I feel like I have to start this review with the fact that Mhairi is undoubtedly the best author around at the moment when it comes to this (and in my opinion, any) genre. Her insights into female and male/female friendships are always spot on and Last Night is no exception. From long term friendships that feel stronger than your family ties, the one that may or may not be the one, family dynamics and pure heartbreak in more ways than one, I think I can safely say I’ve read my book of the year and it’s less than a week in. Perfection that I could not put down, and now I’ve finished I feel like I’ve lost my friends. Beautifully written, witty, wry and just incredible,
