A man is found washed up on a British beach but seems to have lost his memory.
Dr. Emma Lewis is called upon to take his case, but seems like the government is very interested in this man who got washed up – but why?
But seems like there are details about Emma that the man knows, and he seems to have specifically targeted her.
Slow, and not so intriguing IMHO.
Thanks to netgalley for approving this audiobook ARC.

Excellent! Love this author! Would highly recommend this. Had me in suspense the entire way through the book!

Consistently Well Paced…
Compelling suspense from a talented author. Following an initial slow burn, the plot and pace pick up for a pacy, intriguing and unusual listen with twists and turns aplenty. Narration, by the author herself, is excellent- consistently well paced and well nuanced as one would expect. A satisfying listening experience.

After Something In The Water, I knew I had to get my hands on Catherine Steadman’s next book and I was not disappointed! This is a complex and intriguing story and I really enjoyed the audio narration.

I can never ever download these audiobooks but the title intrigued me so I bought the physical copy. I know there has been mixed set of reviews for this book but I really enjoyed it. It’s just my cup of tea. The book has now gone round my family and if a book is bad it just gets sent to charity but this book is dog eared and still doing the rounds. Eventually someone will pass it back to me and I will probably read it again!

I've had a spate of 3 star reads lately and this is another one of them. I liked it, it entertained me while I read it, but lacked that wow factor to make it a standout read for me.

The book features a man who has lost his memories and a doctor who specialises in memory loss. To help her patient though, she has to travel back to a town and a past that she doesn't want to remember.

There was a twist that I was really hoping would happen, but it never materialised. Instead it felt a bit predictable and the end of the book fell a bit flat for me.

I enjoyed how the author built up the characters, and I loved all the medical explanations about memory. I have no idea how true it all is, but it fascinated me! It seemed like a well researched book.

I listened to the audiobook and found the narrator pleasant to listen to.
A solid read, but lacking the x factor for me.

Thanks to Simon & Schuster Audio UK for giving me for giving me a copy of this book for review consideration. As always, no matter what the source of the book, you get my honest, unbiased opinion.

A fantastic listen that pulled me right in from the very beginning . I loved the author narrating and it was such an excellent story with plenty of twists and turns throughout, 5🌟

I enjoyed this book but I preferred reading it as opposed to the audiobook. I mixed it up and got through it with both. I liked the narrator but I felt it worked better as a physical book.

Mr nobody by Catherine Steadman.
I really enjoyed this audiobook. What a twist. I didn't see that coming. Emma was my favourite character. Wasn't sure about Mathew. I liked that the author narrated this book. 5*.

For those of you who are new here, sometimes I like to run. Well, 'like' is probably too strong a word; 'endure' might be more appropritate. Anyway, one of the reasons I hate running is because I'm so aware of what I'm doing, and I'm therefore counting down the minutes until I can get back into the warm with a cuppa. However, in a bid to make my 'runs' more bearable, I decided to try audiobooks with the logic that if I distract myself, it might be easier.

And what a title to start with: MR NOBODY by Catherine Steadman is a brilliant thriller, with twists and turns, action, pace and suspense. If I was reading it, I would have loved it, listening to it, I *adored* it! Often, it's risky to have the author read their own book, especially in fiction but multi-talented Catherine Steadman (actress as well as author!) brings the story to life with vivacity and a raw realness. (She even does the different voices!😄) I was carried away by the narrative – especially the action-packed final scenes – lapping up the storyline with ease, and totally and utterly gripped.

And, yes, the biggest success is that the unputdownable nature of the novel actually motivated me to get out there and pound the pavement so I could hear the next installment. Congratulations, to Catherine and the publishing team.

This is not feedback for the book but for the inability to download it. I messaged NetGalley on 4 occasions to ask for the issue regarding the NetGalley Shelf app to be fixed (it has a rating in the App store of 2 stars), only to find that this book has now been archived. I have never had any download issues for print books here and I download audiobooks regularly from other providers. Such a shame because I absolutely loved Catherine Steadman's last book Something in the Water - it was a page-turning thriller - and I was really looking forward to this.
Not posting this review to Goodreads for obvious reasons.
Thank you in any event to Catherine Steadman and Simon & Schuster (one of my favourite publishers) for a(n attempted) copy of this ARC. I'll buy a copy instead.

Loved that this was narrated by the author. Great novel. Really got invested in the lives of the characters. Some tense moments within the later stages of the audio that kept me hooked

I enjoyed this read but is wan't jam packed with excitement, it was a very slow burner, which ended with a so so "twist"

Not my favourite book by this author, but a good read nonetheless.

