I read this book with my children who are 4 and 6 years old and they both enjoyed it as much as I did! My 6 year old and me even took it in turns to read pages. Would recommend!

This is a great book for reluctant or dyslexic readers. With 3 short stories about King Arthur, this was an engaging read chronicling the well-known legend.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bloomsbury for providing me with a free e-book in exchange for an honest review.
These stories are so adorable and entertaining, I love at the beginning it explains to you how to pronounce the names in the book, as well as the ending where it includes questions for the young reader to have discussions about. I loved following along with Arthur on his journeys but sadly my ebook didn’t have the correct illustrations; it had the ones from Hercules. But I’m positive they were as well done as the ones in Hercules. If more get released in this series I’ll definitely be picking them up!

As a primary school teacher, I am always on the lookout for texts that I could share with my classes, or recommend to individual students. This is particularly the case when these texts are retellings or adaptations of classic tales, such as the legend of King Arthur.
Growing up, I always had an interest in Arthurian legend and Camelot, and read a few different adaptations myself. This adaptation not only tells the origin story of Arthur and his ascent to power, but also a couple of other tales that I wasn't familiar with.
The writing is really accessible for children, with a great balance of classic storytelling and adventure. There are some great battle scenes and some vivid descriptions, particularly of the sword in the stone. I can already see this being a great hit with a lot of the children I teach!

I really enjoyed this story - it was well written and easy to follow.

This book is part of the Bloomsbury High Low series which has been introduced to help and encourage those that are struggling and/or reluctant readers and for me I think it would be a big hit!

The stories of King Arthur in this book are action packed and exciting, they are absorbing and dangerous – after all these are the stuff of legend! The images are great - they really illustrate the story well.

It is 4 stars from me for this one, a fun read and love the ways to get involved and the questions and discussion points at the end - highly recommended!!

This is brilliant!

This book is the perfect read for reluctant readers or readers with dyslexia to help them enter the world of King Arthur. The stories are told in a simple way, but they still retain their excitement. I thought the pronunciation guide at the beginning of the book was a really nice touch too. I think it's really important that stories like this are accessible for reluctant and dyslexic readers.
