LOVE THIS BOOK! Sareeta writes romance so perfectly; it's steamy and fun, with actually representative love and non-traumatic storylines. Perfect for fans of Jasmine Guillory; would definitely recommend.

Sadly, I tried to read this for months but could not get into it for the life of me! Perhaps it is because I am just not in the mood but there were several errors with the file which just helped me put it down and not pick it back up.

If you like romance books then this may be for you! I plan to put this on my TBR to try and read it again later. If I do, I will create another review on Goodreads for it.

A beautifully written love story that I adored.
The characters were fabulous and really easy to connect with.
A strong plot, with a storyline that flowed perfectly. A gorgeous, heart warming read.

This book read like a cinematic love story; it almost had a touch of magical realism for me, as these two star-crossed lovers found their way through life and back to each other, through storms and airport dashes and heartfelt confessions. It was in turns angsty and dramatic, and romantic and sensual. A perfect shot of escapism if you like to really feel a lot of feelings when you're reading!

A lady reached out to me on twitter. Will you read my book? well yes i will , that's what i do. Read and write and review 24/7. She sent me the book, I almost forgot about it till someone else asked can you recommend any multi-cultural romances? AND like a light bulb I remembered this one and have recommended it several times since.
Both of the characters Ren and Kayla are quite the catch for anyone but together they are a power couple. But wait are they a couple?
Ren is an uber talented filmmaker and photographer. As a beautiful man of Afro-Brazilian decent you read in the accent you prey would sound as good in real life as it does in your head. Good luck finding the actor that could fill Ren's shoes on screen. Yes this book has movie possibilities.
Kayla is a journalist who is a strong willed woman all women, especially young adults need to read about and aspire to her no apology career path.
After Ren and Kayla's chemistry is indisputable as the reader you will be on a roller coaster when they decide life is complicated enough, why burden each other??? WHAT??? because love and life are messy and you CAN have and WANT both.

Unfortunately, I was slow in downloading this story and it was archived before I had the chance. I'm sure it is a wonderful read.

Blogger/artist Kayla meets film director Ren at a press junket, and there’s a connection, they ‘get’ each other. But there’s a world between them, they’re unlikely to meet again, and both have stuff going on...

This steamy romance is completely out of my normal reading, but I enjoyed it. The characters are well-drawn, the conversations felt real, the complications weren’t overly-contrived, and the steamy bits were steamy! I also enjoyed the love/hate relationship Kayla had with her sister. And can we talk about just how stunning that cover is?!

This may never be my go-to genre, but I’d certainly read more by Sareeta Domingo.

This is part of publisher Jacaranda’s Twenty in 2020 initiative, publishing 20 Black British authors throughout the year. Thank you to #NetGalley and #Jacaranda for an eARC to review.

This was hard for me to get into, it was stodgy and overly descriptive. Both characters feel flat. The first few pages were mildly interesting but after that it gets bogged down. 100 pages in and things have happened, classic cancelled and one hotel room which should be a recipe for success (for me) but I just kept scrolling to see how many more pages i had left to read.

If I Don't Have You starts with ambitious journalist/ artist Kayla interviewing Ren, an afro-brazilian filmmaker. The immediate attraction between them draws the reader in straight away! Get the reader a chemistry set with this because there's plenty in these pages! Stuck at an airport with all flights cancelled Ren and Kayla head to a hotel booked by Ren's team but with only one room available their spark turns into a night of unforgettable passion.

Lifes twists and turns pushes them apart from each other and you are left wondering where their hearts will lead. Will the star crossed lovers find their way back to each other or does destiny have a different path for each to follow?

This novel tore at my heart strings while my inner self yelled at Ren and Kayla to just communicate!! The realness of their emotions and personal journeys channels the classics like Romeo and Juliet in modern times - thankfully without the tragic ending! If you enjoy a good romance then I definately recommend you pick this up! A word of warning to any younger readers there are some rather passionate scenes!!

I did read half of this book but it wasn't for me. I think I will give it another try when it is published because the eARC had lots of letters missing which made reading it quite difficult. I did absolutely love Kayla's character, she was so amazing. It just felt very slow to me and not much happened.

'I click the link, and the suddenly-familiar piano and bass begin to emerge from my speakers, followed by the sweet, yearning voice of Mr Gregory Isaacs. If I Don’t Have You. I listen to the sweeping, romantic declarations in the lyrics, absorbing the idea that for Kayla there’ll be nobody else.'

Kayla is a Black British fine artist, photgrapher and journalist driven to prove herself; Ren is an Afro-Brazilian filmmaker recovering from romantic betrayal. Add the rain-shimmering NYC backdrop and a late night interview and you have IF I DON'T HAVE YOU: sensual, sexy, passionate and intense. I winced at how honest and raw it is in places, and at others allowed myself to be completely swept away by this vibrant unravelling of love.

I don't normally read romance fiction, but let me start by saying Ren is fine AF. Both Kayla and Ren are artists and I loved how well seeing two people find their creative hearts sat alongside this romantic journey of figuring out what love is. Kayla makes some wild choices for her art, and while she does have some things to apologise for (they both do), she never apologises for her professional determination or her artistic passion, which I read as an act of radical self love.

Kayla isn't subjected to any emotionally violent or physically abusive relationships and this isn't a story about a Black woman wondering for 300 pages why nobody loves her - in fact, she is desirable to many and loved deeply, in myriad ways by several characters. She is loved and in love and this feels revolutionary. Ren has ruined all of my future relationships and that's that on that.

In the midst of what has been a truly horrendous year, I revelled in the pleasure of just being able to escape and ENJOY this love story. Loved this for me as my first introduction to Jacaranda Books' #TwentyIn2020 and I'm looking forward to Sareeta's upcoming anthology of love stories written by British women of colour! Pro tip: the title of IF I DON'T HAVE YOU is inspired by the Gregory Isaacs song; have it playing on loop in the background while you read from the moment the song is first mentioned to the morning after because ugh! It definitely heightens the cinematic quality of this writing. This deserves to be on the big screen.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

When Kayla Joseph interviews Ren Morgan, there is an instant attraction towards them. And when they meet again at the airport before realizing that the storm would stop all flights from happening, they form a connection and bond. One thing leads to another and sparks are flying everywhere.

I rated If I Don’t Have You three stars. I found this story not as exciting as I hoped for after reading the synopsis. I was intrigued from the start but after a while into the book, I was not given the satisfaction that would lead me to being excited about this book. It was interesting to see the way Kayla and Ren felt toward each other and the way they came together after months and months of hardship and complications. Their relationship was nice to read and was nicely developed.

For me this was an okay book. I like the way Sareeta Domingo writes and was definitely fascinated by the story throughout the book but the plot was lacking in a few places and that put me off to really enjoying my time.

I do wish I liked this more.

Thank you again to NetGalley for providing me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I got access to this book through netgalley as an E-ARC. It has open door romance scenes between the two characters: Ren and Kayla, American and British. “How well do you need to know someone to know you’ve fallen in love?” I liked the story as it had a unique plot. I would have preferred if the characters spent more time together then apart.
