Nice use if rhyme. Cute giraffe but the illustrations of the humans are not very appealing.

I read this book with my daughter 4 times and we both enjoyed it. The book is about a little girl called Lucy who loses her favourite cuddly toy while she is on holiday.. She was very sad about losing her toy and this made my daughter feel sad.. We spoke about how she would feel if she lost her faviourite toy. As the story went on, Lucy went through many feelings of loss and her family and friends supported her. She was gifted a new cuddly toy which she loved, but she never forgot about her favourite toy, who always had a place in her heart. She learned how to come to terms with her feelings and how to live with loss and grief. At the end of the book there was a happy ending which made me smile.

A lovely and ultimately heart-warming story that will help Children learn that the things we lose are never truly forgotten or gone. I loved the inclusive illustrations too.

A story that introduces love and loss to young readers.
Lucy and Lou (a stuffed toy) do everything together until one day, on a cruise, Lou is dropped overboard. Lucy is heartbroken but learns that time, memories and supportive friends can help you through.
This was a simple story, and it took me half the book to realise that it was a rhyming tale, that could be used to help young children understand loss and why losing something, or someone, you cherish can be painful.

I like the idea but not the execution of this. The text/font and layout are of poor quality and this subtracts much from the story.

This is a general comment but I feel it needs to be made at some point: I find it a pity that many books of similar quality make it to be published. The ones that are worthy of circulation story wise are lost in the midst of so many poorly created books.

Lost by Christine Reynebeau is written in a rhyming format that makes this book easy to read and entertaining/engaging to young children. This book easily explains the relationship between Lucy and her toy and how devastating it can be to break that bond. With this book, you can explain to children how to work through the loss and how to go on despite it. Hawkes illustrations accompany the words beautifully. No lie, I adore the very last picture of the story!

A very sweet story of a little girl called Lucy who's lost her favourite toy a Giraffe called Lou. It's about loss, sadness, and remembering the happiness that your favourite thing has given you even if it makes you sad sometimes. It teaches children that it's ok to feel this way and that there's always find memories to look back on with fondness.

Lost is a very cute children’s book. This book is about an important topic, losing someone or something you care about. The child grieves for her lost stuffed animal. Lost discusses a lot of emotions which is something I don’t think was addressed when I was little. The book ended on a happy note.

The illustrations are great. They are very colorful and well done. I like that the children in the book are diverse.

I recommend Lost to anyone looking for a cute children’s book about loss and grief.

I love social emotional books. So, I really appreciate the concept of writing about loss in a more tangible way for younger kiddos. Using a stuffy as the object of loss and validating deep feelings about it could be super useful in supporting a kiddo who wants or needs some practice with this concept about something small ish that feels big to them.

I’m afraid it would be trivializing for a kid struggling with bigger loss (like loved ones etc). I’m also afraid the formatting, writing, and art just weren’t my style.

'Lost' is a very sweet children's picture book about a girl who loses her beloved stuffed giraffe. The short story focuses on being grateful for what we had even when it hurts. The illustrations were nice and I really enjoyed the moral of this story. 'Lost' would be a wonderful resource for a child who has lost something beloved to them. I would recommend this book for young children, maybe aged 3-5 years old.

A lovely little book but in my opinion, it floats in too much sadness. It tells about losing something that is dear to you and how you can handle the situation, which isn’t bad. Like I said before, the think the sad part is overdone, otherwise, it’s an okay book.

My little girl enjoyed this and asked lots of questions about Lou and where he had gone.

Lucy and her stuffed toy Lou do everything together, but one day Lou falls off the edge of a cruise ship and is lost to the ocean forever. Lost follows Lucy as she learns to deal with the different emotions of loosing Lou.

This book was so sweet, it almost had me tearing up too! It did such a great job at capturing Lucy’s emotions, balancing the grief of loss and the happy memories of love. The book handled this topic so well, and the illustrations beautifully aided the story along.

Loss to a child can be traumatic and if not handled well can be a dysfunction on handling their emotions. Loss can come in many different ways and this resource for parents and their children deal on the loss of a stuffed animal that has given comfort for the child's short life. From the child's perspective,your child will see his/her emotions are not unusual but a tool for growth and maturity. The parents justify their child's pain and joy and that always puts a child at ease. Parents will learn their important role in helping a child feel secure.

Nice story of loss explained to littles. A little girl loses her beloved toy giraffe on a cruise, which prompts her father to explain how love and loss are part of life. Simple explanation of a difficult subject. I think this book would make a good gift for a child who has suffered a lose, I like the ending of the story; the illustration of the shark snuggling with the giraffe at the bottom of the sea was cute!

I received this ebook in exchange for an honest and fair review. This is a nice picture book talking about losing someone or something that is very important to you. The lesson is simple but well written. The illustrations were very nice. This would be a good book for a classroom library.

This is a low budget book and you can tell. The illustrations are fine but the text layout and typeface are cheaply done. The story in itself is a good story about helping kids deal with grief, but the poor art design detracts from the story.

This book was such a beautiful and powerful way of talking to children about loss. I know i’ll be buying it for my niece to deal with the loss of her great grandma, and will definitely be buying a copy for any of my future children to help them understand love doesn’t end with loss.

I’m 27 and i’m tearing up at how beautiful this is, so i can’t even imagine how this would have helped me as a child.
