***THANK YOU TO NetGalley FOR MY ADVANCED REVIEW COPY. ALL OPINIONS AND THOUGHTS ARE MY OWN***

Loved, loved, loved this book! This series gets better and better with each book and this is by far my favorite one. It has mystery, suspense, sexiness, love… everything! Like the previous two books, I also enjoyed being able to look up the various works of art referenced in each chapter. Tiffany put together a wonderfully seamless story that I won’t soon forget. .

The Pearl starts with Arthur's POV as he meets Regan and agrees to her terms of their relationship. At the beginning, their attraction isn’t very believable. But as they spend more time together, their relationship changes and they grow closer. We get to learn more about both Arthur’s and Regan’s pasts and the effect that has on their liaison. There is both kink as well as a paranormal element to the story. Somehow or other they manage to find their HEA. This can be read as a stand-alone novel and is not dependent on knowing what happened in the two previous books in this series.

Hot hot hot! Melted kindle for sure. Darn I forgot how hot Ms Reisz makes it between her characters. This had no head games and as a flat out great story, of finding your way after detouring off the right path. Malcolm and is wicked ghost manipulating was at it again. I usually don’t get into dominant women, but she wasn’t really. She let him take charge she just called upon him when she wanted and he had to put out! Regan was so complex and her struggles were very relatable. I like how she rose up from her hate and let herself live the life she always wanted. Again very hot stuff between her and Arthur. Did I say hot? I think I meant volcanic inferno! Great read!

✨The Pearl✨

Thank you to netgalley, the publisher and the author for the e-arc

Summary: When Lord Arthur Godwick learns his younger brother is up to his bollocks in debt to Regan Ferry, owner of The Pearl Hotel, he agrees to work off the tab…in her bed. Soon the handsome but troubled Arthur discovers he’s a pawn in an erotic game of revenge—and nothing, including his lover, is what it seems.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Review: The Pearl is my first glimpse at this authors work and I wasn’t disappointed. An easy, steamy and mysterious read from the first page. It’s a fine line maintaining a smut:plot ratio and sometimes hard to find a book that delivers on both fronts but The Pearl was perfectly balanced in my opinion. Utterly unique and an interesting read, can’t wait to read more from this author!

I loved this installment of The Godwicks series. Arthur and Regan's love story is satisfyingly different from the first two Godwick books, and yet follows the family's debauched reputation in its own way. I read it in a night the first time, and have re-read it more than once since.

It's no secret among my friends and colleagues that I'm pretty picky when it comes to erotica, and Tiffany Reisz is one of my auto-buy authors in this category because no matter what she's writing, she almost never disappoints. Her legendary Original Sinners series is one of the all-time classics in the genre, but her range also includes category contemporaries, women's fiction, and books like The Red, The Rose, and now The Pearl--as well as her novella "The Headmaster", one of my personal favorites--which incorporate historical and paranormal/fantasy elements. I really enjoy the originality of this particular series in general, and The Pearl was an especially fun read (not least because I love older woman/younger man and/or dominant woman/submissive man pairings, but that was just a bonus since as always her writing is so intelligent and characters so memorable that she usually can make even things I wouldn't normally be into work.) Thanks so much to the author and 8th Circle for the chance to read a few weeks early!

This is the 3rd book in the Godwick series. However, The Pearl can be read as a stand-alone book. I enjoyed the descriptions of the art throughout the book. I found myself cheering for the main characters: Arthur and Regan. With that, I wish there had been more interactions between Arthur and his brother Charlie as he was an important character. Here's to hoping that Charlie will have his own book soon!

I really enjoyed this installment of the Godwicks series! It’s a bit of a departure from the previous books. It felt the most like an erotic romance and it’s much angstier than I was expecting. Regan in particular has some BAGGAGE and it was honestly wonderful to see the emotional turn this book takes (for an angst reader like me, anyway). Depending on why you come to this series, you may or may not agree with me. The Pearl definitely doesn’t have the same lighthearted approach as the previous books. What we get instead is some very intriguing, enigmatic characters that I really wanted to know more about. Regan is the standout here; Arthur is more the sweet man who gets to support her as she evolves. Plus there’s plenty of ridiculous and hot sex scenes. Obvs. I think this might be my favorite of the series.

Though The Pearl could work as a stand-alone, I think readers will get more out of it by reading at least The Rose first!

