Well, it's 1:00 am and I'm still awake! I had to stay up listening to this audio of His & Hers so I could find out how It ended. It is fantastic! The story is gripping, told from two different points of view and goes back and forth in time. That can sometimes be hard to follow but not in this book. The narrator's make the story even better. I love audio books because I can listen and do other things. The story follows Anna Andrews, a television journalist and Jack, a detective both covering a stream of murders in a small town Anna grew up in. They have roles and secrets beyond professional. It's a fast paced story that keeps you guessing and will surprise you at the end. Thanks @netgalley for the Advanced copy. @alicefeeney #his&hers @flatironbooks @McMillanaudio Bravo!

There are three sides of stories: His, hers and truth! Anna Andrews, a TV presenter of the lunchtime news and Jack Harper, a “DCI” find themselves tangled with brutal murders of women who shared a common past, They were friends, and went to the same high school, and they’re now living different lives in Blackwood. A friendship bracelet positioned with their corpses.
What is the connection between these two people and the victims?
This is one psychological thriller I wont forget, I loved it so much I finished it in two days., it kept me guessing right till the very end. I have never read any of Alice Feeney previous novels so didn’t know what to expect. I must admit it was a brilliantly written roller coaster ride and will be reading her other novels. Also, I received this novel in the audiobook format. so if you enjoy audiobooks, I cannot recommend that format for this book highly enough! The narrators are fantastic, including a mysterious third voice that becomes revealed toward the very end.
This book is a definite 5 star rating for me.
Thank you NetGalley and Alice Feeney for this advanced audiobook copy In return for an honest review.

Written in dual POV between journalist Anna Andrews and police officer Jack Harper, this book keeps the reader guessing throughout.

I love reading thrillers and this book was so satisfying. It drops hints throughout about who the killer is and what their motives are but it wasn't until almost at the end of the story where I knew whodunnit and even then it wasn't until the very last chapter where all is revealed that I got answers to all of the questions that I had been asking

I listened to the audiobook of this book and the narrators did a truly spectacular job and would recommend listening if you can.

His & Hers by Alice Feeney is an exceptional psychologist thriller that has the reader guessing who the killer is the entire time. The story is told from different points of views (including that of the killer) and listening to the audiobook made it that much more interesting. The dark and twisted plot is unbelievable and had me thinking of the story long after I finished the book. As the victim count increases, the disturbing tales of their high school days intensifies. Characters are well developed and you will love some and despise others. Highly recommend!

The female's voice and style of narration in the audiobook is what kept me listening and listening. Basically, the female narration was brilliant and it brought the story to life.
The story goes by the title with the chapters as "him" and "her", the male's voice was a little muffled and maybe it was a audiobook glitch, the "him" chapters were not very clear to listen and understand.
Now about the story, our protagonist are Anna Andrews and her arcane husband. We tour on a life of a journalist. This was my first netgalley audiobook experience and I think I would like to give it another try to understand its beauty better.

Holy Wow!

I've never heard of or read any books by Alice Feeney before but the premise of this book sounded interesting to me so I decided I wanted to give it a try. It's about a journalist, Anna, who goes back to her hometown to report about a murder. And Detective Jack who is also trying to uncover the truth while he's embroiled in it himself.

This is a fast paced novel where the chapters alternate between him and her and the whole time you're trying to figure out what's going on and who did it. I am not usually a fan of twists or weird ways the author tries to manipulate the plot in books like these to make it hard to guess.

But in this case, Feeney managed to keep me interested and surprised without making me frustrated. She does an absolutely excellent job of keeping the reader on his/her toes. If you like fast-paced mysteries, you will love this one.

If audiobooks are your genre, this one is narrated by two actors: Richard Armitage & Stephanie Racine, which makes the audio quality excellent.

With gratitude to netgalley and Macmillan Audio for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I tried to listen to this audiobook and it didn't work. The audio skipped chapters and was out of order. When I went to pause it, all of a sudden, it reverted back and read in a deep, slow voice. The short amount (4%) that I did listen to on audio was good in terms of the voices. I enjoyed the audio... until I couldn't listen to it any more. However, I did have an e-copy, so the rest of my review is based on reading the book.
..
The story starts with one body being found in the woods. Anna, a newscaster and Jack, a detective are there, covering the case/story. However, they both know the victim.... and then the victim turns into victims. Who is the killer? There is a clear connection between the victims. Who's next?

The book alternates between Anna and Jack, both unreliable narrators. They each have their side of the story... and then there is the truth. Between each twist and turn, there are red herrings leading you one way. I honestly thought I had it figured out twice before getting to the twisty end. By the end, however, I'm still trying to piece it together. I think it was all the twists that got it confusing by the end.

I wanted to find out what happened and I flew through the pages to get there. A few less twists and a more cohesive coming together, and it would have been 5 stars.

I listened to the audiobook (thank you netgalley) and let me tell you it was fantastic. For me the narrators are the ones who make me decide if I’m going to listen to a book or read it. Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine did an amazing job narrating the story. And that third person narrator … omg so freaking good!

The story is great, with many plot twists that keep you guessing. Just when you think that you have guessed who the killer is nope Feeney throws in another twist that you didn’t see coming. Definitely a must add to your list!

**I highly recommend listening to the audiobook for this book**

Wow! This book was a wild ride and I loved every minute of it! The audio book scared me at first with the super-creepy killer's voice, but I was soon enthralled and couldn't stop listening. It was a great murder mystery told from the point of view of a newsreader and her ex-husband, who is a detective on the case, as well as occasional chapters narrated by the voice-altered killer. I had suspects in mind right away and changed my mind often, almost everyone in the book was suspicious in some way. It was surprising right up until the last chapter, and tied up all the loose ends in a way I could not have seen coming. I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a good mystery..

