Alex went very quickly from girl to girl and we got a little glimpse of them and then they left... but i did not get to know Alex like i wanted, and i were just bored... it did not take time to let us get to know characters much. Just quick and easy.

Kingdom of Spades really fell flat for me. I couldn't connect with the main character Alex and while I can see where the character could develop more into a likable person, he just didn't do it for me. It was really subdued and it set things up without much of a plot. Very short read!

I liked the premise of this book but not the main character. I understand wanting to find the right fit for yourself in the world, but Alex seemed unappreciative. It was a short story and the first in the series so hopefully this character will evolve into a likeable human.

This book uhm. Alex to me is not very likable but I think the whole story was rushed and there just wants any build. It sort of was like here is Alex, not so tragic backstory, life changing decision, poor life changing decision, Vegas, poker, girls, Atlantic City, girl. Wow I just gave you the story how I read it. Has potential just really disappointing read.

The premise of this book sounded good, however the main character was unlikable for me and I couldn't get into it even though it was only 50 pages.
