I read this beautiful story in one sitting. This book had me smiling and crying in equal measure, I became so emotionally invested in the central characters, especially Willa. The way that the story was written from the different points of view of the central characters really made the story more real, and it was easier to identify with how the characters minds were working as the main characters were quite complicated people with baggage from their pasts. Despite the emotional content of the story (no spoilers!), the book left me with a warm fuzzy feeling as the main messages of love, hope and the importance of family were emphasised. The ending of the story was all that I could have hoped for and more. I highly recommend this book, Debbie Macomber has created a beautiful little gem of a story that will stay with you long after you finish the last page.

This book has been an emotional read for me and I shed a few tears. This story has been dedicated to one of Debbie's friends and upon reading the letter to her readers and then reading this story, I believe it is a fitting tribute.
I adore Debbie's writing. The characters she creates feel like people you would meet on any street corner (not in a creepy way) and they become friends. That is how I felt about Willa and Harper. Two sisters who have already been through so much and are yet to face their biggest battle yet. The coastal town of Oceanside has been featured in a few books that I have read recently by Debbie and I love returning, not only to hear about how some past characters are but to re-live the beautiful setting once again.
The love stories that feature in this are touching, heartwarming and full of difficulties that life just seems to throw in the way sometimes, that only the strongest of feelings can overcome them. We have all been there and can relate in some way, I sure could. Willa and her family have lost their mother and as the story progresses you get to hear about how their parents found each other and the strong connection that their father had with their late mother that led to some of the families troubles. Another, beautiful love story was between Harper and John and I cannot say to much here without giving to much away but it was a lovely addition to the story and one I would loved to have read more about, perhaps a story from Harper's point of view.
The main love story was between Willa and a handsome customer who comes into her coffee shop, even though he doesn't like coffee. How romantic is that! This was a romance that I loved reading about as you got to read from both points of view, which gave some real depth to the struggles they had and the emotions they both go through to overcome the past, to fall in love and move on.
The strength that both women show in A Walk Along the Beach was a highlight for me. The ultimate message that I got from this story is that no matter what happens in life, Love is what we should hold onto and what will ultimately get us through anything.
A beautiful, touching and heartwarming tribute to a dear friend, A Walk Along the Beach is one of Debbie Macomber's best stories to date.

I love reading Debbie Macomber’s books absolutely loved this book. I loved reading A Cottage By The Sea and also, the fact that this book was back in the same area.

I suggest a box of tissues is to hand before you start to read this book.

Willa and Harper, The Lakey sisters total opposites of each other

After the death of their mother, their father was lost in grief so Willa had no choice but to raise sister Harper and her brother Lucas. After that she put her own life on hold to look Harper, who was going through a horrible illness.

Now as adults, they are roommates. Willa, who owns a coffee/bakery shop and Harper, loves her job as a yoga instructor.

Harper announces her plan to summit Mount Rainier to Willa. But Willa fears Harper may be pushing herself too far.

Sean O’Malley comes into Willa's shop for coffee every day. But his intention is something else, he wants to ask her out but is shy. On one morning, Harper asks him to sit with her and Willa.

They both have busy careers, and Willa has her family to watch out for too. But they become close.

It seems that life, plans to challenge them all more still, and as both sisters discover, family is everything in darkest and hardest times.

After finishing this book I was a mess. The character of Willa, ii felt was relatable, as I felt was Sean’s.

Can Willa and Sean overcome what I they been though and be together????
