Could not finish. Even the mellifluous voice of Olivia Coleman did not pull me in. What a lot of whining.

I enjoyed this book (which is superbly narrated I might add) but I didn't love it. The plot was clever, moving and funny, however there were too many political references for my liking.
I read/listen for escapism not to be reminded of the things taking place around me.

A well done time traveler story. It was not exactly what I was expecting. I liked it but did not love it.

The narration is the star on this one- the content was okay, I didn’t think it to be overly original, as there have recently been other books reflecting on loss, opportunities and choice in a similar manner but I felt like Olivia Coleman killed it and I would love to hear her read everything for me going into the future. I would read another story by this author but this one was not overly memorable for me unfortunately.

This was not what I expected after reading the blurb. I’ve listened to this book and the narrator was great a lil bit hard to keep up with the thick accent at first but you get used to it. I totally hated the first part Of the book and found it too long and sadly boring. Things started to get better at the second part but it was a bit of a mess. Too many topics discussed and it didn’t have anything to do with the book IMO. Lastly the third part was like taken out of an action movie and I was suddenly confused by everything that was happening. Its an okay book. Something was missing for my taste. The blurb sounded kind o romance but honestly don’t know what genre could it be classified. Also I had high hopes for the time travel topic and it wasn’t that big of a deal. The epilogue just confused me even more at last. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the audiobook

About the story:

The book is divided into three parts.

The first is Kate suffering because her husband Luke died of cancer.
The second is Kate who sleeps and wakes up at the age of 18, in the day she meets Luke, and she tries to make him fall in love with her again and let him know that he has cancer and needs to go to the doctor. But getting him to fall in love again is harder than it looks, Kate may be 18 again, but she has a 40-year-old mind and she doesn't have much patience for a teenager.
The third is Kate waking up from the dream and having to deal with the loss of her husband and a difficult situation at work. This part has a lot of action that doesn't match the pace of the story and yet the explanation for time travel was fast and confusing.

About the audio book

First i would like to say it was my first time listening to a book, so for me was not a good experienced. i could not concentrated and focus in the story.
I have enjoyed the experience of hearing the emotions of the characters, i think this bring us closer to the characters because we can feel them, they see more real to me.
I did not like the fact that was only one narrator, the was doing the voices of all characters and pretend to be male. I would like more the story if it has more than one person making the voices.

This was an easy read, and a great audiobook. I enjoyed the narrator and the pace of this one.

This was a great women's romance book. I loved the characters and it was written very well. The narrator was also fantastic! I definitely recommend this one.

This was an entertaining novel, but not quite what I was expecting. From the blurb it sounded like a second chance-ish romance, but that didn't end up being the case. I think it actually falls more into the women's fiction/romantic suspense category. The story is broken into 3 parts, but each sort of felt disjointed from the others. Some parts of the novel were surprisingly very funny (lots of profanity sprinkled throughout) and there was a lot more action and suspense than I was expecting. The pacing was slow at times and then everything seemed to speed up in part 3. I'm still not entirely sure how to feel about the ending, even after suspending disbelief, but overall I found the book entertaining and enjoyable.

The narration was a true highlight and Olivia Colman's performance was wonderful. She had fantastic comedic timing and gave each character (male and female) their own unique voice. I had no trouble differentiating between characters and enjoyed all of her different accents. I look forward to listening to her other titles in the future.

Come Again is a beautiful story about self discovery and second chances.
The story is divided in three parts, it starts with Kate grieving, then we are transported to the past, and finally come back to the present.
I had so much fun reading the story but somehow the last part felt like it was another story completely and some things didn’t make sense.
Overall I enjoyed this book, it was funny, original and left me with a beautiful message.

I liked the idea of this story, and found it hilarious in places, however, there was so many problems with the new app, it spoilt the whole experience. Tracks jumping, repeating, pausing constantly. It was frustrating and took all focus from the audiobook. A shame really. I think it could be a good book.

It breaks my heart to rate this book so low.

I love Robert Webb. I love him as an actor, and as a person. I love what he stands for (feminist- hello!). But...oy...this book was not very good.

