Another sweet story by Bramley. Frank and Ethel form a friendship across a major age gap. A dog named Scamp is the glue that binds them together. Not to be missed.

What a treat this short story from Cathy Bramley is! I was immediately on board when I saw that this one featured a little dog called Scamp who bought together an unlikely friendship between two neighbours. This is a taster for Cathy's next novel and I will we eager to find out how the story develops further. Dogs have a wonderful way of rescuing people without them even knowing. I hope to hear much more from Fearne in the next ebook.

A short story by one of my favourite authors of this genre.

Fearne is a young woman who has been through trauma and this has caused her to withdraw from the world. She lives next door to Ethel who is very elderly and has a lovely dog called Scamp, whom Fearne takes for walks. I like the relationship that these two women have with each other, even though they are separated by age and outlook.

This is really a story to whet the reading appetite for the author's new book and I have to say that after reading this lead-in, I do want to read the book, so job done!

5 stars from me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Orion.

What a treat to find this short story written by one of my favourite authors. The story tells of a couple of lonely neighbours, who find support in an unlikely friendship, with a cute little four pawed friend thrown in for food measure. It’s warm, real and emotive, like a cup of hot cocoa on a cold winter’s day, and leaves you wondering what comes next... luckily it looks like we might just find out 😁 Thanks Cathy for a warm hug and a little taster of something rather special to come.

Rescue Me is a gorgeously sweet prequel to what I'm expecting will be a fabulous new series of ebooks.
This was full of Cathy Bramley's usual sparkle with a touch of the bittersweet.
It definitely left me wanting more and to discover what adventures Fearne's future life holds.

Loved it!! Can't wait to read more about Fearne and Ethel and of course Scamp. It's a very short story that gives a small glance of Ethel and Fearne's lives. Sounds like Ethel and her husband lived a wonderful life, full of adventure. I'm guessing Fearne will eventually go on her own adventures with her new partner Scamp.

Definitely recommend it. Looking forward to reading the full story and finding out what Fearne and Scamp will do. Loved the cover.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Orion Publishing Group through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
