This is the first novel of Portia MacIntosh I have ever read and I do love a good romance that make my heart all warm and happy.

We follow Sadie in this novel, and I truly loved her. I felt like she was an old friend that I was reconnecting with. Reading about her life and the people around her, made me feel like I was watching a RomCom. With absolutely love when I'm home in a weekend and just want to relax and have fun.

This happens in part because of how the flow of the story was, how it made me laugh and just smile at the cute moments too. Plus, it was kind of visual in a way too. Which made it exciting and enjoyable.

From friendship and romance, to Christmas festivities and fun moments… This book had me going from the very beginning with Sadie's personality, and it kept me interested until the end because of each moment share with the characters.

I absolutely loved the concept of the story and loved the mystery around the 'friend and potential love interest that Sadie never met". Since I read the synopsis I wonder what was going on, and when I was pleasantly surprise by the plot and the development of the romance and the characters.

Overall, it was such a good book, it's just the perfect about of sweetness and fun scenes. It was the perfect story for a relaxing day at home.

This was such a fun read. The whole time I was laughing and smiling from these two characters. The book has a two weeks notice vibe that I absolutely adored!! I got swept away and with the charm and wittiness these characters gave. If you are looking for a fun quirky romance with the touch of some Christmas charm, definitely pick this one up. I will be reading this author again.

This book was really fun and sweet! I enjoyed Sadie and Damian's story, and the fact that it didn't end up being an awkward workplace romance. All of the Christmas traditions were hilarious to read about, and I am so glad that the possible serial killer did not come back into the story after the wedding scene.
I guessed from the beginning that "Adam" really was Damian , but not in a bad way. It was still a fun part of their story. I really loved how Damian truly listened and paid attention to Sadie. And that she had a kind of wacky, weird family but she loved them and made no apologies. That was refreshing.
I would have enjoyed a bit more of an open-door romance here, but there was still great chemistry between the main characters. Overall, a delightful rom-com.

Loved this light office romance🤗

I don't recall reading any Portia Macintosh romcoms previously and now I wonder what I've been missing! This story had all the feels and a thirty-something heroine who's kind but not a pushover. I kept waiting for her to take back a crucial decision she makes so that she won't upset her boss. Sadie surprised me. Her post-it exchange with Adam, her elusive deskmate, was original and a lovely, day-brightening touch.

As for her famous photographer boss Damian, he may be demanding but, as far as I could see, never in a mean way and he proves generous and much more thoughtful than Adam and Sadie's note correspondence would imply.

The holiday celebrations and quirky times with Sadie's family gave Sadie's adventures a delightfully warm feel, right down to her dad's corny dad jokes. I loved the light, optimistic tone, characters and plot from start to finish. An all-around enjoyable read.

Thanks to publisher Boldwood Books and NetGalley for providing an advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

I have read a few books by Portia Macintosh, and this book is set in the location of some of her previous books, Hope Island. It is definitely a Standalone book though.
Hope Island is a tidal island that is very big on Christmas celebrations. This book has more of a festive feel to it than the cover and title would suggest.
This is a nice and easy read, there is plenty of humour and the characters were good. It is a fairly short story and is lighthearted and entertaining.
I found the storyline to be a little predictable, but this did not detract from my enjoyment of reading this book.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for my ARC.

Sadie builds up an office rapport with 'Adam' a guy she job shares with but has never meet. They leave each other post its with messages about how awful her boss Damien is! Damien goes home with Sadie for Christmas and they show their home lives to each other and Sadie sees beyond the 'professional' Damien. A sweet read. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me review this book.

Stuck on You hits the spot for when you need a fun, light read. It is entertaining with beautiful people in beautiful places, creating a great distraction when you need it most.

What I Loved

My favorite part of the book is Christmas in Sadie’s (the main character) hometown. It brought on all the Christmas feels and made me wish my small town celebrated the holiday as exuberantly as hers does. I want to go to a Dickens festival and watch It’s A Wonderful Life in a theater in my Christmas pajamas. It sounds like so much more fun than watching it on the television while distracted by last-minute things that need to get done.

The story takes place in three different settings as Sadie and Damian travel for the holidays. I loved Sadie’s hometown the most- Hope Island, an island formed when high tide rolls in. A town on a tidal island is very intriguing to me, and I wonder if such places genuinely exist. I loved thinking about how careful you would need to be about not getting caught on the wrong side and the millions of ways that could go wrong.

The romance is fun. It is pretty easy to figure out the mysterious Adam but it provided some humorous moments as Sadie tried to figure it out. I love the post-it note correspondence between Adam and Sadie, as it reminds me of the post-it notes my husband puts on my coffee every morning before he goes to work. You can’t dismiss the potential of a well worded post-it note.

The characters are well-developed, albeit rather perfect—Thirty-something, beautiful, with their ideal jobs or on their way to having their perfect jobs. I enjoy flaws in the characters I read, so if this cast of perfect and near-perfect people had been in anything other than this quick, fun read it would have worn on me a bit.

