An exciting cat and mouse chase thriller. San Francisco cop Jake Ellis opens his apartment door to find his girlfriend's daughter Molly covered in blood, telling him someone just shot her mum. At the same time Jake's phone bleeps with an amber alert stating he has abducted Molly.
So who is framing Jake? To clear his name, Jake will need to run.
An action-packed thrilling read with short snappy chapters to keep you turning the pages

Jake Ellis is a San Francisco police officer when he gets a knock on his door. When he opens it in comes his girlfriend’s daughter Molly and she is covered in blood. Her mother has been shot. Suddenly an amber alert goes off on his phone and it says that a young girl has been abducted and the person responsible is Jake Ellis.
Hunted by Jake Ellis is a fast-paced thriller and a great debut by author Alex Knight. The story with Jake Ellis being hunted by the Police and the FBI of the attempted murder of his girlfriend Rachel was an original and interesting plot and I like how the author kept it up to date with using social media and podcasts to tell the public what was going on minute by minute. But I felt that the second half of the story lost its tempo and became a bit predictable and the reason why it all happened in the first place was a bit of a let-down for me. 3.5 stars from me.

I've a read a few books recently where the premise has been quite new me. This was again this case with this thriller. A girl appears on your door step, bloody and alone, she says her mother in injured, and it turns out that you are the suspect. What do you do?

It felt like this one could be a tv series or movie, it has that hollywood blockbuster feel to it. I could imagine the scenes in my head. There is always something going on - it has pace and thrills and real drama.

You may read this in one go, it is that addictive, and I would have devoured it had I had the time. This one is a rollercoaster but a really good one. I would recommend this one to anyone wanting to binge a thriller in one go!

I have mixed feelings about this book. The teaser makes the book very intriguing, and the plot is clever. The writing is very descriptive and I could really imagine everything in my head as I was reading. But there was a stumbling block for me whilst reading this book. I just couldn’t help thinking, why does he run? He knows he is innocent so why not stay out and let it play out? There would still be a story in it So as I kept thinking that whilst reading, it has to be 3 stars for me.

Hunted By Alex Knight is a stunning thriller with the most captivating opening I've read in a long time and an epic on the go plotline.

I enjoyed this book so much so that I read it in one sitting. I couldn't put it down till I found out who shot Molly and her mother Rachel Donaldson. This story is based in San Francisco, told from four important main characters, and such unique and well crafted short chapters that were so gripping and had all the information I needed before jumping to the next.

This book felt meticulous and gripping like I was watching a movie rolling scene after scene, from the brilliant beginning with bloodied Molly at the front door of Jake Ellis and the Amber alert and him finding out that he was the main suspect in the early morning shooting. To special Agent, Catherine Lark from the FBI, who was needed immediately for assistance in the scene of the double shooting. Chrissie Chung was interested in the case from the beginning reporting it through her podcast Untraceable, where she goes deep into missing person cases from disappearance, to resolution, and the very recent case was her latest focus.

The scene from Molly's point of view where she watched her mom get shot from the driver's seat window, gave me instant goosebumps and heart palpitations. So well carried, allowing me to invest and connect so deeply with the characters.

Such a well written and described book, the characters evolved greatly with every chapter.

When the full picture of the suspect emerged it was revealed in such a riveting way.

Thank you so much for providing me with a free ARC in return for an honest review.

Wowza, this was one of those gripping books that opens in a way that absolutely captivates you! Absolutely unputdownable, full of tension, twists and turns, thrills, chills, and shocks! I could hardly set this book down, because it was very gripping, original, and the character development amazing, allowing me to connect with the characters more than normal! This book was very well written, had such a unique way of doing things within the story, and riveting! I highly, highly recommend this one, but must warn that it’s one you will be finishing in one sitting!

Will buzz around and use lower amazon reviewer number on release date!

When Jake Ellis's girlfriend's daughter knocks on his door reporting that her mother has been shot, he knows he it being set up for it but he doesn't know why. The two go on the run while he tries to figure out who is setting him up.

I really liked the pace of this novel. It reminded me of a Joseph Finder novel, where it takes place over a short period of time and things are moving along fast. It held my interest. My only complaint would be that I felt the ending came a bit out of nowhere. But, if this is a debut, as it appears to be, it is really well done and I would read more from this author.

Wow, what a rollercoaster of a read, Molly turns up at Police Officer Jake Ellis’ door with blood on her, just as an alert goes off on Ellis’ phone, an amber alert and he is the main suspect, her mother, Jake’s girlfriend has been shot but who did it and why and why is Jake in the frame?

