Oops I’ve already read this one! Here’s my previous review -

I absolutely loved Unfollow Me! As someone who spends a lot of time on social media following influencers and their lives it made me take a good look at myself.

Meet mummy blogger Violet (or don’t actually the book isn’t from her perspective) and her amazing life, three kids, gorgeous husband and a huge internet following but when she goes missing and her social media is shut down how will her fans react?

The characters are all so unlikable and I love it! Captivating writing and I was hooked from the start.
A strong 5 out of 5.

Unfollow me by Charlotte Duckworth is a story of social media obsession.
When Violet Young, a succesful mummy-vlogger suddenly dissapears from her online life her followers go crazy.
Their life falls apart, the influence that the “influencer” have over their life is shocking. What has happened to their role model? GoMamas won't rest until they find out the truth.

The whole story is just hillarious. It's not your usual thriller. It's definitely shocking and scary in a way. It shows how dangerous is baring your life online, you can't be sure if your followers don't follow you in the real life.
I love the whole idea of GoMamas forum is great move! I was laughing hysterically for the best part of the book especially that I'm not a stranger to all the TTC related abbreviation. As a person how endures 2WW every month and POAS just as often. Is it TMI? I'll better end it here before I process to describe all the details of baby dancing.
“Unfollow me” is written from three points of view: insta husband Henry and two of the Violet devoted followers. The chapters are kept short, which in my opinion is a good thing.

It's really fast paced and unputdownable. I enjoyed every second of it. It's hands down one of the best book I've ever read.

Contemporary take on the impact of different perceptions and misconceptions leading to fundamental questions about what is real. I think having multiple narrators added to this sense of things not always being what they seem. I really enjoyed this modern take on the mystery of a person who seems to suddenly just disappears.

Firstly a big thank you to the publishers for my copy to read on netgalley. I absolutely loved her debut so couldnt wait to read this.

This is a culturally relevant book about social media and the good bad and ugly surrounding it.

Its written from different narratives to capute many sides of the story for the reader. It is dark and haunting but relatable. As humans we think the grass is greener and that perfect instagram post is 100 accurate.

Thought provoking excellently written and plotted. It is tense and as the pages turn the truth is revealed.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

The main premise of this story is that Violet is a mummy vlogger on You Tube. One day this successful vlogger just disappears off the internet. There is a lot of speculation as to why Violet has disappeared and why.

This book was told from 3 points of view. Henry who is Violet’s husband, Lilly who is a struggling single mum & Yvonne who is a successful photographer married to a younger man who is a personal trainer. Yvonne and her husband are having fertility issues. The book starts with someone who is sending Violet nasty messages was a good strong start but it quickly got repetitive. I was actually a bit puzzled as to why these people cared so much as to what had happened to this social media star. It does all come together in the end. The story just wasn’t what I was expecting it to be.

I went into this thinking it would be a thriller/mystery, but it's much more of a drama.

It's well written and had an interesting plot. I enjoyed reading this one, and definitely recommend it.

While definitely not a mystery or even much of a thriller this is a well timed, easy summer read.
Admittedly none the characters are in any way likeable but the plot still drew me in enough to keep me interested though I would have liked to know what happened with Lily and Luke.
Ultimately this is a story of the sad, superficial selfish way that so many of us live, obsessed with social media, often without even realising.

This is a new author to me but proved to be an exciting read.

Violet Young is a mother of three young children and wife to a successful husband. Violet is also a very successful vlogger with a million subscribers on YouTube who tune in daily to watch her everyday life unfold. But everything changes when suddenly she disappears from the online world and all social media is deleted. What has happened to Violet?, is she fed up of sharing her life on the net or is there something more sinister a foot. No explanation is offered and her fans want to know the truth behind her disappearance. 

This was an enjoyable read and plan to look out for more of this authors books.

interesting take on the "social media and influencers" of the world. The plot was well woven around this although I did feel as if I had heard it before. Worth a read though.

Unfollow Me is one of those books that you can't put down. It's so relevant that it's scary and is so fast paced you feel breathless by the end because of all the plot twists. Fantastic read. Especially if you are an avid social media user.

I rated “unfollow me” 5 Goodreads stars mainly because of the characters - I liked and I hated them, I sympathised and I was outraged by them, they disappointed and surprised me, they felt real. The story was also pretty realistic and contemporary with so many mommy bloggers around nowadays.
I loved the way the book was structured into short chapters written from the point of view of 3 different chapters (if we don’t count the very last one narrated by Violet, the mommy blogger herself). This made the story fast-paced, allowing the reader to better understand each one of the characters.
I didn’t expect it to, but the story offers many twists that I did not see coming which made it even better.

This book feels relevant given the prevalence of social media these days and how much of people's lives are accessible in this medium. This book is one which uses the multiple perspectives approach, I would overall describe this book as an entertaining, easy read, but not particularly exciting or pacey.

I thought this book was an excellent read. Gripping from the outset with believable characters with flaws that everyone will recognise.
Very clever plot which also captures the current zeitgiest for volgging and obsessive fans that this type of activity can bring. Putting your life and the lives of your children and husband out there for the world to see can bring problems as shown only too clearly in this book.
A great read that deserves to be a best seller - I can imagine that it would get word of mouth and is a perfect holiday read.

I got a bit confused at the beginning with who was who in the world of "people who obsessively follow Violet" but once I got further into the book the individual experiences unfolded enough to allow me to distinguish between the various followers.
I found the whole premise of people obsessively following an internet personality very odd- not a world I am part of- but non the less compulsive to read about. The value the individual women place on Violet and her broadcasts leads to a number of followers turning amateur detective to try and find out why she has disappeared so completely overnight.
Plenty of red herrings with the emails from a not-so admiring fan and a bit of wandering up the garden path led to an unexpected conclusion that tied the story up very nicely.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit however it never really fully grabbed me. What I did like about it was that the plot was centered around a missing vlogger, which felt like a modern fresh idea, one which I haven't read about before in this genre. I also liked the alternating chapters between characters and blog posts. The plot unravelled at a good steady pace too.
So overall, it's an easy, quite light read which is enjoyable but not amazing.

Good read, unique from anything I’ve read prior to this. This has been a book filled with a variety of characters but has been missing something.

Violet Young is a blogger who updates daily on her perfect life, her fabulous husband, wonderful children and amazing house. Then one day she just stops and disappears from social media and then a search for Violet begins. It is quite an engaging book but has some very slow bits where I got bored reading. I think overall it’s quite an average book in this genre.

You can’t stop watching her.

With three female narratives, this one slowly ramps up the creep factor page by page building to a shattering finale.

With darkly commical one liners this clever, timely thriller about obsession reminded me of A Simple Favour.
