This was a such a delightful heart warming read of a enemy’s to lovers type situation between a boss & and an assistant who’s completely realised on for a famous photographer. I can appreciate the first person narrative it wasn’t over done or trying so hard it was great to see Sadie not trying so hard. I found Damians character development quite rushed in last 10% I wished there was more scenes of them changing. But it was a great. Recommend

Sadies boss, the famous photographer Damian Banks is a nightmare. The only thing that is enjoyable about her job is e changing post-it notes in the desk draw for her co-worker, a man she hasn’t ever met yet has a great relationship with.

When Damian has lost all inspiration for an upcoming exhibit, Sadie invites him to her island home for Christmas, to spend the holidays with her family and the locals, who’s crazy Christmas traditions are steeped in history. Only now she has to keep a big secret from him... she has been offered her dream job and in in the new year she will be leaving him. How will he cope without her?

I always enjoy books by their author and this one is brilliant.

Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for access to this arc.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to borrow one of the lines the heroine uses when dumping girlfriends for her boss - It's not you, it's me. This book and I just aren't meant to be together. The start is excruciatingly slow and unfunny. I feel it's meant to make me laugh but it didn't. I also had to keep stopping and rereading sentences and even whole paragraphs to understand what they meant. Often I think an added comma would have made all the difference. Anyway, after reading about the heroine whining about her life and her job for too long, I've had it. DNF.

Stuck on You is a story of finding love where you least expected it.

Sadie studied art and dreamt of becoming an art curator, but, in the meantime, she was the assistant of the famous portrait photographer, Damian Banks.

Instead of learning from his creative process, or basking in his renowned experience, Sadie spent most of her time getting clothes to and from the dry-cleaning or breaking up with his girlfriends.

Her only solace was the post-it notes she exchanged with her co-worker Adam. He was an oasis of sense and humor amidst her chaotic workplace.

There was only a little problem: Sadie and Adam had never met in person.

Sadie is a lovely character. She reminded me a bit of Andrea Sachs (Anne Hathaway) in Devil Wears Prada. Always going the extra mile to do a great job, even when frustrated with the way her life was turning out.

Adam is a fun character and a great post-it writer. He understood Sadie and brought a little lightness and laugh to her crazy workdays.

Damian's artistic and chaotic nature made him a little difficult to work for, but he was a good guy deep inside.

This is my second book by Portia Macintosh, and again I enjoyed her witty dialogues and laugh-out-loud scenes. I loved how she immersed the characters in Christmas cheer.

Stuck on You is a witty and joyful contemporary romance, perfect for reading during the holidays!

I enjoyed this book for the most part. I didn't get into it fully straightaway, I thought it was a slow start and unclear as to who the narrator was in the first chapter. I also had no inkling for awhile as to the part Damian would play as the book progressed, and I think there should have been more clues because I dismissed him initially as being annoying. I had to go back and read the descriptions of him before moving on. The notion of him being a player should be toned down. Also, it's not really addressed as the story goes on. This story really takes off when Sadie and Damian go to Yorkshire together. I was really into the book by that point. I loved the Christmas festivities, and also the photography plotline. I didn't find the wedding that interesting and couldn't wait to get past it. There's lots to like though in this book. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A different sort of love story with a partly expected twist near the end. Sadie is a complex character; she is up to date with social media and rather cynical, at least as far as her work is concerned, but loves a really old-fashioned family Christmas. Damian is a workaholic photographer who seems to have lost his mojo and his ability to cope with his personal life. Escapist fun.

Funny book but I didn't care for the romance.

Sadie has the horrible job of being the personal assistant to Damian Banks, a photography going through a creative block. The book opens with Sadie being sent to dump his girlfriend. After going with him to a supposed killer's daughter's wedding on a deserted island, she decides to apply for another job. Feeling sorry for him, she invites him to her family's Christmas celebration.

There is a thing with her talking to a guy through post-it notes but there isn't enough of it. By the time the book opens up, she already developed an interest in the guy.

Her romance is with her boss. Especially since she's his PA, the power imbalance is horrible. They are nice to each other but I rather they stayed as just friends. But I was surprised that regardless of not liking the romance, I still enjoyed the book. It helped that it's a fun book. They are so many funny people and situations that I zoomed through this book with a light heart. No gritting teeth from me.

My favorite part of this book was how Sadie's family and whole town take Christmas so seriously. So much so that I'm considering making my own Christmas Week traditions!

As for the rest of the story, Sadie works for famous artist Damian Banks and shares a desk with the mysterious Adam. On her first day, she finds a post it note from Adam, she replies, and their cute back and forth gives her a reprieve from the insanity that is Damian's life.

This book was lighthearted, funny, feel good book that should make it onto your Christmas reading list for sure!

This was my first time reading a book by Portia MacIntosh and I was not disappointed!

I love a good chick lit book when I just want to forget about my own lack of love life. This book had comedic moments, a hint of murder mystery, slow burn romance and so much more!

It's easy to put down so you can do other things (even if you don't want to), and pick up later without forgetting where you were in the plot.

5/5 stars, and I can't wait to read something else by Portia MacIntosh!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. All the characters were brilliantly written and a total joy to read from start to end. I recently finished The Plus One Pact by this author and this story was just as good.
If I could award more than 5 stars I would. The humour and storyline were brilliant and I could not fault the story in any way. It is nice in these very depressing times to lose yourself in a fabulous book that transports you away for a few hours and this was definitely one of those for me, I did not want to finish it.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read a preview copy of this book.

It is 5 stars from me, a wonderful story - very highly recommended!

This was exactly the kind of book I wanted and needed to read after a particularly tough work week. It didn't take a lot of effort and I got lost in the story and characters quickly.

