This urban fantasy has a unique kind of darkish feel over it that I enjoyed immensely. This book is full of werewolves, vampires and other edanes/creatures. Great peace of world building.

I did not read the first book in the series and that didn’t bother me while reading this book. You can read it as a stand alone.
Danika Karson is one of those types who don’t know when to shut up. “But” is her favorite word and I love how Young set up this stubborn character in a way you’ll love her and sometimes want her to just zip it.
In this book she is put in some sort of diplomatic role that doesn’t necessarily suit her. That makes her character and her challenges real.

Danika’s girlfriend Rayne is a vampire. They work as special agents for the same SPEAR team. Their relationship is troubled and although they try, they don’t talk it through. Danika seems to be scared of Rayne and the manias she can experience as a vampire. These troubles blend with a great action adventure storyline.

When a fan of paranormal and/or (urban) fantasy, give this one a try.
Ow, and as a last note: I want a chittarik as a pet too.

Rayne and Danica are the heros of this saga. Part 2 of a series that can be read as a standalone. This story focuses on werewolves, a city trying time achieve human and edane unity, and romance. This was a good read, of you missed part one you might be compelled to purchase it so that you will be caught up and ready for part three.

When I came across Moon Fever by Ileandra Young I was intrigued by the synopsis of the book, as a long-time fan of urban fantasy and paranormal romance it seemed right up my alley but Moon Fever gives us something that we don't often find in these types of works, Danika, a strong independent woman of color involved in a lesbian relationship with her teammate Rayne (who also happens to be a vampire). Both are agents in an organization called SPEAR (Supernatural Prohibition, Extermination, and Arrest Regiment) and are part of a special ops team within the organization tasked with containing a new pack of werewolves that have abruptly moved into the territory spreading chaos and brutality.

What I didn't realize until several chapters in, was that this book is a sequel to the book Both Ways, which I have not read and while I think that the novel worked fine as a standalone, I could see how reading the first book would give the reader more understanding to some of the relationships between the characters, especially as events of the novel began to unfold.

This was a fun read and the characters were well-developed. The infrastructure of not only the SPEAR organization but the different supernatural groups that inhabit this world was fascinating. I particularly enjoyed learning about the different wolf packs and their structure and abilities. I enjoyed Moon Fever and plan on going back and reading the first book in the series.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for providing me with a free ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review. Moon Fever will be available for purchase on August 11th, 2020. You can find this review on Goodreads, Instagram, Amazon and other major retailers.

I'm a big fan of Ileandra Young. I have read all of her full length books and was looking forward to this one. This book felt like it was on another level though, i felt more connected to the characters and their chemistry. I enjoyed the pace while reading it. The reading itself was really fun. This is by the way the sequel to Both Ways. I definitely looking forward to the book 3 of this series.

I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.

Danika has just been promoted and her job has her already diving into action when a new werewolves pack is becoming increasingly dangerous not only to human but also to the other werewolves packs.

Danika realize she’ll need more help and ask her girlfriend Rayne for help but she has others things on her mind she worries she won’t be able control herself when the full moon arises as Danika tries to save them all she also deals with trying to get her relationship back with her mother who hasn’t forgiven her for turning her sister Pippa even though she knew it’s the only way at time for her to live.

great supernatural intrigue with good actions the characters was on point the chemistry was there as dialogue was witty and well written.