Triggers: sexual assault, grooming, cat abuse.

3.5 stars, I think?

His & Hers follows a divorced couple, Jack and Anna (a detective and a journalist), as women they both know in different ways are being murdered. We slowly figure out why these murders are happening but we just don't know who's behind it all. We also get the killer's perspective even though their voice is revealed only at the end. I enjoyed what the audiobook did there. However I have to say, while the narrative being separated between his and hers was quite interesting, it left me a bit confused at times.

I just finished listening to this audiobook and I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about it, especially with that ending. This is the first book I've read from this author so I did not know what to expect going into it and so I ended up listening to a murder mystery with unlikable characters that still had me hooked to find out the truth. It was a little twisted, crazy and weird and I understand why some readers might find the ending unbelievable. It's not something I've ever read before at least. As for the characters, I didn't like any of them really. I felt really bad for Katherine and what she went through growing up but I hated the other girls (Rachel & Zoey especially). I also hated the part about animals being mistreated.

Overall, this book intrigued me and left me perplexed. The last quarter of this book had me on edge.

(Thank you for letting me listen and review an ARC via Netgalley!)

This book kept me guessing (and second guessing myself) until the very end. Alternating perspectives and so many twists and turns made this a hard-to-put-down thriller. I finished it within one day!

Wow, just WOW! One of the best audiobooks I’ve ever listened to. The narrators did a superb job of drawing the listener in and keeping them engaged. It didn’t feel as if they were merely reading a book, but rather you were living the story along with these characters.

This book is what other psychological thrillers books strive to be. It has so many twists and turns, you think you have it figured out, but nope, you never see the next thing coming (which happens a few times in the story). I didn’t want this book to end!

If you’ve never listed to and audiobook before and you enjoy mystery/suspense, I highly recommend you start with this one.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Anna must go back to her dreaded hometown to do a news report on a murder. It turns out that the victim is a childhood friend. As the story unfolds she discovers that this murder hits closer to her than she expected. Meanwhile a local detective becomes a suspect because of his own connection to the victim. The two of them must use what they know from the past and present to get to the bottom of it.

I was really thrown around trying to guess the big reveal. Mind blown! I highly recommend checking this one out. It was my first from this author but I already own her first book so I will for sure be reading it sooner than planned.

This is a fast moving, intriguing, well-written who-done-it. It has all the ingredients to get my attention: English, alternating voices, unreliable narrator, fully-fleshed out characters. Highly recommend and will buy when it comes out. ( That said, I had to abandon the audiobook because the software is too glitchy, with stop-starts at random intervals, skipping of large sections, etc. I know we aren't supposed to discuss tech in the review but I have a feeling the glitchy tech might affect people's ability to fairly judge a book, and also the reason why I didn't finish this (and will wait for the book) is because the tech would not co-operate with me and I kept having to go back and make sure it hadn't jumped a section, so got confusing.)

This is the first audiobook I’ve listened too. His and Hers. The narratives were wonderful. The story kept me on the edge of my seat. Lots of twists and turns.

Haven't listened to an audio book for a while, so thank you to NetGalley for this copy!

I thought the narrators were great, even though the murderer's voice through a voice disguiser was very creepy!!

A book about lies, revenge, more lies and so many twisty turns. It starts with Anna who was a BBC news presenter and is sent back literally where she started in the village that she grew up in to report on the murder of a girl she knew in school. The detective also happened to be her ex husband who also knew the victim!

I honestly had no idea who had dunnit! Such a clever writer, leading us up many paths throughout.

The issue with getting ARCs is that while you get the book earlier (yay!), you also can't talk to anyone about it when you finish it and I have a lot of feelings about this book and I need to talk about them.

I wasn't sure Feeney would ever match the brilliance of her debut, "Sometimes I Lie" but 'His & Her' has shattered that very high bar. Like Feeney's previous books you have some flashbacks to the past that leave you extra off-kilter as to what may or may not be going on but with 'His & Her' we also have multiple viewpoints driving you through the story and I literally could not turn the book off. The initial opening with the killer's voice disguised through me a bit, but it ended up really adding to the narrative since you couldn't glean the gender from those excerpts. Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine gave brilliant performances with both voices fitting both the main character they were narrating and the side characters in conversation.

I highly recommend Feeney to thriller readers on a regular basis, and 'His & Her' just cements her as a new powerhouse in the genre. I will say don't pick up the book or press play unless you're ready to devote time to it because you won't be able to put it down.

As someone who loves reading Mystery/Thrillers, this was a great new experience for me! This was the first audiobook of the genre that I heard and it gave the story so much intrigue and gravitas!

This is the second Alice Feeney book I've read, and I really enjoyed it. The story is filled with twists and turns that keep you on your toes and wanting to know more. The writing and narration were great and I really was left guessing "whodunnit" till the end.

"Clothes don’t make the woman but they can help disguise the cloth she is made from."
"We all hide behind the version of ourselves we let the rest of the world see."

A highly twisty and compelling thriller/mystery told from 3 perspectives (voices). This is most engaging in audiobook format as the characters are read by different people. It takes a bit to catch how the device of moving in time is used, but it does an effective job and developing both the plot and the characters. Riddled throughout the book are a lot of obvious diversionary tactics, planted to mislead or confusion. This becomes a bit overused toward the finale as the author builds suspense through suspicions. Overall it was gripping and entertaining, allowing my mind to detach from reality.

Thanks to #netgalley for the audiobook!
