Whilst I got this book to read to my son, even though it was about what jobs the little girl would like when she grows up, he understood the different jobs available to anyone.

Easy to follow, both story and illustrations, was nice to sit and read with my young son.

This review is of an ARC sent to me by NetGalley in return for a honest review.

I really liked this little alphabet board book. I enjoyed that it was a career alphabet book that included more unusual career options. I liked that it included arts careers, highly trained careers, as well as careers in trade. I also liked that there was so much diversity in the people represented on the page. Overall, one of the better alphabet books that I've read!

This book was a hit with my young daycare kids. The illustrations caught their attention and the flow of the words kept them intrigued. I enjoyed reading this book as much as they enjoyed something new and fun. Highly recommend.

A parent that wants to open all the possibilities for their children. You can be Quantitative Analyst and a Robotics Engineer. With all cultures and colors and with kindness as the motivator to be all that you want to be, this book is just as much for the parents as their children.

A Special Thank you to Quarto Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest revie

Adorable book! This really opened up my mind & my daughter’s mind to future careers. It’s silly but when we discuss what she wants to be when she grows up I often run out of suggestions for her. This book is full of modern careers- how perfect! I’d adapt this book for Pre-K& K level kids. My daughter asked me so many questions as we read this. Loved how it opened up conversation with her.

Diverse Jobs/Hobbies and People

This is a cute, simple ABC book that introduces children to a variety of jobs and hobbies, from astronomer to zookeeper. Each page has the letter of the alphabet, the word, a single sentence describing just a little of what the job is about, and figures that depict it. The author and illustrator have been very careful to show diverse people of different races, ethnicities, and religions. They’ve also taken great care to not stereotype by gender (though you will see some traditional pairings). You will see women/girls as game designers, robotics engineers, and astronomers while men/boys are shown as costume or floral designers. They also depict differently-abled children, like ones in wheelchairs or with the types of crutches used by those who need to use them all the time, not just because of injury. The illustrations are simple but colorful. The book ends by suggesting that the child or children share what other things they can dream up that they can do when they get older—a spin on the classic “what do you want to be when you grow up” question that adults like to ask kids.

I thought that this was a lovely book and I loved the images used!

The book was set out really well and I loved the little section that was given to each role as the book went through the alphabet. I loved it was gender neutral too – my daughter is three and she has picked two careers she wants so far – Pilot or Doctor (we best get saving!) so I liked that they were not just limited in this book to male/female orientated roles!

A couple of the job titles were a little complex for the target age range I think personally with it being ultimately an “ABC” book but overall it is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended!

Colorful and bright, this is a lovely book of aspirational occupations for children to read. The illustrations are eye-catching and attractive. I especially love the inclusivity of the drawings, including people of different gender, race, religion and ability. It is likely that some of the jobs mentioned will not be familiar to the small children to whom I imagine the book is aimed; however with guidance they could be explained during reading.

This is a very cute children's board book of ABC. This one will share with the child all the things they can grow up to be based on the alphabet. Some of the jobs are a little advanced for small children, but parents can use this as a dialog to share with the child what some of these careers really are. Some careers are familiar like Dentist or Landscape Architect but others like Quantitative Analyst might need to be explained. The illustrations are very colorful and cute to go along with the letter career and write up. I think inquisitive children will really enjoy this little book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read and review.

This is such a great book for may reasons! There are some pretty cool jobs listed - and not just traditional ones (teacher, doctor, lawyer). I adore the illustrations and the representations of diversity and gender. I can totally see many young kids loving this book and having some really awesome discussions when you ask them 'What do you want to be?"

Thanks to netgalley I was lucky enough to read a pre released copy of this book. I love the idea of an ABC of careers. Some of the career choices are a little unexpected, (a robot engineer) but my little one loved it and keeps asking to read it again and again. I love that in the illustrations the dentist and surgeon are both female. Can't wait to buy this when it's released.

This is a wonderful book that explores different career paths littles can choose one day. My 3 yr old (and myself) were pleased to see beekeeper included, as his grandfather (my dad) is a beekeeper. I feel like we've read books like this and what sets this one apart is how diverse the careers are. For instance, there are multiple technology based professions - UX Designer, robotics engineer, quantivtive analyst, etc - and art based careers - landscape architect, illustrator, etc. I find it very important for littles to know that art is important and a valid option for a career, because I was brought up being told it wasn't. I found the pictures to be pleasing. They're very colorful and geometric. They grabbed and held my attention. Anecdotes from my 3 yr old: "What great ideas! I want to drive an ice cream truck when I'm older!"

This is adorable and beautifully illustrated. I loved the selection of careers- widely varied between older and newer careers. The people pictured are wonderfully inclusive.

My daughter and I read this book a few times and she really enjoyed looking at the bright, colourful pictures. It is a book that I will read over again with her as she gets older and I am sure she will understand it more as she grows.

The book is an A-Z of different careers that one can choose when they grow up and the book shows each career name and a small description of what each career involves, in relation to each letter of the alphabet. For example, for the letter B the book lists Beekeeper as the career.

This would be a great book for use in any educational setting.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a fantastic book to read to young children. There is only one sentence per page, but it does a great job of including varying careers. Careers that usually don’t show up in book for kids. Another plus for this book is the diversity of race, ethnicities, disabilities, etc that are shown for the careers.

This delightfully and inclusively illustrated alphabet book encourages children to think big.  There are so many things that they can dream of, everything from A's Astronaut to C's Costume Designer to G's Game Developer to L's Landscape Architect and many more until Z's Zookeeper.  This is a great addition for an alphabet book collection.  It would make an excellent baby gift.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.

This book teaches children their ABC alongside possible careers they may wish to pursue based on their interests. The illustrations are bold, vibrant and eye-catching for children. My 4 year old really enjoyed trying to guess what the job may be based on the pictures. The possible careers are very varied and occasionally quite ‘niche’ and are all accompanied with a sentence explaining the job. I have to admit that “Quantitive Analyst’ completely went over the head of my daughter and she had very little interest in it. The overall message of the book - that children can choose to be anything they want to be - is lovely and important.

My 5 year old LOVES this book. Great way to both learn ABC’s and use the imagination for “what do I want to be when I grow up”. Highly recommend for both parents and teachers alike.