Sadie is a northern girl who moved to London to work for the famous photographer Damien Banks. After a year of being his assistant and having to do everything from run his errands to breaking up with his girlfriends (!), Sadie wants out. This isn't the art job she was hoping for. She shares a desk at work with Adam. When she's not in the office, he is. They start leaving each other secret post-it notes in the desk drawer. Adam becomes Sadie's confidant and her only friend in an otherwise unfriendly office. Could little post it notes lead to romance?

It's charming, it's romantic and thoroughly enjoyable.

A delight! This book was just the escape that I want from romance. While I found the premise a little difficult to believe at first, I found the characters and story line so charming that I found myself wrapped up in the story. The visit to the home town and Christmas scenes were romantic perfection.

After reading many heavy books, I was absolutely in need of a cute read. Stuck on you definitely delivered on its promise of exactly that !

I loved this book from page 1 till the end. Sadie is a very likeable character, and Damian is neither too cliché, nor too unconventionnal, which made reading about them quite enjoyable. Then we have Adam, the mysterious guy who exchanges Post-it notes with Sadie, whom he is sharing a desk with. Him and Sadie share a great bond, and it's an aspect of the story I liked reading. I enjoyed seeing those little moments of Sadie's day when she sees those notes that brighten her day. It's like her own little secret garden at work, and reading about this made me all fuzzy !

Mostly, what I liked about this book is the plot. In this type of book, it's very important to set the right pace, and keep the reader entertained. Portia MacIntosh managed to do that. You don't read Christmas romances for the adventures they go in, but to see a beautiful relationship blossom slowly. And we get it here ! The way Damian and Sadie interact is so cute, and seeing them both work and relax together was somehow soothing. I could have read on forever.

Actually, that's the only flaw of the book. I wanted more. I wanted to read more about Sadie, Adam and Damian, the places they go to, etc. Making the book longer would also have done a favor to the plot, as I thought that Damian's character development is REALLY fast. He goes from 0% to a 100% in a blur, and I could have enjoyed reading more about his development, the way his mind works, etc.

Overall, that was such a cute and quick read ! It's perfect if you want to feel all fluffly and cozy while snuggling under a blanket. Even in summer !

This was my first book by Portia MacIntosh, and I'm so glad the cover sucked me in! If you're in the mood for a Christmas-y fun and light romance, this is the book for you. Also, if you love Christmas Hallmark movies.

Sadie has an art history degree but she's working for famous photographer Damien Banks, who basically relies on her for everything other than what she went to school for. Bonding with a coworker she's never met through post-its, the books takes us through Sadie's journey of dealing with a very demanding boss, her discontent with her situation, and her split decision to take Damien home to her family at Christmastime.

I loved the character of Sadie - she's funny, warm, and caring while knowing what she wants to do in life. She handles her boss with humor rather than resentment, and it shows us the best way to handle a not-so-great situation. Damien actually really grew on me, and I loved how the book ended. But the best part of this story was the Christmas traditions of Sadie's family! I absolutely LOVED all the Christmas in this book. I will definitely be re-reading this one around Christmas for that Christmas-y feeling.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the chance to review this advanced reading copy!

Sadie, never had time to find love. Her life’s to busy being a PA for famous artist Damian Banks.

From arranging exhibitions to organising his dry cleaning and not to mention dumping his never ending stream of girlfriends.

But, then she strikes up this unusual friendship with the person she shares her her desk with. Someone who she sees as a confidante and possibly a new potential love interest. The only downside is, she’s never actually seen him. Does he exist????

With the festive season fast approaching, will Sadie finally put herself first and find what she’s been searching for? Or will she stick to what’s she’s been doing for Damian??

Stuck on You was my first Portia MacIntosh read, but it won’t be my last. (How did I go so long without reading a Portia MacIntosh?)

When she lands a job assisting the great Damian Banks, photographer extraordinaire, Sadie Kirke thinks she's on her way to having the art career she’s dreamed of...until she realizes that being Damian’s assistant means she’ll be running errands instead of running art exhibitions. The notes (and chocolate surprises) from her desk share buddy, Adam, and the promise of a new job are the two things that keep her sane. But when it comes to leaving Damian behind, things aren’t quite as easy as Sadie expected.

Sure, the story is a bit predictable and the Post-It exchanges didn’t play as much of a part as I expected/hoped, but I could wax poetic about the things I loved in this book. Fast-paced, whip-smart, humorous—some exchanges were so hilarious that I actually laughed out loud, which is a rare occurrence for me. Dad jokes galore. Christmas. Crime documentaries. Dickens and Borat. It’s got everything.

The casual references to cultural touchstones of today, like Tiger King and Animal Crossing, made this book feel like it beats with the pulse of today’s cultural zeitgeist (minus the whole pandemic). Not to mention that this book feels particularly special to me because I was an art history major myself and have an appreciation for Sadie's career choice.

This may just be a new favorite of mine, and would appeal to other fans of Sally Thorne’s The Hating Game, too. The perfect Christmas read for 2020!

A Story of Life, Love with a Mix of Humour... Great Feel good Read ❣️

Sadie works for famous artist Damien Banks, as part of her job he has her carrying out all sorts of jobs, including those non business tasks, I.e. ending all short term relationships for him/laundry... the list goes on.

On her days in the office, Sadie gets to communicating with her hot desk share Adam... they've never met but the only thing keeping Sadie sane in her job. With all her hours working and answering Damiens calls whatever the time, when will Sadie have time to find her true love?.. With Christmas nearly here, can this break give her the chance to find love??

Stuck On You is a great, feel good book, characters are very relatable. A definite should read, look forward to reading more from Portia MacIntosh.