CW: implied sexual trauma in character’s past, cancer, loss of parent, infertility

Lord Arthur Godwick would do anything for his family. When his brother got into a mess he couldn’t escape from, Arthur saved him by making an unconventional deal with Lady Regan Ferry, the owner of The Pearl. But what is supposed to be a simple exchange, might uncover things within them that neither of them expected.

The Godwicks are back, and this time around it’s the first son’s turn. I liked how Arthur was very responsible for his age but still bratty enough to make him interesting. Regan’s philosophy in life might sound sad, but I liked how she took matters into her own hands.

Story-wise, this one was mild in terms of both plot and eroticism compared to the previous books. I also felt the characters needed more chemistry. My favorite aspect of the book is the characters' sexual dynamic and of course, the “pearl scenes”.

The Pearl is a story of sexual rediscovery. It would appeal to readers looking for an Erotica with Paranormal elements with art world influence.

I"ve read most of Tiffany Reisz's books and everyone seems to outshine the last. It makes no sense to even have a favorite anymore because she consistently seems to outdo herself. The Pearl is no exception. Arthur and Regan are an amazing pair and the side stories are written to perfection with no stone left unturned. I can't say more without giving it away. However, this is another amazing story and I can't wait until the next one.

You know what you're getting if you've read Tiffany Reisz before, and The Pearl delivers on all the sexiness and shocks you come to expect.

I love that Reisz doesn't skimp on developing the characters. Arthur and Regan were interesting and witty, and I loved their connection (maybe a bit too connected, as we find out in the end).

The thread in this series is the old, dirty, deviant, and utterly delicious ghost/spirit of Lord Malcolm, who you "meet" in the first book. He's up to more antics and I can't wait to see what happens next.

I love the references to classical art work, really brings these books up a notch.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for a copy of this book to review, all opinions are my own and freely given.

I would like to thank #8thCirclePress for sending me an #ARC of #ThePearl by #TiffanyReisz via #NetGalley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

The Pearl is the third book in Tiffany Reisz's Godwick's series, and this one centers around Arthur Godwick, heir to the Godwick title, and first born son to The Red's Mona and Spencer, and brother to The Rose's Lia Godwick. When Arthur finds out his younger brother is in debt to the famous Pearl hotel, Arthur offers to help his brother out of it. He had no idea when he made the offer to the beautiful Regan Ferry, that she would want 10 nights with him to work off the debt. Neither of them were expecting what those nights would lead to ...

My first impression of The Pearl, was surprise. The Red is incredibly erotic, with very little, to no, romance. The Rose is also very erotic, but with romance as well, as Lia and August end up falling in love. The Pearl is tame in regards to Tiffany Reisz's work. There is an element of romance, which I appreciated, and a plot that I found interesting. Were there things in this book that bordered on ridiculous? Sure! But that's the magic of these books. There is an element of supernatural about them, that makes them stand out. I think I could have done without the epilogue, as it had very little to do with Arthur and Regan, but all in all, it ties in with the series, and left me wondering ... will there be more? It felt like an ending to me, but who knows?

I think Arthur is my favorite of the Godwick's. He is humble, honest, kind, and a bit of a romantic. Throw in the hot sex, and he is kind of perfect. Regan took a while to warm up to, but once I did, and learned more about her, I also really liked her. Without giving anything away, I loved how accepting both character's were of each other. By the end, I was happy for these two characters.

The Pearl is a nice tie in with the other Godwick books. Tame compared to the last two, but definitely not any less exciting. If you enjoyed the last two books in this series, you will enjoy Arthur's story.

This is actually my first time reading a book written by Tiffany Reisz that isn’t connected to her Original Sinners series. I am aware that this is the third book in The Godwicks series but it is written perfectly to be read as a standalone. And before you all shout at me for not reading The Red and The Rose before now, I will be rectifying this in the very near future…. I promise!

The Pearl sees Lord Arthur Godwick taking the limelight and I loved this man. He has a fabulous personality and I absolutely love his sense of humour. I’m rather excited about meeting the rest of his family as I believe The Rose is his sister Lia’s story. The Godwicks seem to have a history that would entertain any dinner party. I certainly loved hearing about Arthur's ancestors and their connection to the art world too.

I loved how Arthur and Regan were introduced to each other. Regan is a character who I took a little time to warm to. As the story unfolded and I learned more about her, I could understand the reasons behind her actions. Arthur seemed to be instantly attracted to her, and together they created some fabulous sexy scenes throughout the book.