Jake & Molly go on the run with both the police and the FBI in hot pursuit, they have to figure out who is trying to frame him and keep Molly safe at the same time.

This was a fast paced, action packed gripping book with plenty of twists along the way with the big reveal a shock to all.

When his girlfriends daughter turns up on his doorstep covered in blood a policeman’s life is thrown upside down as an amber alert is issues sighting him as the gun man. As he goes on the run with the girl he must race to find out who it is that has set him up and why they are targeting his love ones before it’s too late. This is a fast paced thriller and I enjoyed the podcast that was also running alongside exposing the investigation to the public.

Young Molly turns up at her mums boyfriend  Jake Ellis's door covered in blood, scared and upset, her mum has been shot. There's an amber alert out for her abduction, the suspect is Jake.

I really enjoy this book, I loved the storyline behind it, it was something I haven't read before. The story kept me wanting to read on and find out what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed the opening, it had me gripped right from the start. The characters were well formed in the book, at first I didn't like FBI agent Catherine Lark but in the end she really grew on me. I love when a book can change your mind on a character.

The book flips between 4 different perspectives, Jake the abductor, Molly the young girl, Catherine the FBI agent and Kelly the reporter. I loved the addition of the online reporter Kelly, it was so unexpected when she was introduced to the book but it made it feel more real, like I could genuinely see someone wanting to get to the front of the story like she wanted!

The only downfall I have with the book is that I guessed the plot of the book quite early on though, I'm usually never able to do that! I felt like it was quite obvious, which was quite disappointing.

In all I still enjoyed it, it was a good read, I would definitely recommend it if your looking for a new crime, whodunnit book!

Hunted
By Alex Knight

4 stars

Police Officer Jake Ellis is on the run with the daughter of his lover, who is covered in her mother’s blood. He is the main suspect of her murder and must run to prove his innocence. Who is trying to frame him and why?

Action from the first pages, as the story runs initially at a fast pace. FBI and police chase Ellis to save Molly, who they believe just witnessed the murder of her mother by Jake.

The story is well written, with lots of action. The plot constantly moves, with the unexpected killer not being revealed until the final chapters.

Thoroughly enjoyable to read from start to finish. I was hooked from the off - it was exciting the whole way through and just kept me wanting to know more and more. The storyline was original and intriguing with each character being relevant and playing an interesting part. The storyline was well thought out and the different sides to the investigation in different chapters all linked in well together. My first read of a title by Alex Knight and it was a style of writing that I really enjoyed wholeheartedly. I shall be reading more from this author for sure.

Jake is a police officer in San Francisco when one morning his girlfriend's daughter Molly appears at his door. Molly is covered in blood spatter and reveals that her mum has been shot. Jake receives an amber alert on his mobile phone that Molly is declared missing and he, Jake, is the prime suspect and the police are hunting him down.

Originally when I read the blurb I thought it sounded really interesting but the more I read I felt the concept was a bit lost on me! I kept thinking "why didn't he just go to the police when he received the amber alert?" If he just went with Molly, he and Molly could have backed each other up and then the whole thing about the police chasing him wouldn't have been an issue? The police then wouldn't have wasted time looking for Molly and Jake? Maybe the concept of the book was lost on me but the more I read the more frustrating it became. The authors writing is sound and very detailed. There is absolute nothing wrong with the writer's technique and went to great detail in describing each of the characters, giving you a connection to them, bringing them to life. The book just didn't hit the spot for me.

‘Hunted’ is the debut novel from Alex Knight and it looks as the Scottish crime writers fraternity, have a new member. The story is set in contemporary San Francisco and is clearly well researched as Knight is familiar with both FBI and police procedures. Within the opening pages, his girlfriend is shot and seriously injured, and her young daughter turns up on his doorstep, scared and seeking refugee. We then jump back several minutes in time to learn what has happened to Molly and her mother. And, just why Jake is the prime suspect in a double homicide and abduction.

From there, the place does not let up and the reader is taken on a wild journey with Molly and Jake as he attempts to prove his innocence – it certainly appears to the reader that Jake is innocent, but why is his past coming back to haunt him? Who could possibly want to hurt him badly enough to frame him for multiple murders? These questions drive the storyline as Jake struggles to hide and investigate at the same time.

This is book for someone who likes a thriller where the villain is not immediately obvious but takes time to determine. Action packed and with plenty of twists.