I don't typically read books in this genre, but I wanted to support Robert, so I decided to read it.

I think the main problem is that this book tries to do too much and ends up being so disjointed. Is it a romance novel? Time travel novel? Spy novel? Russian espionage novel?

It tries to do all of the above, but doesn't do it particularly well...

I was enjoying it up until part 3. Once part 3 hit, I honestly don't even know what to say about it.

I listened to the audio-book of this and I will say, that Olivia Coleman gives this book life. She does a fantastic job and I want her to read all of my books forever and ever.

I'm so sorry for not liking this more. It guts me and I hope Robert doesn't see this (I LOVE YOU!).

When I read the description and saw that it was similar to David Nicholls I had to give it a try

The narrator works wonderfully with the accent and speech. Great listen.

It was definitely a cute story. I got a little notional a few times, but overall a really good story. The pacing was good and I was able to keep track of the flashbacks and all of the different moving pieces. However if you don’t pay attention you can get lost briefly.

The only thing I wasn’t really sure about was the last part. It was a great story and had so much potential, but the ending took a turn that I’m still deciding on.

I wasn’t sold on the story of this one at first, but i really connected with the desperation of kate. all she wanted was a little more time with her partner, and in a strange way, she gets just that. she goes in with a specific plan, but, not everything turns out the way we plan, right? she gets her second chance, and not everything happens exactly how she thought it was going to. Oh and then it sneakily turns into an action movie at the end. Really keeps you on your toes.
A special section of this had me tearing up was the extra time she got with her dad. It was heartwarming.
I have to admit, the fact that Olivia Coleman was the narrator of this one sold me on it. she could read a cereal box and i would listen.

I love books that have an element of time travel and this did not disappoint. Well written and developed characters made this an enjoyable book to listen to.

Come Again starts out by introducing the reader to Kate. She's deep in a pit of grief after losing the love of her life suddenly nine months before. Throughout the story, we learn more about Kate and her husband, Luke's history. Kate feels guilty for not picking up on the symptoms that she believes could have saved Luke's life. She's tortured by "what ifs" and "if onlys." All of this leads her to adopt destructive behavior where she drinks too much, eats too little, abandons her friendships and is less concerned with her job. She feels as if she has nothing left to live for.

In the midst of giving up on life, Kate finds herself back in the past. She's back to the start of school when she first met Luke. It's her chance to make a difference. But how can she make him believe her? Has she really gone back in time or is it a dream? If she changes things for Luke, what else will change?

I thought this was a clever premise for a book and I enjoyed it quite a bit. There were times that Kate's grief was so palpable that if was difficult for me to read. The author definitely knew how to make you feel that pain and hopelessness and gave it authenticity. There were a few things towards the end of the book that I wasn't really into. There's a whole showdown with some "bad guys" that was loosely attached to the storyline in the beginning. I could have done without this and felt that it was somewhat of a distraction. I understand what the author was trying to do, this mechanism just didn't work for me. However, other than that, I really liked the book.

I listened to the audiobook version of Come Again. I really enjoyed it since it is a British book, I found it more authentic to have the accents in the narration. Personally, for me, the narration was perfect for the storyline and I highly recommend it.

I had such high expectations for this book. The description pulled me in and made me excited about this book. Unfortunately, the book didn’t give me what I was looking for. Part one was done in such a great way. It made me excited for the rest of the book but halfway through part two, I was no longer happy with the book. It became a little boring. Then part three happened and I was so angry. After waking up from he former life with her husband I expected there to be either so type of change (recognition that the time travel happened) or an explanation on dealing with grief. This book had so much potential.

Come Again is a cute book. The book starts with Kate's husband, Luke dying. She then wakes up the day she first met Luke. She tries to save him from dying. Can Kate save Luke? Can Kate and Luke fall in love twice even though they are both different people the second time around?

Fans of The Two Lives of Lydia Bird will probably like Come Again.

Olivia Coleman did a good job narrating and I loved the British accent. Her voice worked well with the story.