To Read or Not to Read

If you are looking for a quick escape in a world gone wrong, this is the perfect story to do just that.

Another gorgeous romcom from one of my favourite authors, Loved the storyline, loved the childhood references and loved the conclusion. Stuck on You is cute and believable. The two main characters are fab and play off of each other brilliantly. 5 stars :)

Hilarious and well-written book about a PA who is too busy for love... until she falls for her anonymous desk share buddy. I loved this book and finished it in 2 days!

I loved this book in the beginning. It started out really strong, with a very funny beginning. But, unfortunately, the book didn't stay great. As the book went on, there started to be a lot of elements that didn't make a lot of sense. And I found myself losing interesting in the book by the end.

2.5/5 stars

This book started strong and I had really high hopes, but honestly it went off the rails pretty quickly. I did enjoy the budding romance—it was enjoyable to read about them falling in love.

There were a number of things that just didn't really make sense to me:
—I would consider this a Christmas romance but I would not have gotten that from the cover
—Why did they go to the island with the (potential) serial killer? What was the point of that?
—The year is 2020. I understand not wanting to reference the pandemic because that adds a whole new dimension to the story. BUT social distancing was mentioned at one point, which is something never talked about before the pandemic. This seemed out of place.

The two characters finally getting together seemed kind of anticlimactic, but I've felt that way before reading some of her other books.

A sweet and easy Christmas read. I'd love to spend the holiday on her island town with her family! Perfect for anyone who is a fan of the Hallmark channel at Christmastime.

I loved this! The story and plot flowed so easily right from the start and I seemed to fly through the book. I enjoyed seeing it all unfold from Sadies point of view and seeing her realisation of her feelings and thoughts on the situation. At first I wasn’t sure what to make of Damian, I wondered if he was going to be the bad guy but I loved how his character blossomed as he decided to truly show his feelings for Sadie. I suspected about the Adam situation and when Sadie had no reply about meeting up I was very curious if I was right. Damians sense of humour was brilliant and I loved seeing him through Sadies eyes. Christmas with her family was amazing and I almost wished I was there with such a great community spirit.

An excellent light hearted and easy read with real heart and plenty of Christmas spirit.

Such a lovely heartwarming story! A really easy read that you don’t have to think too hard during and can just really get lost in the story

I really enjoyed this. The writing style reminded me of Mhairi Macfarlane, who I love. The characters are utterly lovable, and the Christmas backdrop is perfect for their love story. Slightly predictable, but in the loveliest way.

After reading lots of crime thrillers and historical fiction books recently, I was thrilled to see the latest Portia MacIntosh book on my NetGalley shelf. Thank you to Boldwood Books for the digital review copy - my thoughts are my own and not influenced by the gift.

I'm pleased to say, that after first discovering books by Portia last year, I haven't been disappointed. Stuck on You is another book full of romance and humour, and with another visit to Hope Island over Christmas.

A great cast of characters. Sadie is working for (or pandering to every need of) Damian, a world class photographer. We also meet Sadie's family (who live on Hope Island), Damian's family in Oxfordshire and travel to the wedding of the daughter of a suspected serial killer.

Although I had quickly worked out one of the secrets in the story, it didn't distract from the enjoyment of the story - this is an uplifting read, not a who did it thriller.

A relaxing story with a festive feel, to be enjoyed with a mug of hot chocolate whilst wearing a pair of Elf pyjamas.

| great read, the story of Sadie.
She works for Damien, but is unhappy in her job. One thing she looks to is her post-it conversations with Adam, who she has never met. She gets a new job and needs to resign, but somehow ends up taking Damien home with her for Christmas and sees a different side to him. But they are both keeping secrets so what will happen when they are revealed?

Oh I do love a Portia MacIntosh Book and this was certainly no exception.

I loved the post it note messages between Sadie and Adam, the man she shares a desk with, especially as they both seem to struggle with their demon boss Damian!

And Damian initially is a complete and utter nightmare, and I don't blame Sadie in the slightest for wanting to get a new job.

However things change and from the middle of the book onwards you see a different side to some of the characters, a real friendship start to develop and you also get a family Christmas with a family and community that absolutely adore the holiday and have various festive themed plans for the whole week in the lead up to the main day.

Including Dickens Day which if you are a fan of Dickens would be just wonderful, also a smaller version of Winter Wonderland, a competition to post Christmas cards, a trip to the cinema in pjamas and all manner of other festivities. And as a huge fan of Christmas this really made the book for me, and I was starting to feel quite festive, to the extent that I didn't even blink when I ended up watching the new Grinch film on TV in August!!

I loved the character development in this story and just the whole vibe I got from the book. I was hooked really early on and it was painful tearing myself away from a fabulous story, just to do real life things like work!

It was a joy to read Stuck On You, another top rom-com from this author.

Thank you to Boldwood and Netgalley for this copy which i have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
