It's raining in Denton, the river has broken its banks, and the vulnerable citizens of the small town are at the mercy of the rising waters. Detective Josie Quinn and her team have joined the rescue effort, boyfriend Noah Fraley and colleague Mett are working together as are Josie and Grechen.

Rescuing an elderly resident from the porch of her home they watch in horror as her home shifts from its foundations and disappears into the raging torrent. What happens next plunges Josie into a case linked closely to her troubled past and one of the few people she thought always had her back. With the rain refusing to ease and half the town evacuated or flooded finding information isn't straightforward but Josie has never shied away from protecting those who can't do so themselves and is determined to find the answers once again but at what cost to herself?

As fans of this series are accustomed to seeing, Josie's life continues to hurtle along at a breathtaking pace in this new dual timeframe story. The devastation of her home town and the memories stirred up by her current case give more insight into what makes her tick, including some subtle hints as to where her life may go next. The whodunnit side of this book surprised me and it wasn't until the last few chapters that everything came together in a very satisfying way.

I was able to read an advanced copy of this book thanks to NetGalley and the publishers in exchange for an unbiased review and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys this series or fast paced police procedurals. I have purchased all nine books because as a series this is one of the best out there and I have enjoyed every word written so far.

In the ninth book featuring Detective Josie Quinn, life and work for Josie doesn't get any easier. The town of Denton, where she lives and works is flooded. The heavy rain has caused the river to break it's banks. Josie is, literally, thrown in to her next case from the very beginning.

Save Her Soul is thrilling from the start to the end. We learn more about her past as well and Josie finally, after all she's been through, begins to breakdown.. I loved this story, love reading about Josie and her team. Definitely one of my favourites in this genre.

Thanks to NetGalley and the author for the opportunity to read this amazing book.

This is such a fabulous series, I was excited to read this and it didn’t disappoint. Totally couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting. It was full of danger, angst and turmoil and kept me guessing the outcome. It was great, a real page turner that kept me excited to read it right the way through. A bloody brilliant book that deserves 5 stars.

This is book #9 in the Josie Quinn series. It can be read as a standalone book, however I would recommend reading the other books in the series for the backstories of the characters. I’ve read all the other books and I have to admit I love Josie Quinn’s character! I also think this book is definitely the best book of the series so far! Josie is dragged back to her high school years with the discovery of a young woman’s body. The story switches backwards and forwards from Josie’s teenage years to present day and for me, this was captivating! We get to meet Ray Quinn again and whilst he destroyed Josie’s life at the time, I really liked Ray’s character in the first book of the series. Meeting the young Ray and Josie was a brilliant twist in the story and it had me well and truly hooked into, not just this part of the story, but the whole book.

Josie is a great character and the author does a fantastic job of making you love Josie along all her insecurities, past history and current issues that she is trying to work her way through. As we’re shown throughout the other books of the series, Josie has a lot of past issues which she hasn’t yet dealt with and nowhere is this shown better than in this book!! Having the past being raked over again doesn’t bode well for Josie, but it certainly makes for a fantastic read!! I was captured by the storyline right from the very first page and I couldn’t put the book down until I’d finished it. Josie’s story is complemented perfectly by all the other characters and I found her relationship with Gretchen in this book particularly heart-warming.

This storyline, coupled with the flooding disaster in the town, created great images as I read and the plot was as wild and ravage as the river was! The story twisted and turned making me question what was going on, and I faced so many ‘what the hell’ moments as the action just kept coming!! Happily, I have to say I didn’t guess who was responsible and loved how it all cleverly fell into place! Each book of the series just keeps getting better! Can the author beat this one….I really hope so – roll on book #10!!!

I love books that are in a series and this set of books can be read as stand alone too. Detective Josie Quinn and her team have their hands full in helping rescue people from the floods in their town when they are plunged into solving the latest murder. Lisa Regan throws a lot of red herrings to bring the reader in several different directions and this is what I enjoy about reading. A gripping read that I found hard to leave down. I got this as an arc to review and the opinions expressed are entirely my own views and are completely unbiased.

This is book number 9 in the Detective Josie Quinn series by Lisa Regan and it is just as great as the others! This book starts with Josie and her colleague, Gretchen coming across a body wrapped in a tarp that is found during a flooding event in her town. The strange thing is that the body is wearing the jacket of her late husband. What follows is a twisty story about who killed her and where her mother has been the last 16 years.

This is another great read from Lisa Regan. I love this series so much, and cannot wait until another book comes out. I hope this series continues for a long time as I love the dynamic between Josie and her co-workers and all the other characters in her life. These books are really great and I recommend starting from the beginning and reading them in order to get the full effect.