I loved reading The Pearl. I was hooked after the first couple of chapters, unable to put my kindle down, that is until about 2/3rds of the way through and then my attention started to waver. The author did grab it back I must add, and it is always nice to end a book wanting more.

The Pearl has an interesting storyline, with characters who tell the story well. I loved the character Zoot, and I thought that how she and Arthur interacted added to the story perfectly. I award this book 4 stars and would definitely recommend The Pearl to you to read.

After dedicating a month to mostly thrillers, The Pearl was a spicy respite that apparently I needed. Bring on the Godwicks, art loving characters and that devious Malcolm!

The Pearl is a book told in 3 parts and there is a lot of history to it. Told in 3rd person, the first half from Arthur's POV and second half told in Regan's (with one chapter of Malcolm thrown in for good measure), we get a story of love, art, deceit and revenge.

Arthur is the eldest son of The Godwicks and he seems to be more studious, perhaps a little cold, and definitely more grown up than most men his age (he's 21). He's never connected with women his own age and he has a taste for something a little different. When Regan, a recent widow calls him to The Pearl because his brother Charlie has racked up quite a large bill, Arthur decides he will pay off his debt in return for getting their painting back that Charlie gave to Regan for his debt. When Regan proposes 10 nights with Arthur in return of the painting, he takes it. He doesn't know the importance of the painting, but he knows what it means to his parents and he would do anything to get it back. Plus, Regan is very easy on the eyes and treats Arthur just how he likes.

Regan was married to a much older man who recently passed away. She did not marry for love, but for stability. And in that marriage, she lost herself along the way. She still had a love of art and a love for her mother she barely knew, but she didn't know how to warm her cold heart. Would Arthur be able to bring it back? Would their journey open more doors? Or was this all just a bad idea set in motion by a painting and revenge?

You absolutely do not need to read any of the previous books in The Godwicks series, but reading them will give you a great understanding of who Malcolm is and the importance of art and fantasy through these stories. The art by women in The Pearl played a very important part to the journey of Arthur and Regan. I found myself looking up some of the pieces I wasn't familiar with so I could imagine the scenes playing out. Not only were these art pieces playing a major part, but so did family and sexual desires. And when you get a dominant woman such as Regan away from a life that she detested and see her in her real element with Arthur, this story had fire and more history than you could imagine. I liked the dominant woman and submissive man. But to also see the protective side of Arthur was an added bonus.

All I'll say is I've enjoyed this family and the unique journey each of the family members have taken us on. This series is original, well written, sexy as hell and even a bit educating. The Pearl was a piece of erotica I didn't know I needed at the perfect time. I love everything that Tiffany Reisz writes and this was no different. Well written erotica is hard to do and Ms Reisz does it well. Her characters have substance, biting humor and these Godwicks are so original. This family is about art, fantasy and you guessed it, sex! Are you ready to push your limits??

"...And if this is Hell, sign me up for eternity."
"I'm going to have to hurt you more so you'll stop liking this so much."
"Do your worst," he said.

The third book in the Godwicks series, but you can read this as a standalone. It features the eldest Godwich son Arthur.

I enjoyed this book. Loved seeing the relationship between the main characters start and evolve. It changes the characters and there is growth and truths come out. They learn more about themselves and the reason why.

I also enjoyed the use of paintings in the story. That was well done.

And it wouldn't be a Tiffany reisz book, if it also wasn’t steamy.

This was my first from author Tiffany Reisz, not realizing it’s book 3 in a series I now want to go back and read the rest of them.
This was a fun slight age gap, older woman dom, younger man sub story, not something I’ve seen very often, and I like the switch up, I get tired of the guy always being the dom.
I liked that the main characters were complicated and how they work through their issues or just learn to accept things about themselves was interesting to watch.
There’s a dash of mystery/ghost story in here I wasn’t expecting, but it’s a fun little twist. And I thought it was interesting that each chapter revolved a different piece of art work.
I love retelling’s, though this is one of a story I don’t know, Judith slaying Holofernes, I like knowing it’s a retelling so I can look up the original after. There’s even a line referencing it as the original sleeping with the enemy myth.

