Finding Home
by Kate Field
A really well written book. Extremely heartwarming and heart wrenching in equal measure. Mim had a bad start in life after living in foster care leaving her with little to no self esteem/ self worth also just a little bitter but as she gets older and the people she encounters change her attitude and give her an increased self worth and work ethic and she is always willing to help others . This is a book that shows that one good turn will lead to another. Lovely characters and a few quirky ones too. An all round feel good read. 4.5/5

This is definitely a feel good book that will leave readers emotionally invested in Mim and the Howards. Mim lives as best she can but still offers kindness to everyone she meets. When the Howards need help, Mim readily steps up. Her kindness sets the example for the rest of the book, which was a pleasure to read. It really deserves more but 5 stars is all I can give.

A heartfelt story set in Devon with sandy beaches and a sweet romance. It’s was about family and acceptance and so much more.

This was a cute story, I like that the main character had so much back story. However, I didn’t really enjoy it. I just don’t think this genre is for me (nothing against the book). But if you like really easy romances with no steamy scenes I suggest you read this although it is technically Women’s fiction. If you enjoy cheesy, hallmark movies this book is for you.

This charming book warmed my heart and left me with a smile on my face. The story follows Mim, a woman who has never had a home or had many friends over the years. She stumbles upon a couple in need, helps them out and finds more than she could have ever dreamed possible.

The characters were charming, the location a delight and nod to friendship was very well done. I highly recommend this feel-good read for a cozy afternoon well spent.

Thank you to NetGalley, Harper ollins UK, One More Chapter and Kate Field for an advance copy of this charmer. It was the perfect way to spend the day.

Lovely feelgood book about Mim who is homeless, living in her car, being given a job and somewhere to live after doing a good turn. She is a great main character and it is a real story of friendship and lovely to see how her life is turned round

Such a lovely story, very heart-warming. I liked the fact that it was set in Burnley too!

Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.

I loved this book! Firstly, the initial setting of Burnley surprised me - not often you see Burnley in books!

I love the conflict between Northern working /Southern rich stereotypes and assumptions.

I appreciated that the romance was slow and developed from a genuine friendship and appreciation of the real person (not the stereotypes!) not just rich man loves the hired help.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I am a sucker for a huge character change or new lease on life story.

I think the author did such a wonderful job developing the main characters personality and I was so emotionally invested in her. The picturesque setting was so beautiful. The description made me feel as if I was there.

This story was such a beautiful and inspiring read.

A really lovely story.

It is about Mim who has never known a home life and has never really made any friends over the years.

She meets Bea & Bill in a lay-by where they have broken down she offers to take them back to their house in Devon, they are a couple that are very much family is everything.

They offer her accommodation free in the caravan they have at their home are things looking up for Mim, she makes friends and is happier than she has been for a long time.

It is a very sweet book.

This was a perfect book to sit back and relax with, a lovely read with a positive feel good message.

I felt as if I knew the characters from the first page, Mim finds herself homeless and jobless so her only option is to live in her car. She meets Bill & Bea when they break down on route to their Niece‘ s wedding.

Mim offers them a lift back to Devon, this is the start of a beautiful friendship between Mim and the Howard family. Kate has created such wonderful and colourful characters the Howard family are a dream to read about as is Mim, her character just shines throughout.

I adore Devon so the setting is perfect for me, Kate has brought Littlemead to life, I could picture in my mind every little detail.

This is such a great cosy read and brings a little sunshine into the dullest of days!

I was so happy this was not mainly about romance but about family and emotions and relationships. Friendship was given more importance by the author, and I loved how she made the prose so interesting. The descriptions had me transported to that coast, and I loved imagining myself there. Overall, a captivating story.

This was such an adorable story. Mim happens to meet this couple who needs help getting to a wedding that’s 5 hours away. After finding out she’s living in the car, the couple offers her a place to stay a job so that she can get back on her feet.