Save Her Soul is another action packed installment in Detective Josie Quinn's world. In this newest murder mystery, Josie's hometown is under seige from relentless flooding. While on a rescue mission, Josie makes a rescue to watch a house wash away and a body with it. Josie's high school nemesis and bully has been dead for years, wrapped in a tarp and in Josie's dead ex's letterman jacket. Now Josie will risk life and limb to find out the truth behind the death and if her life with Ray was a lie. Years of trauma are brought to the surface as Josie deals with major stess and life changes for an emotional Josie that will pull at the heart strings. A page turner of a story that doesn't have a stopping point and ends way too soon. Josie's stories will always keep me coming back for more. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

Another great entry in the Josie Quinn series by Lisa Regan. There has been massive flooding in Josie's town of Denton, and when a house is ripped from it's foundation, a body is released into the water. Putting the rescue team she's been riding with at risk, Josie knows she can't let this potential victim disappear and she jumps in to pull it to safety, while almost being swept away in the process. But as usual, her gut instinct is right and the body is found to be that of an old high school classmate and personal bully of Josie's, Beverly Urban. Not only that, but she is wearing the jacket of Josie's ex-husband and childhood sweetheart, Ray.

Josie is determined to treat her like any other victim and put her personal feelings aside, but it becomes a constant struggle throughout the case. She and her team discover that both Beverly and her mother, Vera, haven't been seen in 15 years. Is Beverly's mother guilty or will another victim be discovered? And how do a group of upper class wives that used to socialize with Vera at her salon figure into this? The well to do families have been lambasted for diverting the town's emergency supplies, but are they guilty of something even more sinister?

Poor Josie never seems to get a break, as in the midst of this investigation her grandmother, Lisette, divulges a life changing blow that threatens to break down all of Josie's defenses. It will take all of her strength to push through the emotional havoc and find justice for Beverly. Fellow readers know that if anyone can overcome obstacles like these, it is Josie. Flooding may be destroying the town, but it's not the only danger threatening their community. But which will cause more the greater destruction?

I was fortunate to get an early copy of Save Her Soul via Netgalley. A huge thanks to them and to Bookouture for the early read!

Save Her Soul is the 9th Detective Josie Quinn book. When flooding takes over the town of Denton, PA, a body washes up from underneath a home. Josie immediately recognizes the jacket on the body of a former high school classmate, Beverly. The jacket belonged to her late husband, Ray Quinn. Josie must face her past and the fear that perhaps Ray wasn't as faithful to her from the start, all while trying to track down the killer. Just when Josie thinks that she is on the right track, the most vital witness she has is shot and dies in her arms.

I am a huge fan of Josie Quinn and this book was amazing. Lisa Regan does an excellent job of keeping me wanting more, with the twists and turns. In this book, I felt like Josie was quite a bit unhinged and I liked that. I felt the things that she was going through deep in my own soul, and that is something important to me-- that I am truly able to connect with the protagonist. There was a part mid-book where my heart was racing.

The subplot was interesting, but I had that figured out from the beginning. I look forward to see where it leads in the next book!

The killer is hidden well in this book. Every time that I thought I knew who it was, it wasn't them. Even when I did figure it out, I was questioning myself until the big reveal.

My only complaint is that I would have loved to see more of Noah Fraley. The book is more focused on Josie and Gretchen, which was totally fine, I just adore Noah's character.

10/10 would recommend this book. I think it is my favorite after book #3.

I know that I've said this before, but there is no denying that the Detective Josie Quinn series is one of my favorite detective thriller series and I'm always looking forward to a new installment. I've been an instant fan ever since I read the first book back in 2018... It's been an intense ride so far for Josie Quinn, and it tooks like trouble keeps finding her in the small town of Denton where she lives and works. Not that I'm complaining, as it means more Josie Quinn adventures to read about! Save Her Soul is already book number nine of the series, and without doubt another excellent ride. This series just doesn't stop delivering!

One thing that keeps standing out for me with the books of this series is just how addictive each book is. I have learned my lesson and always clear my schedule beforehand, because once I start reading the first chapter I just know I won't be able to stop reading until I reach that final page. A lightning fast pace and an abundance of action and plot twists will keep you on the edge of your seat and time will fly as you keep turning those pages. Save Her Soul is no exception, and while slightly less exhilarating than some of the previous books, it is still a highly engaging ride. Josie seems to be getting a little breather in this book, although there will be personal developments affecting her and hints at the future will leave you wanting for the next book.

Technically you can read Save Her Soul as a stand-alone, as a little background information is provided to refresh memories, but you will be missing out on the dynamics between the characters if you don’t read the previous books. And if you enjoy thrilling and intense detective stories, you will be missing out on hours of entertainment in the first place! In book number nine we get to meet up with our favorite main characters again, and I have loved seeing them develop over time. It was interesting to see them react to the disaster (flood) situation in Denton and later try to unravel the secrets and history around the new case they have to investigate.

