First time reading something from this author and I was pleasantly surprised. Something happened to Zoe on her wedding day but she has no recollection. Now, ten years later she is planning her ten year anniversary party and everything is revealed in shocking detail what really happened that day. Reminded me of a lifetime movie but with more substance. Definitely will look into reading more from Shalini Boland.
Thanks Netgalley and Bookouture publishing for an ARC.

This book was true to the title. It was hard to put down and one of the best psychological thrillers I’ve read in awhile. The Wife was an incredible roller coaster of who did it. The ending was quite a shocker. I cannot wait to read more books by Shalini Boland.

This book follows a married couple planning their 10 year anniversary. On the day of the Wedding, Zoe fainted. Not much was said about it, just it was jitters, but now things may not be as they seem!

I was drawn in by the plot of this book! It sounded like such a good thriller that I couldn’t put down! I was so pleasantly surprised! It was so easy to read and I kept wanting to read more!

When the twist came I was IN SHOCK! a fab thriller and would totally recommend!

What a thrill ride! Edge of your seat grab on and hold tight and don't let go kind of read! I really enjoyed this book. When I first started reading I was thinking where is the thrill? Well keep reading it won't take long to reach it. Author did a fabulous job keeping my interest and yes, I liked all the characters in the story. It was one of those stories "I did not SEE that coming"!! And I cheered when the truth finally came out.. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC..

Another great edge of your seat thriller from Shalini Boland! She never disappoints. In her latest twisty tale we follow Zoe, past and present, as she struggles to unravel the cause of the overwhelming sense of unease she feels around every corner. So many unanswered questions fill her mind when she thinks about her sister’s whereabouts and the puzzling events of her own wedding day. Why did she faint? Is her husband the man of her dreams, or is he hiding dark secrets? This is a definite page turner with twists and turns throughout the story. Five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC.

First time reading this author and it won't be my last. I really enjoyed this book. Great characters and great plot. I read this in one day, I just couldn't wait to see what happened next. Definitely didn't see that ending coming!

I dont think this is the best book by Shalini Boland, nevertheless it is still a good, entertaining read. I thought all of the characters were well developed and the story itself was written very well, it just isn't as gritty as her usual books.

Zoe fainted on her wedding day, but when she woke up, she had no recollection of how or why it happened.
Now, years later, as she prepares to celebrate her 10th wedding anniversary, weird things start happening. Will she finally learn what happened on what supposed to have been the happiest day of her life?

I have previously read and enjoyed The Millionaire's Wife, so I was excited to be approved for this ARC.
This book was exactly what I was expecting; a gripping and a fast-paced read.
I found it a bit confusing when the story was switching timelines, and the ending seemed a bit predictable but other than that, I truly enjoyed it.
It was a quick, entertaining read, and I will definitely be reaching for more books from the author.

This was a slow burn drama that I really enjoyed. The characters were great, and the plot was definitely interesting. I read this book in some sitting, I couldn't put it down!

Thank you to the publisher for providing me with a copy of this E-book to review via Netgalley.

So I found this book to be good but nothing spectacular! It was very fast paced but I just didn’t find it very suspenseful and the twist wasn’t all that shocking. Zoe is about to celebrate her 10 year wedding anniversary with husband Toby but she’s still uneasy about a few things from her wedding day. She fainted the day of her wedding and awoke with no memory of the hour or so before it happened. During her anniversary party she starts to have some flashbacks about what happened that day until her husband tells her the truth. But is he being completely honest?? Would she really do something that horrible?

I liked this book, but it didn’t really wow me.. I’ve always enjoyed bolands books but this didn’t stand out. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a free copy in exchange for review.

I have followed this author ever since I read the amazing The Best Friend. I found this book similar in some ways to The Best Friend.

I absolutely loved this book. I had no clue where the story was heading and I thought the characterisation was brilliant. One particular character turned out to be totally different in nature to what we were initially led to believe and I really didn't see this coming.
I particularly liked Zoe's dad who is very similar in character to my own dad.. I actually visualised him as my dad as I read the book .
Thank you to the publisher for giving me the chance to read this early copy by this amazing author

The Wife is a domestic thriller that tells the story of Zoe, a girl who fainted on her wedding day, hit her head, and when she woke up couldn’t remember anything that happened before she fell. Zoe can’t shake this feeling, even ten years later, that there’s something important that she’s not remembering.

This novel is set in a then-and-now themed format. I thought the writing was excellent, and even with the time switches it was very easy to follow! The story flowed very well and had great pace. The ending was something I never could have predicted! It was a great twist.

Unfortunately, I do not think this book was as thrilling as I would have liked, but the quality of the book was overall good. It did take me a while to get through; it wasn’t as “unputdownable” as I would have liked. I didn’t find Zoe, or any of the characters, to be particularly relatable. I also found the endings to be a bit far-fetched.