The Pearl’s story is about a wealthy 30 year-old recent widow and the 21 year-old future Earl of Godwick. (domme/sub theme.) Our “anti-heroine” Regan labored thru a 10 year bad marriage – basically of convenience for money and security. Her choice. Arthur is summoned to Regan’s hotel The Pearl to pay off his reckless brother’s decadent $100,000 tab. For hostage is the priceless portrait of Arthur’s great grandfather Malcom Godwick – a precious piece of art to Arthur’s parents (Mona and Spencer of The Rose.) She offers to allow him to pay off the bill in bed and she will return the painting after the “debt” is paid. Arthur’s guilt to cover for his brother’s antics leads him to say “yes”. His choice.

Our couple decides to play out various scenes of some historic paintings – specifically all female artists. Sometimes scened out on purpose and other times are happenstance set up by – yep, Malcom’s shenanigans. We get some scary situations, some crazy sexy times, a back-story betrayal, lots and lots of pearls, and a creepy raven named Gloom. There is also a kiss to Camelot ala King Arthur and Morgan. Sounds like a blast am I right?

Lots of review chat about Regan being too cold and unlikeable. I could not disagree more. We need flawed characters to watch them evolve throughout the story. Who wants to re-read cookie cutter characters and stories all the time? This would be a forte of our authorette Ms. Reisz. All of her heroines cannot be Nora. Regan’s aloofness is a characteristic of her strong personality and it works to keep Arthur completely obsessed with her.

The Pearl is more romantic than the first two installments in the series but with the similar paranormal vibe. Arthur is endearingly in love with Regan from the beginning, but she is not. Her resistance is more from a secret dilemma that Regan holds against the Godwick family – which drives her quest for revenge. Once Regan accepts that she has actually fallen for the young Arthur, she has other struggles to overcome before she lets it happen for their HEA.

What is also so fabulous about this story – the education we get in exceptional art by female artists. These famous canvases are woven throughout this dramatic erotic romance. A specialty of our sweet author Tiffany Reisz. She delved into gothic art in The Red and we learned more about Greek mythological couples in The Rose. (Tip: you should Google the Female artists and their works throughout the book for an added nuance to the scenes.)

The Pearl is a steamy and erotic romance with lots of quirky surprises that hint back at the Godwick family’s previous adventures. This story is also very entertaining as a standalone. What will Ms. Reisz have in store for the youngest Godwick, Charlie, in the next installment? – Can’t wait!

For the most part, The Pearl was quite good. The story flowed pretty quickly from page to page. Good writing.

The Pearl is a very swanky old London hotel. Not tourist swanky, proper rich person swanky. It is also a brothel and a haven for debauched aristocrats with plenty cash. Lord Arthur's little brother, Charlie, is debauched and aristocratic for sure, he just lacks the ready cash. When he runs up a mammoth bill over a heady few weeks at The Pearl, the hotels owner call in the debt. Forced to bargain with something that is not his to give, it is left to his brother Arthur to salvage the situation. Reagan Ferry is a lonely art lover and widowed hotel owner She has plenty money but no time or interest in pursuing a new relationship. She is prepared to trade with Lord Arthur. She will give him what he wants, in return for him, in her bed, obedient and subservient, for 10 long nights. Arthur feels he has no choice but to agree. Is this his worst nightmare? or is it what he really wanted all along?

This story has the feel of a regency romance, just with i-phones and land-rovers to bring it into the present day. The power play between the sharp and sassy Reagan, enjoying asserting her control, and the humiliated Lord Arthur, is familiar territory. The sex scenes contain nothing that would shock your average romance reader, it is all very standard. I suppose what marks this out as erotica rather than romance is the volume rather than any other quality of the sex, the high sex:plot ratio, and the fact they get down to it super early in the story rather than waiting until 33% of the way in.

The writing is very simple, but fairly effective. Some of the plot devices were a little lame, but it has some nice flourishes. I liked the dynamic between Lord Arthur and his feckless brother Charlie, the heir and the spare, Lord Arthur being fully unaware of the resentment that that might breed.
I did not like the last chapter I thought the book would be better without it, Not every loose end needs to be tied up so explicitly.

Out of the 3 Godwick books, this is my least favorite. Maybe it is the switching of roles, but I just didn't care for Regan. She wasn't likeable for me. I didn't feel the passion that I felt in the first 2 books. So it's not a 5 star for me. But how I got to 4 stars is Lord Malcolm. Always up to his old tricks, manipulating the situation for his own pleasure. Even in death (or is he?), he manages to stir up trouble..... and pleasure.
