This is a fast paced suspenseful thriller
It is a little bit predictable
The ending was a let down.

This book was an exciting thriller. It was fast paced from the off. I couldn’t put the book down it was very well written. Fantastic plot to get your teeth into. Highly recommend this one

This one really reeled me in.

I wasn't sure where this book was going to begin with. Kelly Medina finds out that there is someone else new to town with the exact same name as her. Nothing seems amiss, no one has stolen her identity but Kelly can't let it lie, she has to know who shares her name.

I liked the original Kelly and her friend. Written in a nice easy style with the charm of believable everyday life the pages flew by. Once Kelly finds and meets the woman who shares her name we learn a little more about why her friend thinks it's a little odd and unbelievable. It's revealed that Kelly sees a therapist and maybe she's been down this road before. I started second guessing myself what was happening.

Then part two of the book and "boom" a major twist. Everything was turned on it's head and I just had to keep reading on. It was certainly not what I had thought was happening. I actually read this book over the course of a day - it was so good.

Lots of twists and turns going on here. I was gripped from the start, although it's more of a slow burner. But definitely stick with it as it really hots up.

This book started off rather slow, however the pace did pick up as the story began to progress.
The story had twists and turns, some of which I didn't anticipate at all.
I didn't find any of the characters particularly likeable or relatable, which hindered any connection or support you might normally feel towards them.
This was the first book I have read by this author, but I would certainly be intrigued to read any future releases.

This is a slow burner that I'm glad I stuck with.
There were quite a few twists and turns that I didn't see coming, which is always the marker of a good book, particularly in this genre for me.
None of the characters are particularly likeable, which does make it tougher to root for certain characters. But it did work for how I reacted to some of the other characters.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for more of Amber Garza's work in the future.

Absolutely fantastic novel which kept me guessing all the way though. Loved the character development and the red herrings throughout

This book is one twisty ride! When Kelly Medina meets a younger Kelly Medina the two form a friendship, but all is not as it seems and when you read a thriller/crime book a coincidence is never just a coincidence is it?!

I don't want to give too much away but this book had me constantly questioning the reality of what the older Kelly is portraying. Is everything as she sees it? There were some fabulous reveals and a smart ending that really tied the book up nicely.

The only thing that made me hesitant to give 5 stars was a section towards the end where there wasn't a lot of action, and it was all quite Kelly focused rather than any interaction between characters, and this wasn't to my own personal taste as it slowed the pace down. However, I am just trying to be strict with my star ratings and this is easily a 4.5. Great characterisation, plot, and twists that kept me eagerly turning the pages!

This book has a slow build to an explosive finale. I liked how we slowly learned more about the MCs and that nothing was as it seemed. Don't trust anyone!
The writing was good and drew me in quickly and the story line was fascinating. This book drewe in and kepte reading into the early hours as I had to know what happened next.
I would have liked more action throughout the book as I thought the action was crammed into the last third.
On the whole, a great book.

Fantastically written and explores motherhood,friendships,loss and obsession. This will get under your skin and into your mind.

I absolutely loved this and cant wait to read more from this talented mind. A fresh clever voice in the world of psychological thrillers

This was an engaging thriller full of twists! 5 stars.

Wow, what a fantastic thriller! It was fast-paced, interesting, dark, twisty and full of craziness and I absolutely loved it. Every time I thought I had it figured out it changed the pace completely.

I would love to see this as a film! I think it would be amazing as a movie or a TV series. Please someone make this happen.

Would I recommend this book? Yes, definitely! And I'm very excited to read more by this author, I hope she continues writing thrillers because this was amazing.

The twists you don’t see coming make perfect sense.
I highly recommend When I Was You by Amber Garza. This is an absorbing story with twists and turns that surprise and keep the reader hooked. You think you are on a simple car ride only to find out you’re on a roller coaster.
All the characters including the secondary ones are well drawn and believable. This is a good story very well told.

This book was a little confusing to start with. I wasn’t sure where it was heading and I was ready to give up but then it took an unexpected turn and the story came together. It was an overall good read in the end.

This book wasn’t for me unfortunately so I will not be writing a review as I don’t feel it is fair to the author

Kelly Medina meets a wan with the same name as her and becomes her friend., but something isn't quite right. Loved this book. Took a turn I wasn't expecting. Couldn't put it down.

Really engaging first read of this author.

Kelly Medina recieves a call from the Paediatrician's office reminding her about an upcoming appointment. Kelly soon realises that she is not the only Kelly Medina in the area.

At first she seems pretty obsessive but hold on! The book does fall in to place and you will be gripped. Brilliant!

From the first chapter Kelly is obsessed with”the other Kelly”. I would have liked more development rather than straight to crazy.
She really misses her sons house left home for university and is constantly reliving memories of when he was younger and she had purpose. I had a bone to pick at this point....get a job or hobby Kelly!

Part two wasn’t enjoyable. I gave up at 78% I was not enjoying this story and didn’t want to continue. There’s some twists but if you have half a brain you’ll have worked them out from the third chapter!

Unexciting, boring and full of holes. I can’t recommend

Kelly at first just seemed crazy. I truly believed she had lost the plot and was just in way over her head. However, a little over half way through things start to fall in place.

A very thrilling and well written story!
