This first Isle of Palms book had a lot going on! From some mystery, suspense, romance, and some paranormal elements, there's something for everyone.
I enjoyed getting to know the characters (some likeable, some downright despicable), and the setting definitely got my attention.
I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

I thought it would be a nice paranormal read, but it ended up being a book filled with dramatic and kind of useless characters. Also, the whole plot felt redundant.

Having lived in the south, I love books set in the low country of South Carolina. This is my first Stephanie Edwards book and won't be my last. I loved the plot and the characters. They are well developed and believable. I was hooked from the beginning.

The only downside, I feel like parts of the story were repetitive and moved slowly. Despite this, I found myself unable to put this book down because I had to know how it ended. I look forward to reading book 2!

I love a good ghost story! This book had it all for me; a little paranormal, some suspense and of course romance.

I'll definitely recommend! The book follows Blake after she flees a cheating fiancé and goes to her Granny's cottage.

It's hard to share with out giving things away, but the author does an amazing job writing these characters and making it so easy to despise some & like others. Had a great ending too.

At first I thought I was going to like this book but that quickly changed. Blake got on my last nerve. She was always pouting or kicking things. She was very immature.

Wonderful story with excellent character development. When I can engage with a character, I find myself more invested in the story. This one was so well told and kept me guessing until the very end.

I'm abit conflicted about this one, on one hand I enjoyed it but on the other I also.found it abit far fetched and found it dragged on a little at the end. Not a bad book at all just not one of my favourites.

This was an unexpected read. Blake goes to her grandmother's home to take a break from her abusive and cheating husband. But something is off. And when Clint, her first love turns up, things become even stranger.

A page-turner and totally unputdownable, this book was a pleasant surprise. I loved the story and the characters. Will look forward to reading more works from Stephanie Edwards.

The book sounded amazing, family drama, a woman trying to start over, paranormal goings-ons. But the plot didn’t live up to my expectations.

The ideas were all there but the book was very wordy, lots of ‘this happened, then this happened’ and a lot of the build up happened in the first few chapters so there was a lot of fillers to get from a to b.

There was a lot going on in this book, some parts had me gripped, some parts had me drifting. The paranormal parts were just skimming the surface; I wanted more details, more depth. The word haunting is in the title and it gives you a sense of drama and I was expecting the creepy-vibes but they didn’t come.

If you enjoy a page-turner from beginning to end, this is the book for you. Great location and interesting well developed characters.

i enjoyed going through this book, it had a suspenseful and spooky atmosphere. I really enjoyed the mystery and figuring out what was going on.

I read this book through a reading group I joined over the summer. I really enjoyed this book, cover to cover. It had a little bit of everything from unexpected twists to romance. If you love the Lowcountry And ghosts, be sure to read it!

There are a lot of interesting ideas in this book however I think that maybe there was too much going on and the execution just wasn't there for me to be able to enjoy the story. The character development wasn't great and the narratives felt a bit forced. I really wanted to love this book but it was a miss for me.

Suspenseful and haunting but lacking a little something to make it the complete story. I found that it was predictable in the romantic sense which is why I think I stay away from that genre.

We have all come across a narcissistic, manipulative person at one point or another in our life, but how often do they come back to haunt us... literally?

Blake was a strong woman who got engaged to Parker, a narcissistic, abusive man with no remorse. Slowly, he sucked the life out of her, isolating her from her friends until she had had enough and ran out. He followed, died, then followed her still while she tried to create a happier life with an old flame. Will she ever be free of him?

The book started off an interesting premise. In the beginning itself, one gets a whiff of the paranormal that's enough to get one hooked. I adored Nancy, her character manifests just how easy it is to be tough and compassionate at the same time. It's a cosy read and the author did a good job keeping it simple, to be read in winter nights by the fireplace.

However I had a few issues with the book. For one, the book felt rushed. Also the dialogue forced.
Exhibit A:
Thank you. Us blood sisters gotta stick together.” Julia winked at Nancy.
“Amen to that. Our friendship makes the world go ‘round.” Nancy smiled.

There were some inconsistencies and missing pieces, confusing the reader.
Eg:1) “Anyway, Parker sounds like a peach gone to rot, and so does Sharon."says Nancy. Except Blake never took Sharon's name in front of Nancy.
2)....but then, his black, empty eyes shifted back to the paver. It has been mentioned before that his eyes were green.
The characters felt slightly one dimensional, there wasn't much growth and the romance between Blake and Clint felt artificial.

Overall it's a good read if one wants a simple read, with elements of mystery and paranormal.

The Haunting on Palm Court by Stephanie Edwards is a story filled with suspense, paranormal, murder and love. I fell into this story quite early on because the author does a great job at ensuring the characters intermingle perfectly and the story is very fluid. Blake catches her husband having an affair. She decides to move into her grandmothers home to find herself amidst the pain. While there, she gets reacquainted with her first love, Clint’s grandmother. Clint comes back into her life at just the right time. Parker wants to kill Blake. He tried and failed but while running from the police he had a wreck that killed him. Blake was distraught and both Clint and his grandmother came to her aid. However, things started to happen and Blake thinks that Parker has returned from the dead to carry out his deed. The story carry’s you along in such a way that you will want to know what is truly going on. Could Blake be crazy? Maybe not.

My feelings about this book jumped around as I continued reading. I was fascinated by the premise of the book, and I loved the strong female characters. A ghost story, A house on the beach, A little mystery? Yes please. The romance part of the book....pretty blah for me. Clint was kind of a wishy washy character, so I didn't enjoy him. Parts of the book just seemed rushed, but that's just my opinion. If you like romance and want to try paranormal this is the book for you.
