this with amazing narration for a phenomenal finish.

I do wish there had been a trigger warning in the beginning. While I understand that this was a thriller, the sexual assault, grooming, abusive relationships, and animal abuse were a lot to take in together in one book. Because of this, it did lose a star for me, but overall four strong stars!

His & Hers was a psychological thriller with a murder mystery but I really didn't guess what was happening until the end, despite how much I tried! That doesn't happen often, so that was definitely a big reason for why I enjoyed this book so much. There's at least one unreliable narrator plus a "voice changed" narrator for the killer on the audiobook (which I'm guessing is just an unknown narrator in print) so you can't tell who it is at all, but it was an interesting execution to keep the mystery narrator a mystery!

The book definitely kept me guessing and one thing that I picked up on (which I almost never do during a first read) were all the little things that the author included to cast suspicion on another character. I appreciated little things like that for the paranoia to keep growing throughout the whole book and it felt rewarding to catch those clues, whether they were real or just to throw off readers!

It’s hard to read about any “terrible” characters and sometimes it was a bit much, but I mostly took it as a story and went along for the ride, appreciating the little clues that were dropped along the way!

Unfortunately this audiobook would not play on my Netgalley Shelf after repeatedly several attempts. Luckily I was also given the print version so I can say that the book is fantastic! I

I enjoyed the story, but would have enjoyed it so much more if the audio were of better quality. I have no idea how the finished product is compared to this one, so I don't know if it's worth purchasing. The audio was grainy and very unenjoyable to listen to.