If you like books with a good character development then you would like this one.

I REALLY enjoyed this. I couldn’t stop listening. I was gripped from the start and just wanted everybody to stop talking to me so I could concentrate on this. I was a bit worried when I saw that the narrator was the author but she is brilliant at it. I really liked her different voices without them being too different and annoying. The only annoying thing is that you can hear her dry mouth too much, especially in the first third or so, and it’s not nice to hear her swallowing etc in headphones! It’s a shame because she’s a really great narrator and I’m bloody fussy with narrators of audiobooks. It did improve as it went on though.

I did like the way that phone calls sounded a bit kind of ‘down the line’. I’ve heard this in other audiobooks recently and while it does take a bit getting used to I do like it and think it adds something like you’re listening to a drama or something.

I didn’t love the ending but I think it was probably the right one for the book. I think it just felt a bit anticlimactic after everything that had happened before.

I stayed up far too late listening to this and I’m now going to listen to Catherine’s first book which I’ve had for ages and hadn’t got round to listening to. I really enjoyed Mr Nobody and was sad when it had finished.

A man washed up on a beach in Norfolk with no memory of who he is. Emma Lewis, a doctor specialising in memory loss, tasked with diagnosing and treating him. She has her own issues centred round a family crisis Which took place in the same area years before.
I had it as an audio book and found much of the story enjoyable and intriguing. For me the ending was just a little too convoluted and contrived.
I would certainly look out for other books by the same author.

This is my first book by Catherine Steadman and I really enjoyed this interesting and well written, very descriptive story of an unknown man found on the beach with no memory of who he is or how he came to be there.

The story unfolds slowly with a great opening which totally drew me in.. I loved the character of Emma, and her backstory was very intriguing and we were drip fed little bits in each chapter making me want to keep listening for just a bit longer. The book is clever and well plotted and kept me guessing right to the end.

It's not always a good idea for authors to narrate their own books but Catherine Steadman knows her characters better than anyone and so was perfect narrating this book.

WOW WOW WOW What a cracking read/listen! Audio version of this book 📚 that was narrated by the author. I’ve never listened to a book read by the author and was pleasantly surprised as she really brought her characters to life. An original storyline that had twists and turns and kept you guessing all the way through. Very clever plot that kept me gripped from start to finish. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but would definitely not be the last! If I did have to criticise this book then it would be the cover as it was rather boring which is the complete opposite to the book ! Highly recommend

I absolutely LOVED this story!

Brilliant story development and it kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end.
It kept me guessing and I kept switching between liking "Matthew" and being wary of his motives.

It was a brilliant idea to have the author read her own book. First of all, she's got a stunning and mesmerising voice and second of all, she knows where to put all the nuances.

A highly recommend listen.

I can honestly say the audiobook of ‘Mr Nobody’ has seriously enhanced my life over the 3 joyous days it took me to get through it!

From the synopsis and first chapter I thought this was going to be a ‘slow burner’, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it ramping up a notch in the opening chapters - by chapter 25 I was utterly hooked - hanging on to Catherine’s every captivating word!

We are introduced to ambitious Psychiatric Consultant, Emma, who is every bit the intelligent and successful young professional.

When an esteemed colleague calls out of the blue, he advises Emma he has put her name forward to work on a pioneering case - a rare ‘fugue’ patient who mysteriously appeared on a beach, mute and with apparently no memory of who he is, or his life to date. Emma all but jumps at the opportunity - the only draw back being that the case is situated in the home town she mysteriously and abruptly left over a decade previously. Reasoning that her appearance has changed sufficiently in the intervening years, and with a new name, Emma accepts the case and relocates her life accordingly.

Over the course of this book we are slowly and tantalisingly revealed the secrets of Emma’s past, who this mysteriously patient is and how he knows disturbing things about Emma’s past that no-one else is privy to.

This story gave me shivers in parts, it is SO mysterious and well executed in terms of what is revealed and when. The plot is clever, unpredictable and most definitely twist-filled! Undoubtedly a 5* listen!

That author, Catherine Steadman, narrated this book herself makes perfect sense when a read through her biog reveals she is an esteemed actress. As such it is no surprise that she narrates her own work superbly well, knowing better than anyone when (and how to use her voice) to add that delicious suspense! Her voice is also in equal parts soothing and beautiful, making it a joy to listen to.

My thanks to Netgalley, author/ narrator Catherine Steadman and publisher for the opportunity to review this audiobook in exchange for an advance copy.