I have to admit that Save Her Soul might not have been my absolute favorite of the series, but it was still a more than solid read. This story felt slightly less intense and of course the case affects Josie in a less personal way than some of the previous ones... But there is still plenty of action, danger and suspense to devour. The case is another intriguing one, and the whole flood situation gave the plot that ominous feel. The story ends with a bang as well, and I will most definitely be looking forward to whatever Josie Quinn and the others will encounter next. Save Her Soul is yet another excellent sequel with a high entertainment value that will be perfect for anyone who likes a fast and intense detective thriller read.

Detective Josie Quinn is back in this new book by Lisa Regan. Josie's life is awash with complications, just as her town is awash in flood waters. She and her team are busy with rescuing people stranded by the rising water and helping to evacuate areas where the flood is heading next. While making a particularly dangerous rescue, a house is washed loose from its foundation, and a tarp covered object emerges; Convinced that it is a body, Josie risks her own life and that of her boat team in order to bring the object to shore. Josie immediately realizes that the jacket belonged to her high school sweetheart and now deceased ex-husband, Ray. Detective Josie Quinn is back (well actually, I guess she never left), and she's in fighting form. This time, besides her usual murder-solving prowess, she and her police colleagues are dealing with the weather: heavy rains have flooded much of small-town Denton, Pennsylvania, rendering some spots virtually inaccessible and putting investigations on a slippery slope.

After Josie and her partner Gretchen Palmer save an elderly woman whose home - and her - are about to be swept away by the raging current, a long-dead, tarp-wrapped body is unearthed, apparently from underneath the rental home's concrete basement. Turns out it's Beverly Urban, one of Josie's high-school classmates - a bully who had a rough life but took it out on everybody else except a couple of close friends. Just another cold case, or so it seems, until Josie discovers that the teenager was wearing a baseball awards jacket that's way too similar to the one that belonged to Josie's late husband, Ray.

Back then, Ray claimed he lost it; but Josie all too well recalls rumors that Ray and Beverly had a "thing" behind Josie's back. Josie didn't believe it then and doesn't want to believe it now, but on the other hand, evidence doesn't lie. Beverly and her mother, Vera, had serious issues which, apparently, led to the two of them making a sudden getaway from Denton, never to be heard from again.

Since Ray's death, Josie is in a happy relationship with coworker Noah, who's almost too good to be true. She's not pining an old love, but neither does she want to learn that her high-school sweetheart and former husband isn't the person she thought he was. As the investigation progresses, Josie gets a call from an unidentified woman who says she's willing to spill the beans. Maybe yes, maybe no; but it doesn't really matter when the woman is murdered right before Josie and Gretchen's eyes.

But when the going gets tough, the tough get going; and nothing describes Josie Quinn more than the word tough. The trail leads to some of Denton's most wealthy and influential residents, several of whom have been keeping dark secrets for many years. In between the action are flashback chapters outlining Josie's memories from high school - and while it's done well, I really hope this is the last I'll see of this over-used technique in future books. And while I'm on the subject of please don'ts, if I read the phrase "his/her smile didn't reach his/her eyes" one more time, I'm gonna barf (it's appeared at least once in at least four out of the last five books I've read; enough, already).

None of that, though, has dampened my enthusiasm for this series - and I'll be eager to read the next one (I've read and enjoyed four others). Thanks to the publisher, via NetGalley, for giving me the opportunity to read and review an advance copy of this one.

Once more I’m going to throw heaps of praise on Lisa Regan who excels herself time and time again in this wonderful series and every single book has been a five star read for me and this latest addition is no different it’s just a perfect read. After 8 previous books it’s always a worry that this book 9 may fall short but rest assured this is just as good as all the rest if not better and it’s one hell of a brilliant series and I love Josie Quinn she is one feisty woman !!
So I’m not going to waffle on about the plot except to say it’s a superb read, fabulous characters as always and can’t fault anything about it at all I just loved it.
If you haven’t read any of the series I would really urge you to do so it has an ongoing backstory that you really don’t want to miss and a whole lot more besides.
Many many thanks to Lisa Regan you did it again girl and wrote another five star winner !!
My thanks also to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me the chance to read the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion

It's all hands on deck as heavy rains cause devastating floods in Denton. While assisting with rescuing a stranded woman Josie spies a wrapped body floating by; a well preserved body of a young woman wearing a jacket that looks just like the one her ex husband wore in high school.
Josie rides an emotional rollercoaster as she digs into the past looking for answers. Between good and bad memories, lack of sleep and watching her town be ravaged by floods, her tough girl veneer begins to crack. Then her grandmother drops a bombshell on her. Can Josie and her team solve this murder before she falls apart?
Another superbly written book in this great series. I really enjoy how we learn more about how Josie's past makes her the determined woman she is today. I am really looking forward to the next book.
Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC.

Josie gets a lead from the victim mother but before she can learn it the woman is murder and Josie realize someone is willing to kill to keep their secrets.
