This was a very cute kid's book about Cookie, a Pomeranian, who got lost. The story was very easy to follow, and the photo illustrations were super cute!

The idea of using different pastel-coloured backgrounds was good, and the text placements were nice and clean. Having said that, I would've preferred the photos to be edited to make them brighter/sharper. I would've probably also used a different font (something that would feel less 'formal').

This book is super cute. The pictures are really fun. It is a great book for a classroom setting for guided reading groups or for students to read at home. The story, about a little dog that gets lost, is cute and descriptive. Having actual photographs instead of illustrations is what makes me think of it as a book for a classroom. It is good for children to read books with photographs sometimes in addition to the books they read with illustrations and a lot of times, children skip over the books with photographs. But I think this book is so cute and sweet that kids will love looking at the photographs. It also can spark a great discussion for what children should do if they get separated from their parents.

Today I read the audiobook and then I decided to read the actual book. I think my granddaughter as she gets older will love the book. The book is so cute.

This book reeks of vanity publishing and not in the good way. Cookie is one of a set of twin dogs who are white and fluffy. When it comes to walking they are as different as can be. Cookie goes off exploring on her own. The story is okay but very long winded. Real photos are used instead of illustrations, and it’s these real photos that make the book seem like a vanity project. They all seem like bad photos taken with a camera phone by a novice. Some are not in focus, many have no composition value, many are shadowed and dark. Then add the layout with words on most pages fully underlined like they are being made to stand out. This book just does not work for me in any way. It is something I would never add to my collection unless the author was local and donating it to my library.

My students love stories about puppies, and they especially love stories about photographed real ones!

A cute Pomeranian puppy, Cookie gets separated from his twin and his mom. He has several adventures through town as he looks for them!

This book has cute pictures, a sweet story and will appeal to preschool and elementary aged children!

I listened was lucky to be able to read and listen.

Such an adorable book. I loved it. The adventure story was basic and simple enough for children to understand and follow. What really appealed to me was the photo story, the book uses real photos to tell the story. Super cute images of the dogs.

I also listened to the audiobook, the narrator was very good, with lovely clear words. She brought the story to life and I could imagine the dog speaking

Brilliant book for children

This story is told through the eyes of Cookie the Pomeranian who got lost whilst on a walk with her mum and sister.
Cute little story which was easy to read and understand and I especially liked that the illustrations were actually photos - just made it all a bit different and more personal.

The Day Cookie Was Lost is a sweet story of an adorable Pomeranian, named Cookie, who gets lost and separated from her mother and sister. This is a very sweet story with beautiful illustrations. I would definitely recommend this book to other dog lovers.

Cookie is a happy dog. She lives with her sister Sugar and human mom. One of favorite things that Cookie looks forward to is her walk. The world outside is so interesting. When Cookie hears that it is time for a walk, she becomes very excited. Her sister Sugar doesn’t like going on walks. Excited Cookie gets loose from her leash and goes on her walk. Cookie doesn’t look back to see if Sugar and her mom are following. At the end of her walk, she discovers her sister and mom are not with her. What will Cookie do? Will she get home?

This is a charming book with great photographs. The story is fun to read. It was interesting to see how the author saw through a dog’s eyes. The book lets one know that it isn’t good to not stay with with your mom. I was also reminded that home is best. This delightful book will grab your heart and not let go. I still think of this book as it makes me happy in the best way.

This is a sweet love story between two adorable Pomeranian dogs and their human mommy who loves them dearly. The dogs are twins and they are named Sugar and Cookie.

One day they all decide to go for a walk. Cookie is energetic and curious and loves the exercise but Sugar... not so much. Unfortunately Cookie manages to detach from her leash and is off on an adventure. Exploring is fun until she realizes she can't get back to her family and is lost. Oh my! The world is a big scary place when you are all alone. Will she be able to get back home to her amazing life of eating good food, playing with her sister, and sleeping in her cozy, warm bed? And oh how she will miss her Mommy's warm hugs and kisses!

I like the photograph illustrations. Kids love real- life pictures which literally bring the text to life. The book is short but meaningful as the concept of getting lost can also apply to small humans too. The captivating story models the happiness and value of having pets... pets that are lucky enough to have an owner who loves them dearly thus giving them a great life. I recommend this book.

I really liked the idea behind this story to tell it from the dogs point of view.

The book and story was ok but it didn't really do anything for me. The photos used on the book were good but I do think maybe drawings or cartoons would have worked better.

I asked my daughter if she wanted me to read it to her again and she said no, it was ok but could she have something else - from a mini bookworm that is not idea as she will often as for new books to be read over and over.

It is 3 stars from me for this one, a nice idea but just didn't work for for me for my daughter

Cookie is an adorable, enthusiastic Pomeranian who can't wait to go for walks every day. What happens when she slips her leash and is unable to get home though? This simple story is replete with adorable photos and a thoughtful lesson both for wandering children and dog owners. I know a few first-grade students who will certainly be queuing up for a chance to admire the cheerful photos and read the approachable text. It's obvious that the author really loves her dogs and that no pups were lost in the making of this book ;)

A sweet short story about a little dog that gets lost and separated from family members. The illustrations are very inviting. I couldn't imagine anyone not enjoying the story.

A cute little story about a dog who got lost. Cookie (the dog) doesn’t want to wait for her slow twin sister and ends up getting lost from her mom and sister. She’s scared and alone. She finds a nice lady who helps her get back to her mommy. It was a cute little adventure story with Cookie meeting other animals along the way. The pictures were photographs not illustrations. Sometimes I liked that but other times I would have preferred illustrations. Overall it was a cute kids story.

Thanks to netgalley, Susan Chapman and Canoe Tree Family for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

So obviously this was a very fast read. I decided to choose it simply because of the cover...who doesn't love a cute dog? I imagine children everywhere would love the story of how Cookie lost her way and the steps she took to find her way home. Cookie and her sister are very spoiled and very loved by their Mommy. You only have to look at the pictures to see that. I needed a quick photo pick me up and this book worked great for that. Cookie got a happy ending and having lived in South Florida, I know she was very lucky indeed. It can be a scary place, not to mention HOT. If you have young readers, request this for them. If nothing else, they will love to look at the pictures. :)

This is a cute book. It is a very short read and includes the story of how Cookie gets separated from her mom and sister. I liked how real photos were used instead of illustrations, that is different. I recommend this as a short and quick read for your littles.