The plot unfolds in 2 phases. One plot covers events during and after the wedding day. The other plot unfolds after 10 years. What affect does single event have on your life??

The writing is good. But the plot is somewhat a rehash of all kinds of domestic thrillers. Except that everything is good.

This is the first novel I’ve read by Shalini Boland, and I am so impressed! Every chance I got, I was sneaking in a few pages of this thrilling book.

Switching back and forth from the past- 18 years ago, before Zoe met her husband to be, Toby, - a little nearer to present day, the wedding day, 10 years ago - and the present, in which Zoe and Toby will celebrate 10 years of marriage, this book is gripping.

18 years ago- Zoe’s mum died when she was very young, leaving her to care for her troubled little sister, Dina, along with her emotionally distant father. Zoe is working in a hair salon when someone makes her a wonderful job offer, but her “friend,” Cassie, snatches it from her.

10 years ago- On Toby and Zoe’s wedding day, Zoe faints and hits her head on the table. There’s much about that day that she can’t remember, and it nags at her as though she’s forgotten something important.

Present- Suddenly, Madeleine, Zoe’s sister-in-law, begins ignoring her, which is quite out of place as they are usually good friends. Before she knows it, she is on the outs with most of her friend group. Nobody will look at her or talk to her, but Zoe doesn’t know what she’s done wrong.

Based on the description, it might sound more like a drama than something truly terrifying. But it was thrilling and gripped my attention in a way not many books do. Every time I thought I had the story nailed down, I was wrong and it veered in a different direction.

The characters may have lacked a little development, but Ms. Boland more than made up for it in description. I totally want to visit England for a gloomy day now, but I’m pretty thankful I wasn’t married anywhere like that - and that I remember my wedding day. :)

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the free arc in exchange for an honest review! I can’t wait to read more from Shalini Boland!

The Wife by Shalini Boland is another great read from this amazing author. Zoe got married 10 years ago and fainted on her wedding day. Not sure is planning her 10th wedding anniversary with a party. As the party approaches she starts getting ignited by friends and brushed off by her husband. The plot twists comes to an exciting end the day of the party. Great read - highly recommend!

Shalini Boland never disappoints! The Wife had me gripped from the very first page and I just couldn’t stop reading. Even waking up in the middle of the night, I would grab my iPad and read a few chapters. I felt Zoe’s anguish in my soul as she tries to figure out why her friends are avoiding her. I loved that I couldn’t quite figure out each character and I really loved the shocking twists at the end! Definite 5 stars (as usual) and I highly recommend this one!

Huge thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for allowing me the privilege of reading this book in advance!

Shalini Boland knocks it out of the park again. I was very interested in this novel because I found that the plot sounded like nothing I've ever read before. A woman fainting on her wedding day for an unknown reason ten years ago. Then she decides to try to dig a little deeper and find out what actually happened that day and what the reason is for her memory loss.I really liked how the book jumped back and forth between what happened to Zoe leading up to and on the wedding day, but is also jumped to her life now in the present where her sister is missing. It was really interesting to get the different times laid out for the reader and it also let the reader try to figure out what happened before the author explained, which I always love doing in a novel. I found the time jumps very well laid out and easy to distinguish as a reader and I also found that the characters were very strongly written. I also found this book to be absolutely compelling and I wasn't able to put it down as soon as I started reading, I just had to figure out what happened to our main character. There were so many twists that the reader put us through that it was so much fun to try to figure out the next one Great read and I'm so glad that I got the chance to check it out. This book is impossible to put down once you start because every time you think you know what is going on the author throws another huge plot twist your way. I loved this book it was everything a good thriller should be and more. Check out this book because it is one that will be talked about for ages. I cannot say enough good things about this book it is one that I cannot wait to see on shelves to add to my collection. Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC

📚BOOK REVIEW📚

THE WIFE by
Shalini Boland

I did enjoy this one as a read, it was engaging and the story ambled along nicely... Its just that when the story unravelled to finding out what had gone on previously and then to what would happen next - it all went rather far fetched and unbelievable.
It unfortunately started to remind me of the channel 5 afternoon movie's (sorry 🤭) BUT yknow, if you like those then I'm sure you'll love this book 👍👍
Overall - Good as a Domestic Family Drama and well written but just went a bit cheese factor towards the end

⭐⭐⭐

This was a very readable twisted domestic family drama/thriller with a host of relatable characters.

The story switches between the past Zoe's wedding day and the present date leading up to the celebration of her tenth wedding anniversary.

Zoe's fairy tale wedding day didn't go to plan as the beginning of the story sees her coming round from a "Fainting Episode" as she is preparing for the ceremony the only issue is Zoe is plagued with amnesia and can't remember what happened directly before she fainted.and a succession of suspicious events makes her start to question everything she thought she knew.

They say the mind tries to protect us from traumatic events is this the case for Zoe?
